  1. Been playing around with the Mirage 2000 after some time away from it and building a new keybind setup. I tried to map the keybinds for the A/P Test and FBW Test switches, and their covers, but the keybinds don't seem to work. I can mouse click them just fine, and they work in the keybind config page, but not with button or keypress in the cockpit. I also tried the Quaggles input files/ commands. Is this a known issue, and has anyone figured out a fix? Thanks
  2. I recently dusted off my long forgotten SU-25 for some fun. And remembered this annoying defect, as shown by the red arrows in attatched pic. Was there ever any fix for this? I looked around the forums, but didn't find anything. Thanks for any help.
  3. Like others have said, where else can one fly a Mig-29, or Su-27 series? Also the bonus of naval ops with the Su-33. One of my high-time planes is the Su-25T. It's got weapon types no other module has. The Su-25A would get much more stick time if ED could ever fix that screwed up cockpit texture/modelling..... With these Soviet/Russian aircraft, the repaint opportunities alone are worth the price. (Even though I often make up my own countries, and "what-if" schemes for all the modules I own) And there are nights I just don't wanna deal with 34 radar modes, or 57 switch flips just to turn on the left nav light
  4. A temporary fix is to add this to the end of each livery's discription.lua file. custom_args = { [27] = 1.0, [1000] = 1.0, [1001] = 1.0, [1002] = 1.0, [1003] = 1.0, [1004] = 1.0, [1005] = 1.0, } I've only tried this for my custom liveries, so not sure how it will affect the default liveries. Each arg controls a set of numbers. For example arg 27 controls the fintip numbers. viewing the FA-18C in the MDLViewer will tell you which arg controls which number set. Hope this helps. When ED fixes this squawk, it's a simple matter to just delete these lines from each discription.lua file.
  5. 1) Love to also see a Bering Strait map. U.S. and Russia as next door neighbors. "I can see Russia from my house" 2) Angola/South Africa map. Why not? Good for MiG-21, SU-25, and MI-24 operations. 3) Cuba, with parts of Florida ,Gitmo, and Carribean areas. Can practice my defections.... 4) My neighborhood.
  6. Try flying for Russia, USSR, or, try other countries. I see USA selected in your pic. IIRC, bare metal was the only one availaible for USA.
  7. Couple of things... If the plane doesn't move at all, check your wheelbrake axis settings (if you mapped your brakes to an axis) The axis may need to be inverted, or "un-inverted" If you can move but cannot steer, make sure you engage nosewheel steering. When setting up new controllers, it's all too easy to overlook binding conflicts, misconfigured axis, calibration issues, etc. Hope some of this helps.
  8. Vibrate the panel to keep the gauge needles from sticking? But engine vibration may be enough? Or not? Maybe I have no idea? On the planes I work on, something that looks like that under the panel is usually a gear or stall warning horn.
  9. I just wish ED could fix the canopy bow model issue in the SU-25A. That big ugly untexured model part ruining the cockpit view. There has been numerous threads on these forums about that.
  10. Get divorced, sell the kids to science. Seriously, maybe the earlier simpler jets may fit the bill, like the F-86, or F-5E. They're jets, fly fast, but don't have a million radar modes, or a gazillion types of weapons to master. The older jets are also, IMO, more "hands on" and allow for more pure flying and less "systems management". PS those modules are pretty much done, so no worry about having to relearn anything when new versions come out. Hope my rambling helps...
  11. I know you can place ships in lakes, but only as static scenery objects. I often put ships (or oil rigs, etc) in lake Mead on the Nevada map. Can't add way points or get them to really do anything, but it's better than nothing. But I'm with you on your request.
  12. I often make missions where my A-10/F-16/FA-18/SU-25/etc flies with only 2 MK-82's /84's/FAB-250's/etc . I think of the mission as part of a forgotten front war at the end of a LOOOONG supply chain. Make you ensure every shot counts..... Exorcet's idea would add an interesting aspect to your campaign creation.
  13. Select "Take off from ground" Instead of "take off from ramp" when setting up the object's first waypoint (0) Selecting "takeoff/start from ground" will allow the plane to be placed anywhere on the map. Well, except the water....
  14. Do RoughMet textures work on the L-39's? I tried various ways of activating them, but no joy. I have had no trouble adding/editing RoughMet's for any of my other modules, but the L-39 is being a naughty brat! Maybe I just forgot a period or comma in the .lua....
  15. Luiz, Most of the left and right console switches don't seem to have any key commands assigned to them. Nor are they listed in the controls menus, so I cannot simply map them to controller buttons. Also I use TM's Hog Throttle and MFDs with TM's TARGET software, which need key commands to program the buttons. For example, what is the key command for the master battery switch? Or engine start? Hopefully this makes sense. Also what is the devel version? Is it different from version 1.8b? To the guy with the brakes problem. If you have any axis assigned to brakes, you may have to invert the axis. On some of my planes, the brakes will stay on if I don't invert axis.
  16. The separate left/right toe brakes are not rendered yet, or fully tuned. Hopefully will be addressed soon, along with the rest of the key command bindings. These will bring an excellent mod over the top!
  17. Amazing what an export success the A-29B has become. When I made the origonal FSX model only two or three countries used the Super Tucano. A cool "what if" scheme would be Dominican Republic 1980's P-51 colors.
  18. The part in question is located as shown in the pic. That panel area is located as shown on my attached pic. Hopefully that will help you.
  19. It's just so cool to see so many others enjoy an aircraft I made 13 years ago for another sim... Of course it's all due to LUIZ and team, that we are enjoying their mod now, in a proper combat sim.
  20. I just uploaded a texture template for the A-29. Includes a RoughMet file and a sample description.lua file showing how it enable the RoughtMet file. First time uploading to this site, so hope it all went well...
  21. I believe that's for the inertial seperator. It's an intake system for the engine that uses centrifugal forces to throw out dirt/FOD. Very common on helocopters.
  22. I'm gonna try to release the tex template next couple of days. Still want to tweak it and play around with the RoughMet.
  23. Sure beats FSX! Been playing around, improving the texture template, which I can't believe I still had. Can't wait for more progress on this cool mod.
  24. Those pics of the new model sure look good. I wish I had today's computer horsepower back in 2008. I'm sure the real A-29 has evolved over time, and it would be cool to see all the latest and greatest in the new models. Luiz, keep up the great work!!
