I think I paid $50+ CDN for F/A-18 Interceptor in 1988. Thirty years later I personally don't think $60 for DCS F/A-18 is excessive. :pilotfly: Cheers

Same problem here. Required reboot of the Oculus software to resolve every time. Is now being replaced under warranty. "I remember reading but can't find it now about someone who turned off by mistake 6dof and that when they moved over to look out the cockpit the cockpit moved away. Actually the focus of the field moves with the pilot...how do you get 6dof back?"

Sling loading in the Huey for the first time. Did not see message, but I had the doors open and leaned out and looking down I could see the cable connected. Super cool to lift off and see the cargo swinging below the chopper! Love it! Would be nice to have option for a crew bubble door window.

Anyone Else Having an Issue with the 60% off sale?
lobo replied to Cavemanhead's topic in Payment and Activation
Yeah, my problem is that my bonus points are gone. Evaporated, zero, zip, zilch, nada. "Bonus debiting (1 year expiry) -$27.00" Bummer. -
Are you adjusting the eye point vertically as well as fore and aft?
-
I always have to adjust my eyepoint. RCTRL + RSHFT + KP4,2,6,8 = Moves your eyepoint L,D,R,U respectively RCTRL + RSHFT + KP*, KPMinus = Moves your eyepoint fore and aft RALT + KP0 = Saves your current eyepoint position KP5 Recenters your view

Thanks ED. The command bars are much more realistic and useful now!

lol you heard correct. nugget n: An inexperienced aviator. example "Ok nugget, kick the tires, light the fires."

Yes, it is not just in DCS.

Hey just an FYI. I had exactly the same problem, sound but no visuals. Message that HDMI not connected. Found that the Rift's HDMI cable has bent pins. Very hard to see. Magnifying glass or take a macro pic... Working with OR customer support to get a new cable sent to me. Hope this helps.

I would go grey. A-10C cockpit is grey. F/A-18 cockpit is grey. Plus you want that work of art to stand out not disappear with black.

Curious if you are using the Universal 2-piece curved VR Dev Mount? or did you have the sensor directly attached to the Rift?

Summery of Q&A Session with an A-10C pilot, asked by DCS players
lobo replied to Raistlen007's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
"Big differances: The actual A-10 is much more forgiving than the game when it comes to how much AOA you can demand without stalling." I wonder if ED would consider looking at this ^ with an eye to possibly tweaking the flight model? -

Very interesting. I just tried this as Brixmis described above. It certainly allows you to have an infrared view of your real world immediate surroundings, projected via the leap motion, and viewed in the rift. Some comments: 1) It is outside of DCS. You are alt-tabbing between dcs and the visualizer. 2) What you see is exactly like in the video in first post of this thread. 3) Weird to be able to interact with real world while seeing your hands displayed as virtual objects. 4) Easy to make out keyboard, mouse etc. Hard to make out individual keys as you are viewing an infrared image. 5) Useful to find out, without taking the rift off, what you just banged your head into. Don't ask me how I know. (ok... it involves me, an A-10C with open canopy, trying to lean out of the cockpit enough to see the extended ladder, and a real world wall.)

Resolution settings under the options tab when using Rift
lobo replied to sohei's topic in Virtual Reality
What does this achieve? (2160x1200) -
That's a beautiful VR sim setup. You are going to love it in the rift. I've got a sim seat with stick and throttle mounted in the proper position and headrest. See pic here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2825640&highlight=sim+seat#post2825640 My seat with a monitor was pretty good. My seat with the rift is AWESOME. You see the stick in front of you in VR and reach out and it is in the right spot in r/l. Same with throttles/pedals and the headrest. Also I can leave the seat in a corner of the room (not have to haul it out to the monitor) I just move the rift headset to my sim seat. You are going to be VERY happy I predict. I also really like that you have a spot for your monitor. What are your plans for keyboard? Fantastic job! Looking forward to updates. Cheers

What resolution are you all running DCS at while using the rift?
-
Agree. Appt made for contacts next week. The glasses just not working with the Rift for me. If they are already scratched with just a few days use what are they going to be like in 6 months? For me without the glasses I have to go back to using contacts. With no correction it is just a blurry mess.

Well after only a few days use, my CV1 has scratches on both lenses... does not appear to be enough room between rx glasses and the CV1 lenses. :(
