Shindand Airport is within the SW region and should be high quality, right? The screenshot seems to show relatively low quality terrain. Does this represent unfinished terrain (demonstrative of low-quality areas) or is this meant to be represent high quality terrain?

Well, we've successfully answered the question: how complex and confusing can a DCS terrain release be? If someone buys the whole map and only wants to download one third of the HQ map, will they have the ability to deactivate those parts in DCS to save HD space?

Marry he... oh you already did, good man -
I think it's a mighty stretch to credit me at this point - there's been much work done on it since I futzed with it!

No, I meant the Su-30, which it looks like you don't have installed. Removing Su-30 stopped the errors on my end. Maybe the MiG-31K? It's almost certainly a weapon lua schema bug of some sort, and that one has very similar R-37s etc as the Su-30 mod. -

Try uninstalling the Su-30 mod. -

No, I'm seeing the same behavior. -
I'm so sorry Hawkeye.

I find the LSO starts getting lax around the six or seventh bolter.

By law? It's like an auto license plate, but made of wood and for a warship? That's kinda neat -
South Atlantic Terrain Terrain Look and Feel

I didn't vote because I don't think it makes much of a difference. A well-done synthetic can look fantastic and a poorly done satellite texture can look awful, and vice versa. Neither will look good on a mesh that doesn't have enough detail. -

I'm VERY excited to see a Buccaneer. Last I saw, T-Pap and the Digital Combat Aviators were working on one: -

"I had hoped we wouldn't need them." The tired man rubbed the stubble on his scalp in frustration, with the tips of his fingers finding deep scars. "Hiring people to kill for us? I thought we were better than this, Fifo." His friend smiled ruefully. "Jack, mi amigo. Fate works against us. We must use all weapons in our hands, yes? The means justify the ends. Besides," A conspiratorial, mischievous smile crossed his face. "Those men - and women!" he quickly and emphatically added, "they would be killing with or without our gold. Mercenaries like these, they are like prostitutes, yes?" Jack blanched, but his piercing blue eyes belied the amusement he felt as his friend delivered his punchline. "We do not pay these people to kill. We pay them to leave once there are no more of our enemies to kill." -
This seems to have fixed the obstinate CIWS. I haven't tested it in every use case so use with caution. No warranty expressed or implied, YMMV, and other expectation management phrases applied. kimedaka_sea_base.lua

What a beaut! It has been a rough year. Existence can take on a brutal aspect in trying times. Your willingness to push through and continuing to produce beauty and enhance the joy of this community is pretty inspiring. I've started to learn more about modding and what all these numbers and figures in the luas *do*. I hope to be able to contribute in some small way. -
Getting into helicopters has given me a whole new level of appreciation of this asset pack! Really great stuff. Is there a trick to getting the CIWS on the sea base to engage missiles?

Hi there, The image posted above appears to be an M7 Linebacker. The BFiST lacks the starboard turret optical port of the Linebacker, and the Linebacker as pictured lacks the Fire Support Sensor System. Critically, the BFiST features an armored optics box where the standard Bradley mounts a TOW launcher, which is where the Linebacker mounts a Stinger quad-pack as seen above. -

Hi! The only time I experienced anything like that I had accidentally nested the folder in /tech/ Make sure that your file structure is \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\mods\tech\Project_205_OSA Class BETA\ I had a situation where my structure was \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\mods\tech\[mod name]\mods\tech\[modname] and DCS can't read that. Essentially, the first folder after \mods\tech\ or \mods\aircraft\ needs to contain the entry.lua -

It's so good to hear that your operation went well. You're in our thoughts - pain management is no joke. The Fitzgerald looks great. I was fortunate enough to see the Paul Hamilton this year at Fleet Week, which I believe is a similar Flight 1 vessel. -

Landing on this babushka is a joy! Pleasing Soviet lines and no FPS drop when I get close, and a small-ish pad with ominous SAM missile to be mindful of. -

I suspect that most of my missions have one of your ships somewhere. A lot of people prefer single player DCS and I think it's less common for screenshots to escape that player segment. We should normalize showing off our SP missions! I previously spent all of my DCS time in fixed wing go-fast jets, which doesn't leave a big window to appreciate ship assets aside from RWR pings. Now that I'm becoming more appreciative of the heretical rotary wing aircraft, I have more of an opportunity to see them up close. I haven't been able to pin down a reason why, but it's not uncommon to see big FPS drops when landing on decks with helicopters - and I would assume VTOL fixed wing as well but I haven't messed with that much. -

Responding to a threat to national security at the port. Don't forget to appreciate the civil ships, folks! Admiral did great work on 'em.
