AMD 5800X3D, the new King for flight simulators?
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to maxsin72's topic in Virtual Reality
I plan to get a airflow case like Factual Design Torrent so naturally, I am going with Noctua also. I am not sure I would like putting extra effort to refill the AIO some years later. -
HP Reverb G2, used buyer questions
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in Virtual Reality
Further question: If I were to get one from eBay, how could I know if it is a "brick" or not? Is it possible for G2 to become a "brick"? -
Good to know. Thanks. I have been waiting for a year so don't mind waiting for a little more. Just make it great, please!

No news on OB patch for the time being, no high hopes, next week then...
-
Fingers crossed.

Have you tried Virtual Desktop. From what I have heard, you may need this for PCVR, at least with wireless. Do not count on Quest3, rumours gave it is no pancake lenses.

Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
Nope, this thing, is £300 more... Great idea! I would suggest NTTR >= 25,000 feet, no clouds, with the sun at the highest -
Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
Just an correction, SCAN UK is selling OC version of ASU’s TUF card, not the cheapest one. -
Have a look please, it is over Pico 4's thread. In short, Wired, the current software is max at 1600 pixels high and the USB connection cannot provide sufficient speed to decompress the signal Wireless, it is no where near AirLink, and there will be stuttering even if you have a very decent WiFi setup. Disclaimer, I don't have either HMD.

If you take a look at the video of comparison between G2 and Pico 4 with MSFS, you may wish to reconsider...

I am buying not only to support but I like the free mod! And if I am to pay for an even better version? Why in the 'verse not? The £££ had been sitting here a year ago.

Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
I have a crazy idea, when I am buying a custom PC from SCAN, I would ask them directly if they can get me a FE alongside... -
Another Wed passed, nothing! Edit: Hopes up! Hopes up!

Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
And I check the SCAN UK, they claim to have the least expensive Asus 4090 in stock if and only if one builds a PC with them, not to mention the price has been marked up to >£300 per piece. But these cards are not for sale as a component, so tough luck if you wish to upgrade. -

Just refreshed my setup store on SCAN UK...dang, still no price cut. -
Upgarde from 3070 to 3090 resonable?
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Reusenfisch's topic in Virtual Reality
I understand, please do not have any hard feelings. The thing is, it is rather hard to find new 3090 card here in the UK and I personally is very skeptic when getting a used card. I only heard and read good things about it, to be frank. After watching some comparison videos in another thread, I am convinced that if budget is not a big issue, get the new 4090 instead. -
Upgarde from 3070 to 3090 resonable?
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Reusenfisch's topic in Virtual Reality
I would check out the interview EVGA had with Gamer Nexus first, it is on YouTube btw, the reason they separate their way with NVIDIA before talking about the reasons behind. And I would also check out the benchmarks regarding which are the top cards for 3090 and 3090TI. I am not a user of 30x0 except the laptop version so this is not my personal experience and I cannot provide any hard number. I speak for myself. Thank you. -
Upgarde from 3070 to 3090 resonable?

I am not sure about the main question, but a lot of people seem to swear by EVGA. I would suggest you check it out -
Is it going to be worth going 3090 to 4090?
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
FYI, it seems that SCAN.UK no longer carries any 3090Ti card, sell-alone or build with custom PC alike... shame. Now I can justify the 4090 to my chancellor... As for OXR vs SVR, I think I am leaving it till I get a used G2V2 down the line on another thread, the rig comes first. -
From what I have heard about Quest3, not much about FoV, the design may stick with Quest2, not the more balanced Quest Pro, but the lens will be changes and it is likely to be more expensive than Quest2. I would not keep my hopes up. I think my next stop will be G2V2, it is a quantum leap from Quest2 already (as long as I don't hit those cable problems) as on eBay, the used ones are selling cheaper than a Quest2. PSVR2 looks very good, though I think it is a catchup. Unfortunately, if my understanding is correct, it is not relevant to PCVR. HL:Alyx is a must-have for all those who play VR, may be after Beat Sabre, and it was a big deal. I am not saying it is bad, the thing is, there is nothing like to keep up the hype.

MOD BEST RAIN COCKPIT UPDATE 2.8
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to pastranario3's topic in DCS Modding
The 2D rain drop effect is very gorgeous now. I wish VR or stereo mode could be the same.
