  1. i have noticed this the past month or so when playing on my own syria bfm training missions, that once the AI would shoot a fox 2 it would fly straight and level for a while instead of perusing me, like it though it had killed me. after i got on their six and few behind them (like in the tracks) eventually they would realize i was there and maneuver. this would happen 1 to 2 out of 10 planes. in my training missions i have 10 planes that i call up from the f10 menu. i didn't spend much time trying to reproduce it to make a track to post here, i had made a couple test runs in the caucasus map that had i only one plane spawning the same time i did and it didn't reproduce the same concern. the tracks are from the f-16 instant action high aspect bfm training sortie on the caucasus map. where three of the tracks are from muti-threading and 3 of the tracks have single threading. in these track the ai are acting the same way as the ai did in my own syria missions. i also did a complete repair to dcs today before the patch and i have no mods either. cauc.ai.flyingStraight.instantAction.ST.trk cauc.ai.flyingStraight.instantAction.ST.2.trk cauc.ai.flyingStraight.instantAction.ST.3.trk cauc.ai.flyingStraight.instantAction.trk cauc.ai.flyingStraight.instantAction.2.trk the last track due to upload file size limit cauc.ai.flyingStraight.instantAction.3.trk
  2. I am surprised to hear that it is "known " that the Su 27 has too much drag and underperforms in sustained turns. I can dominate any bluefor with the su-27 and the 29 for that matter. it is much harder to kill a 29 or 27 with any bluefor aircraft. I am of course talking about gun Kills. I shouldn't have wrote that the same wasn't true for the 29, even though there is no proof that the 29 has the same abilities. looking back at that post, I should have not even brought it up in a Mig 29 section.
  3. Sorry for the late response, No Scripts, But I had some things in my saved game folder like kneeboards. when anything like this comes up I move everything that I put in, out and run a full repair too. if the same concern persists, which it did in this case I will post something on here. I also Don't change anything outside the saved games folder ever.
  4. i know this is an old thread but if there is an "issue" with the mig 29 has to do with drag. it could be that the 29 has to much drag or the other ones have to little drag. take a f15 and the mig 29 go up to 5k and see how far you can glide with each one. i dont know how things are supposed to be in real life. but i do know that an f-15 can fly and land with only one wing, the same isnt true for the 29
  5. there is a restrict afterburner in the set options i drop down menu n the advanced Waypoint section.
  6. thank you for the responses
  7. is there anyway to acknowledge and remove the adv line covering the bottom left ddi. when one pops up it blocks the whole bottom of the screen thus blocking important information. for instance how would i get rid of BIT or FPAS when they pop up randomly during the mission? is there any way to get rid of HOME FUEL without tanking? thank you for taking time to read this post
  8. in real life could or did f/a-18 ever hang an aim9 and an aim120 from the same double mount Lau115?
  9. the airplanes HUD altimeter only goes to 80k so what I do is put the info bar at the bottom of the screen to know when I go past 80k
  10. @Pavlin_33its called target specified size and when you increase or decrease, is adjusts the number at the bottom of the hud and radar screen. the same number that the predicted target range changes.
  11. even if it doesnt make since to me i get the radar elevation and predicted target range, my question is why does adjusting target size adjust the number that the predicted size changes, at the bottom of the hud/ radar display. how does the size of the plane effect where the radar beam needs to be pointing?
  12. im sorry for taking everyone's time, i got my mods mixed up. i had been watching to many dcs mod videos again and i had the cockpit of the gripen confused with the typhoon.
  13. @Zahnatomcould you please post a link to 1.1 or tell me where i can find the newest eurofighter? i would say 2-5 days ago i downloaded option 3 file from the website https://lechuzasnegras.net/ because option 1 and 2 dont work. when i install the file that i downloaded a few days ago i get a aircraft that dcs main page says its 1.0.8. when i try to fly the thing it wont let me control pitch and roll is horribly slow and im pretty sure nothing in the cockpit is clickable and the mfds work like fc3 redfor planes
  14. i get that 1.1 isnt out yet, but why is the file i downloaded from the website labeled 1.1? and im pretty sure on the webpage i downloaded if from said 1.1. anyway, is the mod that is currently out supposed to have clickable buttons around the mfd?
  15. i just downloaded it from the website and it turns up in dcs as 1.0.8, what happend to 1.1?
  16. thanks i am just trying to confirm because in the manual it does not explicitly state you have to unbug. im thinking that i have never really ran into this scenario because in the past i would "If no System Targets have yet been designated, pressing TMS Right upgrades all Track Targets to System Targets" pg 240 f-16 manual. im more of an stt guy. next question is, if you have a missile in the air that has not gone pitbull and you have to unbug a target to upgrade more target tracks because they are coming fast a furiously, does that sever the datalink connection between me and the missile? i tried it a could of times with non-maneuvering targets and the missile whacked them. but i dont really count that because i could be the missile going to the last know coordinates deal.
