The Shore in 1.1.0.7 is completely broken
Spectre_USA replied to jazjar's topic in Mission and Campaigns
I haven't tried A-10C in MP yet either, as my evening 10 hour shift disallows it. Also, as an update, it looks like my experiment confused the campaign, as the next mission, described as BAI above, was The Shore 07. I failed it, well, got 74%, because I was in a hurry, and it kicked me back to the Shore 04. Will have to re-try it when I get the time... -
The Shore in 1.1.0.7 is completely broken
Spectre_USA replied to jazjar's topic in Mission and Campaigns
I bypassed the brokenness! I merely renamed Shore4, then took an MG mission and named it that. Flew it, passed it, and got presented with a BAI mission. W00t! Pressing on to the goal... -

Meh, FireFox approved of the spelling, so I went with it. I also make up words all the time, so there ya go! -
The Shore in 1.1.0.7 is completely broken

FUBAR is an appropriate term, as I haven't found a way to fix it, as expressed in the thread TheShore04. The first 2 campaigns I finally finished, with a judicious tweak here, and some nip/tuck action in the editor. My quest to complete all 3 is stymied by the brokenness of this one. I may just press on with the rest through singles to see how broken they are, as I am getting a bit burnt out on my own quick missions... -
It is a real hoot, except for the LONG flight time, not unlike the first in the Shore series. I have never monkeyed with the CMP builder, but as I cannot figure out how to get this integral part of the mission operational, I may give it a go. I am driven to complete all the campaigns, and the mission generator is getting a bit old after making and tweaking a half dozen or so. I just hope the next patch has these flipping things fixed. I could see if it was missing a BMP or SAM site, no big deal. But if it is needed to pass onto the next mission, it darned well ought to work...

I treat the ATC's as instilling guidance, not hard and fast laws. If I wait, after an ICT, at the threshold, and get no response to a couple of calls, and there is no other aircraft within 10 miles, inclusive of ground taxiers, I just move on, listen to him double-pump "cannot clears" and wait for him to shuddup after I rotate. If you have a big mission, with a few jets in the pattern, you'll get the "orbit for spacing" until they are all safely tucked away in Tab-vees. Again, I check the area via map, and ensure no other aircraft is on approach, or rolling out after landing, and pop it onto the runway. I had a helo land on the active while damaged, and they bailed out on the runway. It was a tricky approach, but I set it down anyway, as it was never going to be cleared, and the other jets and helos just circled...

Are There Downloadable Missions To Add to Wathog ?
Spectre_USA replied to ErichVon's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Well, if they aren't broken, like the Shore #4, and aren't pass/fail, then yeah, they have to be better than the campaign missions at the very least... -
Yeah, I could just negate all harmful entities, but it still doesn't negate the fact that the radio button for the recce portion never lights up. Thanks for the heads up on the miz/zip situation, I'll give that a look Zamboni... ___EDIT___ That worked. Took a look at the "mission" file in notepad, and it does show a "report route A", B & C. What is causing it to not generate as it should is beyond me. 574 KB of text is a whole lot of verbiage. Will have to go into extended mumble mode for this one... >Er, mumble, mumble< :D

I'll take it, after 3 days, that the answer is "no." I tried putzing around with it in the Mission Editor, but cannot figure out how to fix it, the only item presented on the F10 menu is a call for fighter support. If the MIZ files were editable in notepad, I would search for the missing menu item, but alas, it is not. Help?

After struggling through the first two full campaigns, having to use PeterKorn's fixed first 2 missions, being shredded by MiG's or torn asunder by a half-dozen Gecko's is just too darned much. Especially after having to fly for close to an hour just to get to the area to get your arse handed to ya. Whoever built the first and last campaigns is a real sadist, especially since it is a pass/fail system. Georgia Hammer, by comparison, is a very fun campaign. Does anyone have a working Shore4.miz that they'd be willing to share?
-
Look at any of the Georgia Hammer missions, which are brilliant BTW, and check the Radio1 and Radio2 trigger zones...

I would love to see JStars in this adventure, but I fear that is the only way you will get command level notification of ground targets. All I've ever heard is air callouts from Magic and his brethren...

