Thanks, yea, I meant wake turbulence, not the weather turbulence.
-
Try switching off wake turbulence, the "burble" isn't programmed realistically and causes a strange pitch-up...
-
Note that the HSI shows track up, not heading up. You'll see a thin line where the nose is pointing...

Blame it all on 'it was in the early years of computers'?

You could test increasing the dead zone for the mini-stick? -
Thanks everyone for your responses! So I guess it will stay like that.. at least I won't waste time trying anymore! Have a nice weekend! Fresh

There is a cockpit trigger guide, don't know where I found it. (For the A-10C) It says: Good luck! Fresh p.s. File attached for convenience... A-10C cockpit-triggers.pdf

Hi, maybe someone who has used a TACAN for real can clarify something for me: I know that TACAN and DME are basically similar when we are talking about the distance measuring aspect. So I would like to know if a VOR/DME station (without a co-located TACAN), which is working on a frequency of, let's say, 114.85 Mhz (that would be the VOR part) has a channel pairing of 95X (Xmit on 1119 Mhz, Recv on 1056 MHz - see attached file). Can a fighter, with TACAN equipment, tune 95X, and receive the DME distance from the civilian VORDME station 114.85? I have tried with the F/A-18 on the South Atlantic map, and with the F/A-18 on the Caucasus map, no success.. so either TACAN can't see VORDME stations, or it is not modelled in DCS, or the DCS F/A-18 can't do it. Does anyone have any answers/thoughts to this? Thanks in advance, Fresh p.s. I tried the F-5E as well.. no luck. Check out the VORDME near Kutaisi (KT on 113.6 MHz, with co-located DME on channel 83X) - TACAN set to 83X doesn't display any distance. VOR-Frequencies-to-TACAN-Channel-list.pdf

Initial call to CV marking mom's radial in true rather than magnetic
Fresh replied to Fresh's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi everyone, just giving this issue a nudge.. it should be a quick fix just adding the variation to the bearing from.. Thanks, Fresh -
You're not alone GremlinIV, it is still happening for me. I think the "Legarcy" version is now a SC version, because, if I understand correctly, all CVN-71 to CVN-75 are now SC. (Will try to find the link confirming this...) Let us know if you find a fix! Fresh Here's the link where Wags says 71-73 in Early Access, 74-75 after early access..

I think you have to request launch before getting near the JBD. If you are already too near or in front of the JBD, it doesn't sense you crossing the JBD and then it doesn't "see" you.

unable to reproduce Wings rip off with passing through wake turbulence
Fresh replied to Talonx1's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi, I've had this many times. If you are pulling high G, and cross the wake turbulence from the enemy it can increase your AOA, so you generate too much lift, which breaks your wing. If you are fast (e.g. >500 KIAS) the effect is worse. I don't know how realistic it is, but in theory it is conceivable. Fresh -
Hi there, I also use the HP G2. The HUD seems fine for me, not perfect, (more a lighting problem at night or with sunlight glare), but the font size etc. is good. Can you post a screenshot so we can compare? Is DCS installed in the default folder? Does your user name have a space or accent in it? Check Anti-Virus Software.. (All to do with the font installation, see October 2021 chat in this thread). Ah, just remembered, check your IPD checkbox in VR settings, I have it deselected... But this will affect all your 'distance' in every airplane you fly.. Another thing, check this out if you are a HP G2 user: try going native with OpenXR, no more flickering screens during loading missions and startup... Good luck! Fresh null

Just something that got me the first time I used the pedals: the force was reversed, I mean I had to release the brakes to brake, and brake to not brake.. check that the pilot animation is moving the brake pedals the same as you are. I had to invert the axis signal in the control settings to make it work correctly..

Roll Input structural failure modeling is incorrect.
Fresh replied to =475FG= Dawger's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello everyone, please try with wake turbulence off.. I noticed hitting my own wake or that of the bandit I am chasing caused me to break up.. in an F-18.. I am not saying it will fix the problem, but at least one variable can me removed from the equation. -
I understood it opposite to what Marlan wrote... check out the manual on page 354: I might have an old manual on my iPad right now... I'll check tomorrow.. The latest manual still has that same text as above.. thinking about it, if you have a wide gate you let more people through, and a narrow gate less, if you want to think of it like that..

Hi Typhoondaz,
did you get Bankler's Case 1 to load? Looking at your screenshots you may be putting it in the wrong place:
C:\Users\Typhoondaz\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions
Replace "Typhoondaz" with your username on your PC.
In the game you have to go via the "Missions" button, not via the "Training" button.
Good luck!

Hi Bankler, I'm using version 7.1.0 and can't get the pattern mode to work. I start with the first slot (in flight), use break mode and land. Then I change to pattern mode and takeoff. When I get to the 90° I get a message that I am in pattern mode and have to fly 0.5 miles past the boat before breaking.. I ignore that and land, but don't get any scoring. Let me know if you need a video or trak file. Thanks for your great mission, I use it a lot! Fresh

Hi, I also noticed this, it is always "Courage".. should be changing with ship.. Attached pic from the excellent document found here: https://www.scribd.com/document/526072699/Aircraft-Carrier-Operating-Procedures-for-DCS-v01-8

You can just press "active pause" until you are ready.. (but to be honest, it is available in the Hornet, not sure if the Tomcat has it...)

Anyone found a solution, or the clickable area? I can't close the canopy either with my mouse.. I found a mouse area ahead that seems to slide the canopy back a little.. trying to go throught the cold start tutorial...

Just thinking out loud: wouldn't it be better to append a 5 instead of a 0? The 6 numbers give you a "box" and adding the 5 puts you in the middle of the box instead of in the corner of the box. Anyone with the same thought or a contradicting opinion? (I guess it depends also on who/how the original grid was chosen..)

how to make SAR helicopter have same speed as carrier
Fresh replied to probaco's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
As joey45 writes, you can get the helicopter to follow the carrier.. have it start on the deck, and then takeoff and follow. Works fine for me. The question I had was then which helo to choose, the navy one with gunners, or the anti-sub one , couln'd find a SAR version. -
Thanks guys for your answers! Helps a lot. I thought, there must be a way of knowing how cold it is outside (more or less minus ram rise). I was flying in clouds and thinking, hmmm, is it +10°C or -10°C? Sure, I could look at the mission briefing and note the ground temp and deduce with the lapse rate.. but that is too academic

Hello, does anyone know where I can see any form of outside air temperature, SAT, TAT etc. when I'm in the cockpit? I'd like to have an idea when to switch on Pitot Heat, Eng. Heat etc.. Thanks, Fresh
