I'm not familiar with that mission, but the new deck crew logic is fussy and with MP spoils it for everyone when it hiccups.. suggest reverting to old deck crew if you are more than 4 clients...

Any way to display SA aircrafts altitude permanently?
Fresh replied to Herasteane's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
@Viral-51st-Vfw You SA page dropping the stepped target is probably because you moved the cursor (unintentionally), try increasing your deadzone. -
Good catch! I'll have to watch out for that next time I fly, thanks!

The teleportation only works when you are stopped and the wings are folded. So if you can't fold your wings, you can't teleport. This is also annoying for T-45C users, as the game demands you fold the wings, which you can't..

Carrier IFLOLS overbright…..and overlay query
Fresh replied to markturner1960's topic in Bugs and Problems
I would also like to add, that using Pimax Chrystal Light, the IFLOLS are too blurry to discern my position. I would also appreciate a slider to adjust the brightness. @markturner1960 You can move the IFLOLS overlay in VR, click and drag the title. I haven't found a way to dim it though... Fresh -
I agree, this is not ideal. Solution at the moment is to just leave it on, instead of "glance" mode... but eats performance..

I read that for the teleportation to work, you have to fold your wings ;-/ In the meanwhile posted a thread in the bugs section...

Good day, I know the T-45C is a mod, so please bear with me.. The deck crew ask me to fold the wings after landing, which I can't, so basically I have to respawn. Can anyone tell me what code I need to put in the .lua files to stop this behaviour? In the VNAO_T45.lua the code defines the aircraft has a fixed wing: wing_type = 0 further down in that file (under mechanimations part) it says: FoldableWings = {-- necessary for AI to not get stuck at end of cat launch {Transition = {"Retract", "Extend"}, Sequence = {{C = {{"Arg", 85, "to", 0.0, "in", 5.0}}}}, Flags = {"Reversible"}}, {Transition = {"Extend", "Retract"}, Sequence = {{C = {{"Arg", 85, "to", 1.0, "in", 5.0}}}}, Flags = {"Reversible", "StepsBackwards"}}, So any help is appreciated to solve this issue. Hi @dresoccer4, I did some tests yesterday, and the new SC Crew does create new problems: 1. Since you cannot communicate with ATC, you get red flares shot at you when you are just about to land. 2. After landing the second deck crew will tell you to stop, because it is waiting for you to fold your unfoldable wings.. 3. Pressing LCtrl+LShift+LAlt+T to teleport to parking didn't work for me.. I will do more testing.. I was using Bankler's Case I trainer mission.

Sun shows up before the sun rise time
Fresh replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in General Bugs
Hi, just to avoid another source of frustration, the maps are flat, there is no curvature etc. of the earth. On large maps you might think the sun rises earlier for a point on the east compared to a point to the west, but the sunrise is the same everywhere. Also, arctic winter or summer happens for the whole map (e.g. Kola map), even if you are south of the arctic circle ~66ºN. (Or north of the Antarctic circle ~66ºS). I have to do some testing to see if the center of the map is the reference point... -
@Bonz Hi, when you are in the F10 map view, there is a compass rose. You can drag the title of that compass rose to any location, and see the magnetic variation there. In the mission editor you can see it at the bottom. Fresh

@materiagris Bankler's mission is using TACAN on 72X, BRC 353, it is working for me.. see attached image.
-
@materiagris@Logan54 Hi, I also have a problem getting the TACAN to work properly on a carrier, but when I load Bankler's Case 1 Trainer for the T-45C it works fine.. I think there is something that has to be done in the mission editor.. I will investigate further. I flew at Kutaisi, and there the TACAN and ILS worked fine. I will have more time in December for tinkering. I'll try to make the CDI disappear if there is no TACAN signal being received. Fresh
-
Looking at your Kutaisi case, I think that may be correct, you are 0.2 NM from the station, and the station is not on the runway... I will see if I can follow your other issues next.. Have a nice evening/day. Fresh

@materiagris can you check if at the bottom the "CRS" is boxed. I find that when it is boxed it seems to work.. but I agree, the behaviour is probably incorrect... see attached image.

