OT but its a struggle to see contacts on in game fcr its so dim. Why would they be so ? Surely not in RL

HUD on/off and brightness is controlled with the same rotary top left of ICP You CAN alter the font size within a lua but not ideal. I have done such for the OSB`s on mfd. Rather have some official improvement though. Maybe not size but clarity by some means.

[REPORTED] Hole in cockpit above fuel flow panel
CobaltUK replied to Scofflaw's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sunlight also seems to come in from above left mfd. -
You will get a very much lower range in the TM calibration SW for the throttle if you have the hall sensor fitted. Setting it up for the best output (but always lower) takes some trial and error. Information about doing that will have come with the vipergear parts.

Just shows the variety of personal results. I have been staring at life size dimensionally correct f16 dashboard/UFC including `3D` ICP for years including reclining seat. The force ipd adjustment for me now allows my hands to invisibly move almost to the exact spot and operate real switches by muscle memory while vision is in VR.
-
The force ipd at 55 (think that was preset waiting selection but not remember. Was/is it ? ) is good. I had not realised that the stick at default looked smaller than full size. 55 improves things for the mfds but makes legibility on the side consoles worse. Stick looks right. Someone said 45 was good for him. Way over size but for sure cures readability issues. Not sharp but readable. HOTAS looks ridiculous. For the moment ive compromised at 50 which i can live with and does not suffer the side consoles messing up like the 55. There are so many permutations with vr/dcs. I do wish there were tried and tested settings provided. That zoom view is good as long as i do not move the view about whilst zoomed in. Doing that makes me heave.

You do not need to be actual anything to recognise that 2 things do not compare in the way they should.
-
It was only a video but the clarity of cockpit text compared to what i`m used to worries me for VR Hope its my imagination.

3rd Thursday for me

Flaps are automatic.

VR is not for everyone and there is minus as well as plus so ideally attempt to try before you buy.

The perspex (or whatever) is a barrier to clear view in VR. The F16 is noted for its clear all round view and I would like the option to turn off the graphic that interferes with the clarity. With existing modules i can put my head `through` the perspex and the jump in visibility can be marked. I would like option to turn off for all cockpits actually. Clarity varies but can be like looking through a fine mesh stocking.

Only cycles pylon if same weapon i believe. Also cycles ccip/ccrp/DTOS for bombs.

Is it possible to use the Cougar microstick without Foxy and Target?
CobaltUK replied to sirrah's topic in Thrustmaster
No ive never found any need in other sims. I might try your axis assignment in the control panel to see if i can get the more natural joy_RX to work as quoted by SGT Coyle. -

Yeah i figured that what SHOULD be. Must be something wrong with my cougar setup as SLIDER2 is only choice working for me. I wont mess with setup though as its correct for mouse cursor in other sims. -

I know i had to choose some weird axis options to set TDC slew for F18 with cougar. Not what you would suppose. Axis commands, catagory Throttle Grip,HOTAS TDC Horizontal joy_RY TDC Vertical joy_SLIDER2 I always meant to ask what it ought to be but hey it works (for me) -

I do not know if makes a difference but ive always set my microstick as axis 7 and 8 in the cougar control panel. -
You may be right but the 1080Ti is not known for any struggle with dcs 2D.

Whilst more cpu cycles sounds right, I get no improvement at all going from 3.9 to 4.4ghz. NOTHING. Exact same event and view. If anything there seems a slight reduction in average fps at the higher setting and thats repeatable. Makes no sense. This was 2D to make the comparisons easier.

Similar spec except for 4770K @3.9 I select 120hz which seemed to help a lot with vr sickness. Looking sideways is the biggest demand on system so some smoothing options will be needed. Reprojection is ON but smoothing OFF i think ? It shows differently to me depending where i look in the steamvr settings. I ignore my apparent fps. Its smooth in flight offline. Not tried online where i expect it not to be. Using dcs vr default settings on the Options.Sytem page.

@Brixmis, thanks but thats not what i call instructions. Seems just a collection of frequently asked questions. Not even a diagram. Not what i would expect for the money. Floundering around as a complete nube. Regarding the camera i thought it might not be an active feature yet. Did not know about the button but more than that its shown inactive in steamvr settings somewhere. It suggests my usb3 on main board might not be suitable "try another". I realy did think the feature was not yet enabled. Another thing i learned by chance of reading here was how (as a non controller owner) to get anywhere within the vr home screen. But only got 1 step further even so as not having the means to select anything.

Single lighthouse directly in front of my position, about 3 feet above head. Check 6 seems fine. Where are the instructions for this kit ? Not the flimsy enclosed, the real instructions.

Anyone actually (or claim) to have acceptable VR performance?
CobaltUK replied to Stal2k's topic in Virtual Reality
Only had hands on with 1st headset ever (index) a matter of hrs so no idea what i`m doing yet. Initially seemed locked at 25 fps somehow. Improved that to 30 with everything zeroed. Changed from default 90 fps config to the 80 and also turned off enable motion smoothing. Reprojection on (cant actually see where to turn on/off). Now a low of 40 with fluctuations up into the 60-80 range. That with a few of the usual things turned back upwards. i7 @3.9, 32gb slow ram DDR3-1865/PC3-14900 In game ipd set 1.0 1080ti GPU-Z reports Memory used 11095 GPU Load 100% Little update. Ive now installed fpsVR and its telling a slightly different story with same settings. 40fps. av 37.7, GPU usage av 78%, cpu av 18% If those usage are to be believed then there is headroom and no reason for the av fps and GPU frametime 19-20 ms ? cpu frametime av 10.5 Anyway it seems playable at 40 and a brief visit to a mp server also seemed ok.
