I've tried, but with art even my stick figures need help. SU-27 Tiger. This could also translate into a grey white snow tiger type? http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/130242-what-if-schemes/&do=findComment&comment=1320474 JSDF SU-27 http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/130242-what-if-schemes/&do=findComment&comment=1326556 USN Blue angels, but I think a two seater if it exists? http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/130242-what-if-schemes/&do=findComment&comment=1318178

Buy or Build PC for VR (UK)
AngleOff66 replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Look into cooling for the 12th gen series. Contact frame/bracket. There is the cheap one reviewed here and the more expensive one by thermal grizzly. You can see how carefully they install the bracket. I think I remember that temps dropped about 7-8 degrees which may or may not be worth it to you. -
That is a very nice setup Hector. The center cushion is much better than what I posted from the online reseller. I wonder if using a car chair would interfere with VR HMD? Trying to turn around and having that bit of the chair right at the back of your head/neck. hmm.

I think I remember someone mentioning that having a fan blow air on them when flying in VR? Might work?
-
If I had the room I would get a car chair set up. A local handy person or carpenter can make the base: Examples: https://www.polygon.com/guides/2020/7/1/21300566/how-to-build-a-flight-simulator-racing-cockpit-homemade-diy-rig-frame-chair-setup Any competent wood worker should be able to look at these various setups and cobble something together. https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/mobile-driving-flying-cockpit-with-motion-and-tactile-build.165289/ This is a racing rig, but it should provide ideas: U shaped foam cushion. Plenty of others. https://www.amazon.ca/Posture-Pro-Health-Chair-Cushion/dp/B09KCQYJDF/ref=sr_1_61?keywords=Foam+Cushion&qid=1658785131&sr=8-61 Not sure how to cut the metal frame of the chair and then re weld though.

Need recommendation for a gaming laptop
AngleOff66 replied to rkric258's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Depending on the game, you can loose performance. So unless you have to have a laptop, you are better off with a desktop. This video is a year old, but shows the drop in performance. I will be very curious to see what they do for cooling with the 40 series cards in a laptop. -
Moore's Law: Gpu pricing new and used
AngleOff66 replied to AngleOff66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
So even with these "sales" how close are these new prices to msrp or below msrp? It is last gen (some of the 40 series may be delayed?). I would want to see lower prices still. Cmon AMD/Intel give us some good stuff to drive prices lower. Did I just say that about intel? -
I know it is a bad idea to buy a gpu and not be able to run it. In my case I'd need a new PSU etc etc. And I really want to see the new AMD stuff coming out. How often does a GPU arrive DOA? and some of the used gpu prices if they drop as far as he is estimating could be very good indeed. Almost worth the risk?

I think that the Cow needs flying goggles, leather helmet and a silk scarf. Edit: I am looking at the post by Kinkkujuustovoileipä, and the theme music is ride of the Valkyries. Just imagine a whole squadron of Helicopters with Cows popping over a hill flying at you with the music. I bet the mission builder guys cant wait.

A shame that you do not have a spare PSU and send this to Gamers Nexus for testing. -
Your opinion about new pc config for DCS VR
AngleOff66 replied to Ross-impress's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Gamers nexus relevant but about the CPU starts at approx 13:00 GN has a riew, but I found the one by Jarrod's tech 1st. If you can afford it, get the Alder. -
Can I get a 2nd opinion (cooling)
AngleOff66 replied to Bossco82's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I always to think of the Gamers Nexus AIO video re orientation. I think it is why my build will have Noctua fans. You can always tell if the fan isn't spinning. I hope that you can solve this. Best of luck. -
I just watched a A-4 vs F-14 vid on YT and I thought a few times "oh if he had just a bit engine" So I ask if there will ever be a Top Gun version with the more powerful engine? I'd like to again thank everyone involved with this mod. I really enjoy it. Thanks!

Good point. I'm not saying its ideal, but, if $$$$ is an issue, it might work. Another with smaller vices. https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/benywo/built_some_hotas_mounts_and_you_can_too/ I do not think that I would want to use these forever, but until I could get the $ for a monstertech or virpil, it might just do.

Sorry if already posted. https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/158016-easy-sturdy-desktop-joystick-holder/ There are also quick release(A button) versions of these vices, but, I've read that sometimes the buttons release on their own? So research before trusting your HOTAS to a quick release version. https://www.amazon.ca/Delta-20-622-4-Inch-Quick-Release-Drill/dp/B00004Y9F3 One thing I always did when clamping onto wood was to use some sacrificial thin pieces of wood on either jaw to protect the desk surface. Edit my second link was to a plastic clamp. Not sure that would hold up?

My next O.S will be LINUX. Check this out!
AngleOff66 replied to Thinder's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I had a dual boot Ubuntu/Windows system. Once I learned about the software libraries, I pretty much I had everything I needed. I deleted ubuntu due to space reasons mainly. I did not like what it did to the boot loader. That was my fault though. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1240994/how-to-restore-windows-boot-loader-after-removing-ubuntu Main issue for ubuntu/linux is drivers imho. But, I think in time that there will be much better support. -
Saw this and thought that it may help. 3d print Thopter https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5125725/files This one looks pretty spiffy https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/miniatures/sci-fi/dune-ornithopter

NEED ASSISTANCE WILL PAY

Not trying to muddy the waters, but would Dview or DXtweak help? https://derekspearedesigns.com/technical-guide.html -
Saw these and thought that it may work for someone. There are plenty of other styles as well. https://www.amazon.ca/Everlasting-Comfort-Orthopedic-Sciatica-Tailbone/dp/B01EBDV9BU/ref=bmx_dp_kgexgzqn_1/134-9559785-5451040?pd_rd_w=DH1zy&pf_rd_p=aa5a6837-dc2f-41da-8ea4-563c5d415b8d&pf_rd_r=ZT2264GRDRZJJXD6M8V4&pd_rd_r=5e7fc2ea-ef53-441d-b7b9-2f1d1717e354&pd_rd_wg=LREdf&pd_rd_i=B01EBDV9BU&psc=1 1) You might have to flip it so that bulge isnt in behind. 2) Not sure that the gap in the middle is large enough for full range of motion of the stick?

Agree 100% with MOW above. Unless you have no choice and must have a portable, a desktop will have more performance. Yes, it is a bad time hardware wise, especially GPU, but, a desktop might give you a GPU upgrade path. Hardware unboxed analysis 3070 vs 3070