Hi @materiagris, thanks for telling me, I'll have a look when I have time next.. o7

correct as-is Checklist weight page is incorrect!
Fresh replied to Paarthunax's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi @Lord Vader, @Paarthunax, I think it is the other way around, the rearm page is not accounting for pylons, but the aircraft is.. see above. BRGDS, Fresh -
correct as-is Checklist weight page is incorrect!
Fresh replied to Paarthunax's topic in Bugs and Problems
@Tholozor I agree with your testing. The armament page doesn't account for the mass of the pylons. Also the mission editor has a unknown "Weapon" of 130 lbs, and I reason that is for the two LAU-116 on the cheeck stations (2x 65 lbs) Missing masses: 2x LAU-116 = 130 lbs 1x SUU-62 = 139 lbs 4x SUU-63 = 310 x 4 = 1240 lbs For a total of 1509 lbs See attached image. Here is a Google Table to use to compare/test: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HhVtqnUz6esMMMACH5DuwJJswHPZbkYqfmfESMM7hF4/edit?usp=sharing BRGDS, Fresh -
It works on ground, but try the other way "/". Inflght you cannot talk to ATC or anyone for that matter.. it is not implemented. Use SRS to talk to other players. Fresh

The current AirBoss information screen, with wind strenth etc. is not very user-friendly, it would be great if the following information would be available (and correct): True wind speed and direction. Direction should be relative to magnetic north and show the direction the wind is coming from. (Ideally have a toggle to select between magnetic or true north). (This is the wind sensed if the boat was not moving, at deck height) Apparent wind speed and direction. As above, where the wind is blowing from. This is the wind felt on deck, including the boat's movement. Two indications showing the apparent crosswind component, one relative to BRC, and one relative to FB, or a toggle. Ground speed of the boat and ground track of the boat. Have wind push the boat, so heading is not equal to ground track.. create leeway/drift.. basically more nautical information is needed... google sailboat instruments.. or even better get something from a real carrier Thanks! Weight Discrepency (Checklist/ ME vs Loadout menu)
Fresh replied to Shadow KT's topic in Bugs and Problems
@Q3ark I fully agree... but if you set 100% fuel in the mission editor, you expect a full tank. Which is 1589 gallons volume. The temperature determines the density of the fuel. Cold fuel is denser than hot fuel. DCS then calcules what mass the 1589 gallons has, but unfortunately they got it the wrong way round, making cold fuel less dense and vice versa. Once the mission starts the fuel mass should stay constant (minus fuel burned).. the volume can vary, hot fuel expanding. If DCS were to simulate a float type sensor in the tank and displaying that as pounds, the full tank would always show the same mass, but it doesn't. Basically with hot fuel and a full tank there should be less than 10803 pounds indicated. With cold fuel and full tanks there should be more than 10803 pounds indicated. (10803 lbs is the mass for JP-5 at 15°C). DCS at the moment inverts the density effect. (If you agree, please make a comment in my bug report, link is above..) -
Weight Discrepency (Checklist/ ME vs Loadout menu)
Fresh replied to Shadow KT's topic in Bugs and Problems
Be advised, the fuel mass changes with temperature... and also with spawn altitude. (Since that changes temperature).. The rearming window assumes full external tanks when you add them: 2535 lbs total mass with 2244 lbs fuel mass at 15°C. The empty tank weighs 291 lbs. The slider has no effect on the external fuel tank content (unless you run them dry first). I've been working on a loadout calculator, check it out below. (Credit to @kengou for his original I used to start with). This bug report may be interesting/relevant: Public F_A-18C Loadout Editor - 20240723 - Fresh.xlsx -
investigating Incorrect fuel density calculation in the Hornet
Fresh replied to Fresh's topic in Bugs and Problems
I now tried a standard ISA day (15ºC at sea level) and spawned at 40,000 feet and at 4,000 feet. The resulting fuel mass (as indicated) changes with OAT/altitude. Unfortunately the higher(colder) you spawn, the less fuel you get, assuming the spawned volume is the same in the Hornet. The NATOPS manual (2.2.10) says the fuel density can vary from 6.13 pounds/gallon at 100°F to 7.38 pounds/gallon at −40°F, the total internal fuel quantity with full tanks can vary from 9,740 pounds to 11,730 pounds for the F/A-18C. I think DCS is correcting the volume for temperature, instead of the mass for temperature at mission start. If I fill the tanks full when I set 100% in the armament page or in the mission editor, I am expecting the volume to be full, i.e. constant 1589 gallons, and therefore the mass should vary. (It does vary, but the wrong way round). Once the mission starts the total mass of fuel should stay constant (minus burned/dumped/jettisoned/leaked fuel). The volume should change with temperature after mission start, not the mass.
