Eye tracking control of in cockpit switches
AngleOff66 replied to Mr_sukebe's topic in Virtual Reality
Something like this perhaps? https://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/10pd6hn/for_those_who_wanted_to_track_the_progress_of_my/ VR mouse-pointer-head-tracking utility I think the OP mentioned looking for help with programming for Windows .NET/StereoKit/OpenXR/C# I think that something like this would be great, and I would hope that it comes through. Edit: has anyone tried camera mouse? http://www.cameramouse.org/ -
Found this thread about disabling amd instant replay. Also something to do with codecs. Some people seem to be doing better with the latest AMD driver.

Very interesting what if(to me). What if you placed the wings of an F-4 Phantom on a Buccaneer? Still a work in progress. https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/topic/97260-my-148-phuccaneer-fga2/

Thanks for that info. Well AMD might be an option then for some. Hopefully things get better. I am really not happy with the Nvidia cards/prices.

Edit this is oculus? No idea if it would be better with other head sets.

Sunglasses to remove(mitigate) mura/screen door?
AngleOff66 replied to AngleOff66's topic in Virtual Reality
He did a review on the psvr2 a day or so ago and, I think that he is not too happy with it. I would be great to have a good stand alone vr headset that isnt $2000. Maybe one day. -
Skip to 4:30 So is this a coating that could be added to prescription vr lenses?

New tool 1/48 CT-114 Snowbird https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235119217-new-tool-canadian-ct-114-tutor-in-148-scale-from-kinetic-model/ Pre order arround $80? Considering how much the old kit(which was a kit of of its time) was costing on the used market, this should build easier. Cross fingers. Edit: would love to have a flyable mod for DCS. I saw that there is a private only mod.

After the latest"low end" cards, this just more confirmation that gaming needs AMD to figure out it's GPU division out or sell it on to someone else? Also Intel get your act into gear! Yes there also look to be some games out there that need to be less sloppy.

Asimov's 3 rules of Robotics. Change Robotics to AI. Did ANY of the companies developing AI program these in? When there is money to be made? What am I thinking.

I agree Asus isn't helping. Do any of the other board makes have that warranty void thing? I dunno. Is it going to happen to everyone, not likely, but I wonder as to long term component degradation caused by going beyond the specified voltages. People on tight budgets save for a long time to buy these components. Imagine finding out that your MB allowed over voltages beyond the spec which will likely age your system sooner than you expected? I'd be pretty upset. I for one have to run my systems for years. Edit: I think you raise a good point in your second paragraph regarding the culmination of causes. I remember a bit about the swiss cheese failure model theory.

I know that we arent supposed to read yt comments, but some folks mentioned that he may have not seen the performance he was expecting as it looked like alt hold may have been on somehow. I guess that he will try again.

From what I have read, it looks like the team is hitting some roadblocks. I hope that they can overcome these. I dont want to give anyone the impression that this will all get solved next week. It sounds like it could take some time. I wish them luck.

Northrop YF-23 Black Widow

Thanks to everyone involved. -
I posted in another section thinking it was here. MOAR coffee. For those that are interested, Work continues to make the PSVR2 work with PC. To quote:"you either need to have a VirtualLink GPU, or a VirtualLink adapter" "The only adapter currently for sale that is known to work is the BizLink VirtualLink adapter. Remains to be seen whether AMD VL cards can be used in "VR" mode, but nVidia VL cards almost certainly can" PSVR2 uses Tobii IR cameras for gaze tracking I am interested myself. Of course none of this would be necessary if they would just unlock it for PC, yes, I know the HMD is supposed to help them sell games.

Asus statement on damaged CPU. https://videocardz.com/newz/asus-statement-on-damaged-ryzen-7000-cpus-mentions-amd-expo-and-soc-voltage I think about new builders/system owners who may not understand/be aware of these motherboards that can and do push the voltages up without warning the user. Isnt it the responsibility of the MB manufacturer to make sure that their voltage bosts do not fry the cpu/ram etc etc? -
[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
AngleOff66 replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
From the wiki(yeah I know) for Giora Epstein "He soon gained the nickname "Hawkeye" due to his extraordinary eyesight. Epstein was allegedly able to spot aircraft at a distance of 24 miles (38,4 km) — nearly three times further than a normal pilot." So, if that has any accuracy, then a fighter sized aircraft could be spotted at about 9 miles? -
Rear Admiral Manazir lessons on the F-14.
AngleOff66 replied to AngleOff66's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I am not running the HB F-14 down. I like it a lot(even though I cant fly it worth a darn), and I agree with the comments about Mr. Carroll's setup(we dont know), and missing physical cues. We all need 3dof freedom seats with ffb/bass shakers. j/k I only mentioned it as a discussion, no insult to HB intended at all. PS I am sure that the HB F-4 will be awesome as well. -

Thanks lunaticfringe. I'd be curious to learn what the admiral feels could be improved? Also the comment at around 26:00 minutes: Oh he(jester) is getting fined for saying top gun stuff! HAHA!
