  1. Yuuuup been experiencing this on and off since I started playing in VR. Used to think it was vram related, then thought maybe sound, so perhaps it was vram after all. Recently I have found immediately sending the Q2 to sleep the moment the FPS tanks (it goes down from 40 reprojected to 80, to stuck at 20 with no reprojection) for about 30 seconds fixed it. Happened twice today when I opened F10 in the hind, and it happens to me a LOT more in the hind than in other modules, which is why I used to think it was a vram issue. Oh, and when it happens on the Q2 this starts getting spammed in the OVR server console: This only happens in DCS, never had it happen in any other VR game. Used to have to always restart DCS to clear it, but like I said the last two times the moment it happened I sent the Q2 to sleep for about 30 secs, woke it up and it was clear. Perhaps that is clearing the vram, as nothing is on display while it's asleep. Still annoying as hell, and while bringing up F10 is one way to trigger the event it's far from the only one.
  2. Yeah if you're benchmarking at 4k you're benchmarking the GPU, even a significantly older/slower CPU can keep up with a top end GPU at 4k. Of course games like DCS can be an exception, where they require high end GPU's for 4k/ultra but also need faster CPU's due to poor optimisation. And VR is a different thing altogether with the additional CPU overhead. I believe CL14 3200mhz DDR4 still competes with very fast DDR5. It's an odd situation, might be a year or two till DDR5 really pulls ahead.
  3. Passmark isn't a game, it's a synthetic benchmark. Synthetic benchmarks can be (if they're not trash) very useful, but they aren't the gold standard for how CPU's will function in games. For that, you have to actually run them in games. And honestly I don't know why you'd refer to passmark over something like Cinebench. I'm hoping to see AMD continue with the 3d cache chips going forward, so you get to choose between say a 7800X that has excellent multithreaded performance for rendering workloads etc, and a 7800X3D that loses some multithreaded performance but has significantly better gaming performance. The rumor is that AM5 may launch without the option for a 3d cache chip, which would be a shame. I'd hold off until they release one if that ends up being the case. Either way, here's hoping it gets intel to cram more cache in as well.
  4. Unfortunately as far as I know, no tree mod works with multiplayer. And multiplayer is pretty much all I fly atm.
  5. I don't have any terrain or tree mods. The only mod I have installed is a cockpit mod for the hind. This is a vanilla problem.
  6. I even get it with them both maxed out iirc. Will try maxing them out and resetting to see if it fixes it, but it seems like either an engine problem or a problem with those tree models. Doesn't pass IC for multiplayer though right? Wish there was a tree mod that did, as the default one's don't look too hot in VR.
  7. I almost entirely fly caucasus and get it there too. What's odd is that it's not all of the tree's, only the odd one or two here and there. But it never really stops happening, so if it's a performance thing I don't get why it's so inconsistent. If there were a way to turn the detail down to stop it from happening it'd be great. Or to turn it up. At the moment it can be somewhat offputting, particularly when flying a helo.
  8. Unsure whether to put this in the VR section or not, as I mostly play in VR. But why do certain tree's oddly change shape as I approach them? Not all of them, just some of them. They look like they're almost turning to face me. Is there a setting to stop this from happening? I've tried turning down the forest detail, and maxing it out, but it still happens.
  9. Is there an estimate on when the fix will arrive? Was hoping it would drop with todays patch but doesn't look like it.
  10. Hm, still not seeing it on mine. Do I need to use global to find that setting?
  11. Trying to apply it to the DCS profile, but I can't see #1 in the list of stereo options at all. The other 4 are there. Is that a problem?
  12. Cheers, that's a great help. I just spent about an hour in DCS VR with the global setting applied and it definitely felt like there was more depth, particularly to the rims of the gauges and the floating text. Not sure if it's placebo or not but will try applying it all to my DCS profile.
  13. Yeah this is my question as well. Is there a conflict between having an nvidia control panel individual DCS setting/profile and running this?
  14. This a new problem or the old one? The AI occasionally gets confused and you have to cycle it's behaviour again to clear it.
  15. The first couple weeks flying the Huey in VR I legit ended up with stiff/sore back cuz of this, kept trying to fly it per the indicator but you end up at a very odd flying angle. It would be nice to see it fixed if only for us obsessives who have to keep noticing the gauge is very wrong.
  16. Yeah not much you can do about it, just gotta restart. Alt-tabbing never worked for me.
  17. Been through all this, this is quite a specific problem that doesn't appear related to any of the above. GPU usage just goes along as usual, then something happens after a medium-long session and the GPU suddenly shoots up to 100% and stays there while the FPS tanks. I'll go from 45 FPS with ASW enabled with 60-70%ish GPU usage, to 20 FPS with 100% usage. No change in CPU behavior or anything else. Plenty of unused ram capacity. Only a restart of DCS seems to fix it atm. Vram theory makes sense, particularly if there's a leak of sorts.
  18. You been changing any settings lately? If it's VRAM related then higher resolution / textures might be triggering it. I'm already at the point of shutting down all other apps/processes I can to try and reduce vram and CPU usage, heh.
  19. Which headset you using?
  20. I basically can't get my 3070 to go above 60-70% utilization in VR. Doesn't appear to be a CPU or RAM bottleneck either.
  21. Experiencing the same issue, also on a 3070. Definitely feels like it's a VRAM problem.
