  1. I just sat at Krasnodar in the 4YA OB EU server and at least 6 NASAMS hit a hostile in the overhead as I R'Rd. All exploded but had no effect on the aircraft at all. Dr Spankle
  2. Dear all, Thank you so much for the help - this forum really is full of people willing to help dullards like me. Would you believe that somewhere along the line my keyboard defaulted to Eng US (I'm in the UK), which moved a couple of very important buttons! I have now deleted that as an option so it can't somehow default back again, and all is good! Phew. Thanks again, Dr Spankle
  3. Yeah happy with that thanks Tom - I just changed this to see if I can get it to work at all, which I can't! The only thing I changed is the PC hardware which I've upgraded. I've set up the same VR headset, same controllers, same keybinds and the same version of DCS (the latest OB). Just a couple of days ago with Easy Comms selected I could play happily in the 4YA servers. When I got the Weasels Over Syria campaign I had to uncheck Easy Comms, but could still play as before in the 4YA servers with regards to bringing up the comms menu for Rearm/Refuel etc. Now, no matter if I chech Easy Comms or not I can't bring up the menu. WTF am I doing wrong?! Dr Spankle
  4. nullHere's my settings:null nullHelp me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope ...
  5. The issue is on the ground when I try to Rearm/Refuel in MP servers. As I couldn't do this I didn't bother getting airborne, so don't know if it's present in the air too. I have easy radio unchecked for the Viper Weasels campaign, and my HOTAS bind for \ still brought up the comms menu on my last pc (yesterday). Not sure what I'm doing wrong ... Dr Spankle
  6. I've just reinstalled 2.9 OB on a brand new PC and, having installed all my maps and the Viper, loaded my key bindings, I can't get the comms menu to open! The keybind shows '\' and all the other HOTAS binds work fine. Help! Dr Spankle
  7. Yeah I get 6MB/s on a hardwired connection to the router, even though my internet test gets 70+. Dr Spankle
  8. I'll ammend this to say that this happens on MP servers but not in a campaign. Hope that helps in some way! Dr Spankle
  9. I should have clarified - Pig is the term for a glide weapon (JSOW etc). For any normal gravity dropped weapon, dumb or guiged, the phrase is 'One Away' (if you dropped a single). Dr Spankle
  10. The accepted NATO term is 'One Away' for a dropped, gravity weapon, and 'Rifle' for a Maverick/Brimstone/Hellfire. There is no codeword 'Shack' for target destroyed while we're at it. 'Splash' is the only listed codeword for a succesful kill, to be used for either air or ground. Dr Spankle
  11. If you manoeuvre hard in the Viper the AP will disconnect, and you will see the switch move in the virtual cockpit. How does that resulting conflict in switch positions on the TQS (still physically set to on) affect the game? On a similar note, if I move a virtual cockpit switch using Voice Attack, will it still move if that switch is bound to its reprentative physical control on the TQS? Or does the TQS switch position overide everything? Questions, questions ... Dr Spankle
  12. Sorted thanks ChillNG - it was the Easy Radio check box. That and the fact I had the Space Bar bound to centre VR view! Dr Spankle
  13. I can't get permission to start in mission 1. I turn the battery on and request start but get no response. Dr Spankle
  14. I've reported this too - were you in a multiplayer server? It just worked for me in a campaign but not multiplayer. Dr Spankle
  15. I just tried it on a campaign and all is good, including the manual gain control on the TGP that I reported elsewhere. When I go on a multiplayer server though I get the same issues. Let me research how to create a track to replay and I'll do my best. Dr Spankle
  16. Even though I have a Sidewinder on the rail Dogfight mode doesn't automatically select it. It used to, and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to. Cheers, Dr Spankle
  17. Since 2.9 the Manual Gain Control Up/Dwn OSBs don't change anything. As far as I can see all the other OSBs are good. Cheers, Dr Spankle
  18. Is it possible to just change the aircraft type in one of the existing campaigns for the F18? Dr Spankle
  19. Thanks guys - as usual the forum dwellers here on DCS are a great help. Back in the day, in order to not have to use Steam VR there was a work around to force DCS to use Open XR - this is what I still do. It would seem I don't have to do this. So, from my reading and investigating it would seem I just have to add an extension (--force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR start )onto the exe to force it to open in VR (as long as my G2 is powered up) ... Am I getting warm? I don't have to open WMR? Thanks, Dr Spankle
  20. I think it was something to do with Opencomposite (and I don't know what that actually is ...). All I know is that, when I bought my G2, someone on YT told me I needed three files to drop into the .bin folder to make DCS run in VR. Do I not need to do that any more?
  21. Awesom thanks. Just need to sell a kidney and we're away ...
  22. Excellent thank you Motomouse! So there's no need to start dropping files into DCS folders or anything like that - I just install the Varjo software once and that's it? Sounds awesome. Am I right in saying the headset tracks the position of your eyes in order to increase the resolution of the are being looked at? Thanks, Dr Spankle
  23. Hi all, At the minute, to run DCS in my G2 I open WMR, then start DCS. After each update to DCS I need to copy and paste 3 files into the .bin folder which make DCS run in VR (I think). If I buy the Varjo Aero, what do I need to do in order to make DCS run in VR. Be gentle with me ... Dr Spankle
  24. Correct thermal signature for enemy vehicles. As it is, the airport ground support equipment show up as hot, (even though some of it, like the PAR antenna wouldn't) and enemy veheicles and SAMs, parked in amongst it all, who running their power units are considerably harder to see. Anything nunning a generator or engine shows up really well in IR on the pod.
  25. Thanks MAXsenna! Dr S
