When I say screen grabs I mean screen shots whilst in 3d which as far as I know are the single eye screen visible on pc rather that what eyes see in the HMD. So yes my pic is what I see as far as it can be shown to others not wearing my HMD. And I think its acceptable. (again my settings are for fps not eye candy) One difference is that the cockpit looks distinctly better than it does in that pic and as I said before in the 3D view the 2 aircraft were closer than seems in the pic.

Drops lower by 20fps for me on the ramp with 60 players. Down to Av 45. Causing me no issues I`m aware of though.

These kind of pics do not work to compare what individuals see in their 3D. For example aircraft are much much closer than they seem in these external screen grabs. I go for fluidity in flight rather than using the options for min jags or max quality.

To be fair there is some confusion crept in. Topic was taxi light not landing. Re the later post again saying navy used NIETHER on carrier. I could swear ive heard/read a RL navy pilot talking about the LSO using among other things, the position/visibility of landing light to help judge incoming jets lineup etc. Might have been CW LeMoine or similar.

2 people above are getting what sounds like awful experience DESPITE having better HW than me. Very odd and another example of the individuality of systems. Its a real problem that it does not seem possible to record what a player sees. Both the good and the bad. Correction.... 3 people.

That is very much NOT the going rate in Europe. Mine ? less than 60 euro.

Not sure why you compare 2D to 3D. VR was always going to come 2nd/3rd best. I also spent several days and whilst I still hope for improvements from ED, especially for the F16, it is for me, set as I have set, as much as I can expect from VR at this time. At least at the domestic level of hardware. Ive always urged people to try before buying if possible. PS I only use zoom to be sure of contacts altitude and to be sure its an f18 not an f16 (due to poor font) so you might conclude that its very adequate vision wise. (for me)

I go as soon as Ready is displayed (unless I am busy with other stuff in which case I let it run further obviously) and as yet have no issues. That might change when the lacking sp features are available. PPT`s likely to need maximum precision if its actually modeled.

Prompted by =Panther= in another topic I trickled down the runway at sub 20knts trying both left and right toe break alternately. Initially I had the opposite to =Panther=. But after coming to a halt and moving off again a couple of times the zero toe break changed sides. So at takeoff I had only one side working and that side changed during the roll.

If it was so skittish in RL I doubt it would be allowed. Certainly not safe for multi plane TO even with separation. As usual with these issues there will be some of us that apparently have no problems with it.

You do not say what you are getting or what you think you should be getting. If you are talking about fps then you ought to be getting at least 45 and maybe 60 depending on graphic choices.

Legibility of the cockpit texts was part of the initial post and that is surely something that COULD be addressed ? The fashion for finding the dirtiest/worn pit for photo textures has some merit but perhaps its also to avoid the expense of an artist creating more readable `fake` pit art. Cruising around it is not so important but in mission the lacking clarity is a burden and hindrance. An alternative fake pit would be great. Not just for the F14.

Afterburner is still showing long after throttle closed.

+ 1 Brightness and contrast functions may be yet to come and thats ok (probably rarely needed outside night flights) but no reason why the default setting should be anything less than fine in normal conditions. It is not and quite remarkable that the issue has never been acknowledged.

Have you mixed up heading select with steering select ? That was my 1st thought.

I cant seem to replicate your viewpoint but this is similar.

Considering the level of zoom and good amount of shade apparent its hard to say what level of improvement there might be.

Joy_RY and Joy_Slider2 is what ive had to use for my X and Y cursor in dcs f16. Not using HOTAS game port though.

Does not sound like radios even at stage 3. What's required is ability to speak to any radio on same frequency that is in range.
