I just updated my gear, and got better framerate/zero jerky, and the Gazelle started to shine even more. -One of the joyful things are the thin skin that let sounds through. Hearing all explotions and gunfire makes for some dramatic atmosphere, and adrenalinetrigging situations. For some minutes yesterday, it was my favourite experience with DCS.

Beautiful! Thanks a lot!

I'm doing a mission, and need to re-arm the Gazelle on the same spot it took off from. What element do I put there, and does it need some special setting/property to make it happen?

No. I usually fine tune the TGP after sync with waypoint, or otherwise existing SPI: The I would press TMS up long to make a new SPI to sync the (non laser) Maverick. Works like a charm, unless I'm at an angle, flying level, as in paralel to the ground, and not head on. "Make a SPI" mean pressing TMS up long, and turn the markpoint into a cake symbol. -Can be done with all sensors.

Ordered RTX4090, and I'm totally stressed out atm
Moxica replied to Moxica's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just want to roll into turns smoothly. That gives me a great sense of speed and thus immersion. Choppy rolls is a huge turnoff. Pun intended. I found that ST runs smoother than MT, but I have difficulties because it does not start in VR. ..starting in pancake mode if you whish. Running repair as I speak.. (Well, write) Edit: Well that did not help. Still starting in pancake mode.. Earlier it started with Steam, so I removed SteamVR. [Insert profanity] -
Thank you, guys. Here's the scenario: Lookin at target with pod when flying against it at an angle. Not looking over the horizon, not banking. If the angle is to steep, (Say 75º) I can not make a SPI. Changing course towards target makes it possible (When getting within, what I suspect is minimum limit) I have to fly fairly straight on to get that SPI.

Thanks! It got a lot better. The most frustrating "anomalies" are reduced significantly. I also cranked up som eyecandy, but MSAA is still an achilles heal. Forget 4X. -
I was trying the ST version, and to my surprise Steam starts, and DCS now runs through Steam. How can I fix that?
-
I'm under the impression (from experience) that I can not make/set SPI if looking at target with TPOD at an angle. I'm wondering if there is a limitation, and if so, what is max. angle?

Phew! Thanks a lot, gentlemen. I felt my shoulders sinking, and my weekend just got a lot better! -
What's up with the "enemy bomber raid" mission?
Moxica replied to Moxica's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Thx, Draco. I suspected that. -
correct as-is Bitchin' Betty calls - (Almost) All modules

Thanks again, Razor. I stand corrected, and I'm pleased to be. -
correct as-is Bitchin' Betty calls - (Almost) All modules
Moxica replied to Moxica's topic in General Bugs
Thank you, Razor! That is exactly what I meant. (And ever since I saved a track to watch a tricky, but elegant landing with the AH64 just to find it landed in a totally different spot, I havent bothered wasting hard drive space with any tracks for any purpose.) -
correct as-is Bitchin' Betty calls - (Almost) All modules
Moxica replied to Moxica's topic in General Bugs
Not sure what you need evidence for. -Those alerts are pronounced on every landing on every "Betty equipped" aircraft in DCS. Or am I the only one to experience this?? -
"Betty" calls altitude warning even when in landing configuration; Flaps and gear down. I don't think this is how it works in real life. Should be calling altitude measures in feet. You think?

Lately/for the recent modules, the "Instant action" section for have become rather emaciated. "Cold and dark" and "Free flight" does not fit well in such a cathegory. -Not much action. Heatblur has really done a good job to spark interest/motivation/inspiration, though.

After I loaded AH64 with mix of L and K hellfires, the Reaper JTAC will not follow setup from ME: I've set the JTAC to use laser, but he (well, Wags) insists on using IR pointer. Daylight mission, and I can not see it. Same mission worked before the addition of Limas. Wut? How? Bug?
-
The first time I discovered I could have JTAC lase targes while in hiding/cover, I was extatic for more than a week. The Reaper drone especially. This is boss!

Thx! In a (DCS) world of placebo and snake oil solutions, this was very useful and straight forward. I appreciate it a lot. Now I need to rub out the moolah for a 4090 with 24GB VRAM -I'll report back.

Thx, guys, but yes, RDR is out of standby. (AS in attached video) -
What's up with the "enemy bomber raid" mission?
Moxica replied to Moxica's topic in Missions and Campaigns
No Yes No, just that video describing it very well. I have successfully done that in other missions. Are you able to lock the bombers in TWS in this mission? -
I'm having the same issues as 311Gryphon, with not being able to lock targets in TWS. In fact, most of the time they do not even show up on the radar.

reported Reduction in performance since update
Moxica replied to Flyingfish's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same. I'm on hold until discovered, recognized as a performance fault, and fixed. Very frustrating jitter.
