  1. follow this link: you will need to make some lua changes. I completely reworked my thrustmaster warthog hotas with 2 and 3 way switches. For instance: the laste switch in up position now puts the autopilot in desired heading while switch down is desired track. Middle position is neither. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2472727#post2472727 The last 7 pages or so will give you enough information. The first post about the KA-50 is outdated information. You will need the information about the P51-D though. This information works the same for the ka-50. So be sure to read the first post but ignore the stuff about the ka-50. actually you need only this piece of information:
  2. In my opinion this is completely the wrong advice. Using flight director makes you neglect the auto pilot banks. Getting accustomed to them really helps your flying. I would advice flying without any auto-pilot banks to be able to fly the thing when it malfunctions. This is really not hard once you put some hours in the Huey. childlishly easy matter a fact. Knowing what the auto pilot banks do and how you use it will really pay off. When you are fighting the auto-pilot, you don't understand it. holding trim will deactivate all banks untill you release it into a new heading.
  3. I haven't tried it out yet BUT Wags mentioned a new Ka-50 campaign coming out this year!!!! so I figure they need it for that :)
  4. If you look in the joystick.lua's you will notice that usually in front of the surface control bindings they appended "combo". These controls are automatically mapped to each controller. I think this is from the day that people only used joystick and MAYBE a throttle. Nowadays people have loads of peripherals. and still these COMBO binds get bind to all devices. Even my logitech rumble pad. I don't know better than deleting all axis binds when I install a new module. Its mandatory when you have 2 joysticks, a throttle, a pedal and a gamepad and track ir. Maybe in 1.5 you don't need to perform spring cleaning in your binds when you install a new module. heres hoping.
  5. try a different mirror??

    Knobs

    ouch
  7. Cool :) :pilotfly:
  8. You don't mean CTRL - ENTER? to see what input all your peripherals give? I don't really get what you are asking for. Please elaborate.
  9. Hi the problem you have is weird.. Try posting a track from both missions. Fly the mission and when you get in the debrief screen select save track. Then upload on here by going to advanced messaging and clicking on the paperclip. Be sure you don't fly too long or the track will be too long to attach on these forums. In the mission editor you do the following. You find the plane which is yours. if you click on it you will see in top right corner if its the A10. you will also see player. Then middle/bottom right panel you will see something like 5 pictograms which are tabs. The second tab is the loadout I believe. Sometimes it will say when you click on it: Loadout not saved. Save it now? Click yes then to the left of the panel a new loadout will be created at the bottom (below all other loadouts) you highlight that loadout and change it or leave it at that. Then save the mission and fly. If it doesn't say loadout not saved you can create a new loadout. For the CAS mission 4 agm's is a good idea. These are the anti-tank missiles (mavericks)
  10. Hey Knightrider, I did some checking. Are you using the STEAM DCS World or Standalone DCS world? apparently the black shark 2 upgrade does not function with STEAM DCS World. Only with the standalone version. See this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124991 So if that's the case, simply download DCS World from ED and ignore the steam version. All Steam serials are interchangeable with the standalone version. You need to bind it to your account under your profile. Serials from the DCS website are NOT interchangeable with steam.
  11. No problem. Glad you got it sorted :)
  12. I Will check to see if I have the same problem. Also what do you mean with: The throttle is not there? Its not responding to your throttle input? What joystick and or throttle are you using? edit: its working fine here. You selected the FC3 instant mission A-10 CAS right? close air support. Be sure to bind the following: in modes - > 7 air to ground. this will switch your weapons and HUD to air to ground in weapons - > Cannon. This will not fire the weapon it will only show you the cannon targeting reticule when you are in a different mode in weapons - > Weapons fire. bind this to your trigger. This is CANNON FIRE only. and will work always i think in every mode. in weapons - > Weapons release. this will launch rockets or drop bombs. be sure to hold them longer than 1 second. In fact hold it untill released in weapons - > Change weapon. when you enter (7)air to ground, you can change the weapon untill you got what you want. for instance GBU's or mavericks. When a maverick is selected you will see a cross appear on your right MFD. then you have to slew the box around a target in there. binds are located in sensors i think. be sure to bind a button to lock so you can lock her up and then hold down weapons release to fire the missile.
  13. I know the US dollar is very strong at the moment and thus its cheaper for the Americans to buy the unit right now. I don't know if the Canadian Dollars are just as strong. Be forewarned though that it can take a while before your unit is sent. Milan has hired additional staff to manufacture the pedals in their carpenters plant but there still is a backlog. I had to wait 4 months but production has increased so you would be looking at 1 month maybe 2 months untill it arrives.
  14. Hi! You could open the mission editor and go to the following map: DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Missions\EN\QuickStart open the A-10A CAS.miz file and change the loadout of the plane. then save it. Make sure the name remains the same. To be on the safe side, in windows copy that file to somewhere else if you unintentionally muck things up in the file you can copy the original back.
  15. Hmm can't help you with the upgrade. I remember buying black shark 1 through direct2drive ages ago. I think I even have the upgrade. But for some reason I just bought Black Shark 2 at discount from ED. Maybe because I couldn't get the install to work or maybe because I simply forgotten I had the upgrade. Maybe open a new thread for that one. or file a ticket with customer service. hope you will be rocking the Black Shark soon! Still my most favorite module!
