  1. Hi Zimmerdylan I guarantee you the A-10 has wheel brakes. :smilewink: Tech Sgt. Michael Sharum, a crew chief with the 188th Fighter Wing, conducts preflight brake checks on a running A-10C Thunderbolt II prior to taxi during a Unit Training Assembly November 7, 2009. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech Sgt. Stephen Hornsey) http://www.188wg.ang.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/091107-F-6918H-004.jpg It still seems weird to me that there is no parking brake. Wonder what the logic is behind that?
  2. Thanks for that writeup! Nice. re the brakes I think you mean there is no parking brake. Cheers
  3. Oh, there are bigger problems... [ame] [/ame]
  4. IRL this area seems to work fine for United States Air Force, United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, United States Army and NATO allies in Red Flag etc. I can't see why it would be any worse in the DCS world compared to using the Black Sea map? Seems to me the NTTR map could substitute for any number of real world desert theater of operations. What am I missing?
  5. What is the best (most suitable) DCS module for use with the Rift? Looking for comments from those who use a rift version (DK2 or CV1) with DCS. The A-10C is my favorite, but I am worried about the resolution and inability to read displays adequately... Is the CV1 resolution be good enough to use/fight the A-10C? Thanks
  6. Why not do it simple? 1) Remove the front thumb screw holding down the detent cover. 2) Cut piece of black flexible rubber to approximately 20x20 mm size. (adjust as req'd). 3) Drill or punch a hole in rubber appropriate for thumb screw. 4) Replace thumb screw using a washer through the rubber detent. The thumb screw/washer holds the rubber in place. The rubber acts as a detent providing resistance for the throttle to push through at the desired point of resistance. Adjust width of rubber detent to adjust resistance, adjust the length of rubber to adjust where resistance is felt. No need to lift throttle over the fuel cutoff gate. All mods done at your own risk. See this video regarding the thumb screws. [ame] [/ame]
  7. Looks like you did not disengage nose wheel steering. Turn it off by 80 kts. It will be much easier to control on the takeoff roll.
  8. Hours after the Metrojet news conference, the Russian government contradicted the company’s assertions. “Such a statement is premature and is not based on any real facts,” Alexander Neradko, the head of the federal Air Transportation Agency, said on the Rossiya-24 news channel. “Much more work will have to be done on a detailed study of the plane’s constructive elements; flight recorders will have to be deciphered and analyzed.”
  9. Nicely done Stormbat!
  10. Re the HUD brightness. This has been a minor pet peeve of mine. IMO the HUD does not brighten enough for bright ambient lighting conditions. IRL the Rockwell Collins HUD (HGS) I use at work brightens enough to be visible in bright light.
  11. Awesome update. Graphics are improved, FPS is increased! I am seeing 120+ fps. Turned off DOF as it had significant impact on FPS. Nicely done ED! i7-4790K, GTX670-2 GB, 16GB Kingston Hyper X1600, Windows 10
  12. LOL. Brilliant!
  13. What did I miss?

  15. I want a Hawk
  16. 1.2.8. "Added initial Oculus Rift support, this does not include front end GUI yet." Anyone tried this in 1.2.8? What exactly is "initial Oculus rift support". Sounds very promising! Cheers.
  17. Dropship that is very nice. Amazing craftsmanship.
  18. Epoxy works great for fixing broke tir as well. That's how I fixed mr tir clip. They are fragile and easy to break.
  19. With the Crystal Cove strapped on can you see out the bottom at all, or around the nose area? I'm wondering if they have considered the need to view the outside world without taking the OR off... Could you get a glimpse of the keyboard while using it? What about reading text? ie on a HUD... Thanks for sharing!
  20. New pics looking great!
  21. What do you think would happen to a radar dish located inches above the gun, when that bad boy is fired? ;)
  22. I think when it comes out it will be awesome. When it is updated it will be awesomer. :joystick:
  23. Article: "I wore the new Oculus Rift and I never want to look at real life again." http://gizmodo.com/i-wore-the-new-oculus-rift-and-i-never-want-to-look-at-1496569598 Maybe the Oculus folks should get Brad Paisley to rework the lyrics in "The fishing song"... ;)
