So i recently done a fresh install of Win11 and then installed DCS Openbeta, and have been running game, but after the recent update, my install didnt auto update. I then downloaded latest version of the updater and put it in my bin folder, quit dcs, and ran updater, and it said there was an update available, and after about an hour of downloading it said something along lines of curl error 6, but now when i try upgrade it says the server cannot process my request, basically straight away, and ive tried 12hrs apart. Based on another post i tried "ping cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com" in CMD and said could not find host. On another post it said delete autoupdate.dat and rerun updater, but now wont even run the updater, just boots into DCS. Plz Halp !!

So the longer track was Raven One mission called "missing man" (M06 i think), but the 2nd one was from serpents head 2, called, "going for the chop". Going for the chop might be better for testing as it seems to do it from launch, and its hot start.
-
Here is a much quicker one, in serpents head 2, hotstart, i enter tacan and says its 59nm away when im on deck trk file https://1drv.ms/u/s!At0GpYr4F5ZC6wpUsJHYt2Fs7gHN?e=7sRq1K

I just quickly retried the mission, it seems ok up until the point i enter the course for the tacan (in this vid its a bit before push time at 0750ish). sorry for the length of track couldnt workout how to edit, but you can also see as i approach the ship the tacan still says 30nm, then after flyby it goes 30nm behind me Track link https://1drv.ms/u/s!At0GpYr4F5ZC6wl52Vytyx8gtFQz?e=XAmk3h

So im playing back through Raven One and ive noticed (more than one mission) the TACAN on the ship is not where it should be. The first time i was on deck preparing for take off and it said the carrier was 20nm behind me. The mission i just played then though (missing man), seemed to locate ok at first then next glance noticed it was off, then on retrieval it was moving all over the HSI as i circled about the boat, still not in correct position to me, as it was 15nm off my side when i was above the boat. ICLS seems to be ok, but TACAN/course line are way off. Ive not used the hornet anywhere else to see if its a campaign thing or hornet bug but i assume the campaign would just use default navaids??

Sorry took a bit @UTurista, my missions got wiped and had to get back to this one, but thanks heaps for the video, appreciate you taking the time to make it! i do think it works, but the mission its self is pretty vague so had to guess some values (no elevation or sector) so wasnt exact but did manage to find em. Thanks again

i thought thats what i tried, but i will jump in sim and have a look tomorrow and report back ;)

I think QuiGon may have solved it, i timed out the pod on the ground and they went in. Not sure why didnt enter in the air that time, or why ive not encountered it before?? Here is the track file, if you still wanted to look, but this was with the pod on, but not yet timed https://drive.google.com/file/d/1k1U0OgRD9BGu8rzA-ZpjWuWqr3WJrB2G/view?usp=sharing Cheers for the help lads

Ive saved the track, but says its too large to link if i use the "choose files" part below? ive never uploaded a track before, is there a separate button im missing?

After the latest open beta update, i cant enter my laser/tgp code via list button on the DED, when i put the code that is in my kneeboard, it just goes back to "0". Tried entering with ground power before starting, and how i normally do it, during start up procedure (also in the air after my first gbu's missed). As result GBU's dont track to target

Wow !! wata pain in the butt, makes you wonder why theyd even include this style mission Thanks for the info

Im working my way through the red flag campaign, and in this mission the JTAC gives coordinates in MGRS (NB627583), so i watched Wags video on converting coordinates to MGRS (select sp21, dobber right) and it does convert, i fill out all the info, but no waypoint shows up, and if i hit RTN, and go back into 4 "STPT" , all the data is reset again. In wags video, he already has the long/lat inserted and just does the conversion, and all other vids are 1-2 years old and only enter in long/lat, so not sure how to enter the data in MGRS. Any idea what im doing wrong or is it a bug?
-
nope, actually i didnt , will check now, ALTHOUGH i did go into axis controls and there wasnt any off centre white bars or anything, only when i moved my controls

Noticed since probably couple updates back that the A10C is flying on an 3-4 degree angle now?! doesnt really matter on the stores/clean jet, and it only seems to be effecting the legacy version, but after take off it starts rolling to the right, to which i trim out but then the plane is flying on an angle. There doesnt seem to be any asymmetrical thrust, all SAS are on and if i press CTRL + T to reset all trims, it slowly starts to roll over to the right eventually crashing. On heading hold it also banks the aircraft to maintain heading (if it doesnt disconnect completely) EDIT: I noticed on external view the rudders were slightly turning right (even though the yaw trim wheel was centred, and i reset trim with ctrl + T), which i guess can be fixed by adding L yaw, but should it not be centred at launch, plus its heavily yawing right with centred trim which doesnt seem correct?! Where do we report such bugs?

I Think thats the intention of how its meant to be, seen it in one of the reapers "mirage updated" videos, its just the they havent updated the training missions since launch. There was other info missing in the next 2 training missions too, so ive just been using youtube instead. With such complex modules, updating these missions should be crucial imo with the co-ordinates, i think you just put the whole number in thats in the kneeboard, even though it goes off the screen and press insert, then the whole number comes up at the top of your screen... unless i misread what u mean?
-
Just bought the module, same issue, in the training session, it tells us to change the prep to WP1 by double clicking. Also it says set knob to L/G (it already is) and press 1 or 7 to edit the co-ordinates and when i do nothing happens?! For a training module it sure does leave a lot of info out, assuming people are already familiar! Thanks for info @Ramsay

Oh, so if its on 38T already, just go 37T, and vice versa, gotcha (tbh i probably shoulda tried that instead of all the 00 combinations haha).. Great campaign though, im upto the last mission now, and its been epic! Thank you
-
But if i just enter the 6 digit version it sends me way off target (by 400 miles or so), so what am i doing wrong? That KN545441 is not specific, seems to happen on all the 6 number co-ordinates in this campaign. do i need to change the 38T part? personally would prefer that info in the dialogue, if that is the case.. Just needa find them foreheads!!

i thought i tried "00"'s before and after but will try again an report back! Im sure its something simple #angrilywavesfistatusererror

@baltic_dragon Can you offer any help? its making completing this campaign very difficult! Cheers

Im having issues entering the UTM style cordinates in this campaign, as the campaign gives you 6 digits (eg. KN 545 441) but UTM has 10 numbers (eg. KN 54521 44162), and if i just enter the 6 digit style in it comes up 400 miles away. The missions dont give you the 37T part of utm either, which is sometimes different, so im not sure if thats the part im entering wrong or not? ive re-watched 10 different vids on WP entry in case ive missed something, but none mention the 6 digit format. i tried filling out the 10 spaces with zeros but no success there either. I was able to visually spot targets in previous, more confined missions, but now cant progress any further.

Its something to do with doing a day mission before, if you restart the game and do the night mission first it will go back to normal, still, is pretty annoying, but a workaround for now at least ! Ive been playing since launch of 2.7 and its been present all along