  16. Now thats weird.. also that your lua doesnt have the underscores and brackets... do you have both the trainer and the combat P-51D? sure you used it in the right map? Also if you use my code do you have 2 new function binds at the very top? I put a _space_ in front of the name so it shows on top. A tip from some other cool guys. You then would have to center the laste switch and double click on the new emergency/run and set the switch to UP to bind. recenter switch and double click the new idle/run bind and push the switch DOWN. I'll post my entire default lua in a second. default.lua Be sure this goes into: DCS World\Mods\aircraft\TF-51D\Input\TF-51D\joystick if you want to use this with the free TF-51D trainer. One further IMPORTANT NOTE: always Use Notepad++ (free download) for editting !!! or something similair. Regular Notepad will screw things up beyond believe!
  17. Well I went through 3 different sets of pedals. ages ago I got the saitek pedals for 70 bucks. But this lacked accuracy and has a large center spring and deadzone. Then I got the Logitech G940 hotas plus rudder because of the force feedback on the joystick. Eventually I removed the big ass spring from the pedal unit. The pedals are a bit more spaced but I found that still they lack accuracy and have a hardware center deadzone like the saitek. (I only now use the Joystick because the throttle broke down after several years of hard use :) Then I searched and searched... I ended up with the MFG Crosswind rudder pedals for 300 euros including shipping in europe. America will cost more i think. I included a set of spacers to increase the foot spacing and opted for the most realistic CAM 5 profile. (you get 2 profiles with it. CAM 4 and CAM 6) This thing is freaking awsome! For WWII crates the accuracy is unbelievable. everything from spring strength to pedal angle is adjustable. and the cam system is truly very innovative. You can opt for a noticable center or no center at all. For helo i just detach the spring and for planes I reattach the spring. just remember to untick the return rudder to center or rudder trim option in the miscelanous options for each helicopter. There are even more expensive pedals but they are primarily made for helo's and lack toe brakes. They also look like a few pieces of metal and rubber slapped together and will cost you about between 700 and 3000 euros. For me the MFG Crosswind is perfect and the quality is very very good! For most though its a bit expensive for a device with only 3 axes. best bang for buck in my book though.
  18. Apologies. yes I meant modern age planes you can get by somewhat without pedals.
  19. How? By waiting a few months until multi-crew code is implemented. or maybe pressing 1 or 2. I think I saw Wags flying in both positions. But he was rocking the 1.5 version which is about to come out later this month hopefully
  20. I too have the Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas. But I don't use the stick for Ka-50. I use my Force Feedback G940 joystick for that. I haven't tried using the thrustmaster stick for the helo's simply because FFB is more intuitive. Some people think its fine, some think it lacks accuracy. With a non forcefeedback stick you need to center the stick after trimming before the trim sets in. Some people extend their joystick so the stick is more accurate. You have a longer range that way. All in all you should be able to fly the Ka-50 with the warthog stick if it doesn't suffer from sticktion (ie stickyness) Rudder pedals are highly recommended flying helo's I wouldnt be able to fly one anymore without them. In planes you can get by without them.
  21. Yes this is correct. Why would you assume otherwise? We all bought the A10-C beta knowing we would "eventually" get the nevada map.
  22. Just install DCS world. Then in DCS world use the module manager to download all your modules "inside" DCS World. This saves tremendous bandwith.
  23. Hi ratherbegliding You made the changes in the wrong file. You have to use the information found in the devices lua and clickable lua and then add lines in the default lua or a copy thereof in the /input/joystick map. Hmm I might have jumped to this conclusion too soon. Why aren't you using Down = 3007 or 3011 and cockpit_device= 11? I have fiddled a bit with this. it was a bit confusing because there is mention of Command 11 and command 19 which seems conflicting. I have some working Lua for you: ! {down = device_commands.Button_11, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINE_SYSTEM, value_down = 0.0, name = _('Mixture IDLE CUT OFF'), category = _('Flight Control')}, {down = device_commands.Button_11, value_down = 0.0, up = device_commands.Button_11, value_up = 0.1, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINE_SYSTEM, name = _(' Idle/run'), category = _('Flight Control')}, {down = device_commands.Button_11, value_down = 0.2, up = device_commands.Button_11, value_up = 0.1, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINE_SYSTEM, name = _(' Emergency rich/run'), category = _('Flight Control')}, {down = device_commands.Button_11, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINE_SYSTEM, value_down = 0.1, name = _('Mixture RUN'), category = _('Flight Control')}, {down = device_commands.Button_11, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINE_SYSTEM, value_down = 0.2, name = _('Mixture EMERGENCY FULL RICH'), category = _('Flight Control')}, {down = device_commands.Button_20, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINE_SYSTEM, value_down = 1.0, name = _('Mixture control (rotary)'), category = _('Flight Control')}, I added the second and third line to the existing default lua in the joystick map. Enjoy :) edit: your code is actually not that different from mine. But you forgot some ()'s and _'s. Also I have done it in a different order. These may all matter or may not. I just started editing LUA 2 months ago so don't take my word for it. BUT I tested my lua in game and its working perfectly.
  24. Thanks for that further information. I love to know why things do the things they do :) I still haven't found anything about this in the manual however. If I missed this information I would very much like to know which page to turn.
  25. Thanks. flipping engine left to up. I trust this will be in the updated manual? Or have I failed to find this snippet in the current manual?