Where is saved the progress of Campaign?
Spectre_USA replied to YoYo's topic in User Created Missions General
They should all be in the logbook.lua in the mission editor directory of the path you have above. I just did a delete and re-install last weekend, and pressed on with my Georgian Hammer campaign from a saved logbook file. -
HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C
Spectre_USA replied to ClearDark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
`Preciate thequick & positive answer, and the work you have done on this very cool 'sounding addition. I may hold off on the experiment `til the weekend, as I just did a re-install for some other issues I was having. No need to muddy the waters until I'm sure it is stable. Many thanks, rep +1! -
Another questions about external lights procedures
Spectre_USA replied to Gandalf_56's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I have used the keyboard substitutes, and found that "all external" off switch. It didn't seem to work. I had other issues over the weekend and just did a re-install this morning, full 1007 version, after nuking the directory. Maybe my other issues, which on cursory glance are resolved, also held this up. I'll take a look tomorrow morning, as I work nights, on a mission in the dark... -
HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C
Spectre_USA replied to ClearDark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What are the odds of this running on a Windows 2008 Server as a Client over the network to a Win7-64 system running A-10C? I have a 12" mini-monitor I use on the server as an Email/PDF reader type of thing, as it doesn't play nice with the games tower. Just thought I'd inquire before I downloaded and started trying to beat it into submission... :D -
Another questions about external lights procedures
Spectre_USA replied to Gandalf_56's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I have found out how to squelch all external lighting except one. Aft of the cockpit, on top, bright white. Lower right panel, nor joy. One over to the left by the gear handle, no soap. Anyone else able to extinguish it? I am tempted to roll inverted over a light machine gun and let them blast it off... -
I wish the super-efficient wingies would saddle up on my wing. Mine usually tend to describe what is about to kill them. "Oh look, there's some AAA. How cool, a flappin' SAM." Then he proceeds to catch a little of each, and punches out. Had one this afternoon describe his site-seeing, then proceed to overfly an announced Shilka, and then lob a Maverick at a SAM from about a mile, and got torn up by both. This was after I had him anchor 10 miles from the FEBA, took a couple of runs on my own to thin the herd for him, but he still plodded right into the worst stuff available, when asked to eliminate air defenses. I guess by trying to make them use up their ammo...

The biggest thing for me is the lack of CTD's. Prior to the patch, over this last weekend, I tried this one campaign mission, and on two separate occasions, in totally different situations, >bang<, Windows has... Flew the same mission this afternoon, nary a hiccup. It is just nice that when I get that slight hesitation, like when the armor you are CAS-ing for appears and radios that they are up, it is just that, a hesitation, and not a frozen game, with an Alt+Tab to view the death message. So far, so good, and am really liking it! I just hope the next one has Nellis...
-
Sure, just like Beggar's canyon, but without the whomp rats. :D And yeah, I am also looking forward to it's re-introduction, as it was what I flew 90% of the time before it was ripped, mercilessly. I have enough CTD's and other errors without re-introducing Nellis as a possible source of more. Maybe after I finally complete all 3 campaigns. 2 down, the hard way, one to go...

Did anyone get the UH-60 to pick up the ground-bound Falcon pilot? I did the mission solo, as the wingies never took off, so a 4 shipper is a waste. My main issue is the dipstick helo driver not wanting to get grass stains on his tires. There has to be a trigger fix for that...

I nwas over on my other system, making LOW flybys of the Blackhawk, and found this thread after considerable searching. :D Have since tweaked take off from runway, increased LZ 100 feet, and unhid "Jolly" so I can track him via map. I hope this is enough...

Little further, GH 11-2, BMPs no show?
Spectre_USA replied to Spectre_USA's topic in Mission and Campaigns
That seemed to work, but in eye-balling this aspect for the BMP's, I found a couple of other groups with day 1, and even day 2 errors. I had not realized the last number in the time related to the day of initialization! You can time things out days in advance? Gnarley. I have seen the magical appearance of an SA-15 on a GH mission, which is just flipping rude! It wakes up, you're dead... -
Little further, GH 11-2, BMPs no show?
Spectre_USA replied to Spectre_USA's topic in Mission and Campaigns
Roger, roger. Will make change and report back after I've got some time to fly it. `Cheers, Wags... -
Well, I got further along in the campaign from my last thread start, after the suggestions for 4-2 & 4-3 worked well, but this one has me stumped. The goal, attrit some BMPs. Sounds easy enough, they are a little deep, and there are some fearsome SAMs and AAA sites in the area, to the point of being alone in the skies after the SEAD, CAS'ers and CAP'ers were culled, but eventually took out every enemy unit on the map. The problem? Not one of them was a BMP-3. They can be seen on the mission planner map, and, after not progressing twice, I checked the mission editor read of push 11-2. They show up there, with no special triggers of anything I can see. I won't even pretend to be a mission editor specialist, but I cannot see anything that would cause them to not show up, and make the scenario unwinnable. I've flown it 3 times, get good point totals, but no mission complete, and the presentation of a push 12-x mission. Anyone else been here, and know how to fix it?
