I solved it now by placing some SAM vehicles in the area. Shortly after mission start I blow the whole area up in a big explosion, which leaves a noticeable "impact area" on the ground

I would definitely buy any plane if it's modeled at a similar level like the Hog and the Shark. Since Falcon 4.0 I really like clickable Cockpits, because I can concentrate on learning how the stuff works, rather than additionally have to remember a load of keyboard commands

No, I thought about using script objects already implemented in the vanilla version, something like (pseudocode) CreateSmoke(Zone) edit: If I use a mod, all clients flying my mission must also have the mod installed, right?

Hi, is there any way I can create a burning aircraft wreck / an area burning? I want to create a crash site, but the simple "unit as dead" placement looks a bit..unspectacular

Just a short video of a stupid idea :D Me and crusher flying a mission, discovering an SA-15 on the way to the target area. Crusher was to draw its fire and I wanted to approach very low to take it out. Well....it didn't work ;-) At least I took the bas***d with me :-D

Don't know why, but updating solved the problem.

I will check this when I am at home. But that shouldn't be that important, it worked a few weeks ago. I installed a codec pack in the time between, K-Lite codec pack, but uninstalling it doesn't solve the problem either. edit: It's still a very old version, that's what I know, maybe I should try updating it..but I have little hope that will work, like I said, a few weeks ago it did

Hi video makers. I used to take some videos using FRAPS, simple AVI videos, and rendered them with Windows Movie Maker. Not the GlowingAmraam level of videomaking but more than enough for my purposes. Suddenly, I can't do that anymore. I record the video using FRAPS, but Windows Media player can't play it. If I import it in Movie Maker, the video is marked with yellow !-Signs, if I click it, it says the video is damaged and has to be removed. I can play it with VLC player, but any attempt to convert it fails. VLC simply crashes then. I also tried opening and saving the video with VirtualDUB (uncompressed AVI), which results in the media player being able to play it, but still can't use it in Movie Maker. Any ideas on this issue?

It's a beautiful plane, and of course a nice work from ED, but I'm more into modern era planes ;)

To be honest, I currently think about all those guys that said "This will never happen", "this is not possible", and such things ;) But you are right, such a project is a fu**ing lot of hard work, and if ED will make this happen...then everyone working for this project has earned my greatest respect. But on the other hand exactly those third party addons is the thing I worry about a little. Who can stop me from making my own fully overpowered super-duper-plane and "own" the servers with it? Hope server admins will be able to select, which addons are allowed and which ones are not ;)

So I need DCS World as the Core Product and I can add my Warthog, my Black Shark, my Mustang (think I will skip that one) and my Combined Arms to that Core... I think now I understand how this will work. This is just...wow...someone please wake me up, I must be dreaming... This is what I dreamed of since I played the dynamic campaign in Falcon 4.0..and now it gets real..

Did I get this correctly? With combined Arms we get a complete battlefield, where I fly my A-10C exactly like it is in Warthog, can bomb an AI target marked by a ground unit, steered by my friend while another friend is playing commander of the enemy ground forces? If yes, this is what I have ever dreamed of... edit: What is DCS: World then?

I would never buy regular games on Steam, I want to have a DVD and a case and a...hm...manual (if it is more than a paper sheet with instructions how to install it..) Steam is good for the many specials and when you can get a good game for a reduced price

I know that, I just disagreed with what the Threadopener said, that it is Steams fault, because they got hacked. If only your account has been "hacked" because you fell for a phishing mail, it is indeed your fault ;)