  17. @_SteelFalcon_i love your thumbnail of the f-16 scooter! TWS first off thank you everyone reading this and the ones that took time to answer my question(s). it might help with clarification if you took a look at the f-16 manual. (it can get confusing talking about all the different types of target tracks.) on page 239 the Track while scan section starts and it has pictures of what all the different target tracks look like. what i am trying to find out, if this is how it is currently working for me is the correct way the FCR is working or if something is going on with my setup and i need to try to figure out what's going on. i have not been flying the f-16 in tws mode very much and just the other day i started setting up scenarios in the mission editor with up to 6 different bandits that i have to take on in a short amount of time. i thought in the f-16 when i used to press tms right, the fcr would bug the different types of tracked targets on the fcr to bug them. it has been a little bit and i have been flying different planes lately. i experience this in the caucus map and the syrian maps because those are the only two i use. @razo+rwhen i say "upgrade(d)(ing) target tracks" i am talking about anywhere in the process of turning a target from a track target, into a bugged target. when the target(s) first appear on the Fire Control Radar (fcr) page on the mfd, it is a solid square with a line facing whatever way it is flying. the fcr lets you TMS up short on a track target, to become a system target. when you TMS up or TMS right on a system target it turns into a bugged target. this example i am about to explain how the fcr works for me all the time. lets say three search targets turn into track targets pop up on my fcr all at the same time. if i turn one target track into a system track and then i bug it, if i try to upgrade any of the track targets to system targets the fcr wont let me. before i can turn any other of the track targets into system tracks and bug them, i first have to unbug the system track(s) i bugged. once i unbug the first bugged target, then i am able to upgrade the other track targets that i want to into system tracks. once all the track targets are in a system track i can then pick one system track to bug with TMS up or you can let the fcr pick that system track to bug first by using TMS right and then from there i can use TMS right to cycle through the all the system targets i have on the fcr page. from the paragraph above is that how the f-16 fcr is supposed to operate? thank you
  18. i have been having issues with upgrading track targets to system targets, once i have 1 or more system targets bugged. i have to unbug the target(s) and upgrade the new track target(s) to system targets and then rebug them all. a couple of questions, unbugging a target while a missile is on its way, will that drop the datalink connection? is the method of operation correct?
  19. taking off is the easy part, lately i have been seeing how short of a space i can take off with, usually with a full a2a load and full fuel, the real fun comes at the landing! try the pagan airstrip in the marianas map, do go to far right or to far left.
  20. as the story goes, send them the unclassified and for public release documents with the numbers. cuz numbers of wiki dont cut it. without knowing the numbers, growing up i always heard the f/a18 called a whisper jet and trashed talked about its Eco-saver engines.
  21. in the su27 and mig 29 manual there is a BVR section and the section that talks about the irst explicitly says that the r27t,and r27et can be used with the irst system. the radar section does not mention the r27t or r27et. i took that as that is what you have to use to shoot the t and et missiles. there is a mode that only uses the radar (RL) and one that is the irst (EO), there is one that uses both (EORL). i dont know how you get there ir seeker to lock on to a target any other way. Missile Engagement with IRST as the Active Sensor Using the "ОЛС-27" - infrared search and track (IRST) system for long-range missile combat allows stealth attacks. The IRST is immune to active jamming, but it has much less target detection range than radar. The R-27ET, R-27T and R-73 can all be used with the IRST system. THE R-27T/ET MEDIUM RANGE MISSILES MUST HAVE AN INFRARED SEEKER LOCK ON A TARGET BEFORE FIRING. THESE SYSTEMS ARE IR-HOMING ALL THE WAY AND DO NOT USE A DATA LINK SYSTEM the bvr section starts on page 121 in the su-27 manual and page 83 for the mig 29. i find it all quite wild about all the talk on her about missiles not working on these forums. i have only been using the su27 and mig29 in single player recently to learn them and have found that if i shoot a r27er and turn the radar off the missile still guides and kills the maneuvering aircraft. between that and all the ai that have been crashing into the ground theses days, i dont know what to think is going on.
  22. in the control menu for the f-16 there are keybinds for the transmit switch, which has the uhf and vhf VoIP, radio menu keybinds. there also two more that i dont have a clue what they do the iff in and iff out keybinds?
  23. just for clarification when you are getting launch authorization to shoot the r27et are you using the radar or the electro optical seeker?
  24. i did a little peak max altitude runs with a few planes, they all started the runs with a hot jet on the runway. they also all had 50% fuel, where applicable no pylons and or any ammo, and unlimited fuel turned on. the day was a brisk October afternoon in the Caucasus region, 2016 on the 11th at 16:30 to be exact with a chilling temp of -6.6 and all weather or winds were turned off. i would get the plane up to cruising altitude at full blower and once the speed stopped climbing i would go for the full pull at a climb anywhere between 45 to 60ish degrees. depending on the plane there would be an angle that once it was reach if you kept pulling the plane would start shaking/ buffeting. the cruising altitudes for all the planes ended up right around 30k to 35k. unfortunately the f-16 was at the bottom of the list and after my record height the f-16 flamed out, fortunately i wasn't in a death stall and i was able to get the plane relit and on my way. with all planes the altitude and speed readings were from the info bar at the bottom of the screen turned on by Left Control + Y, and to cycle the airspeed you use the same keybind, i believe the speed reading were true airspeed, it had TS next to the speed and the altitude was mean sea level (MSL). top speed altitude F-18 1079 78.3k F-16 1175 92.1k SU-33 1460 102k SU-27 1490 108.5k F-15 1512 114.3k Mig29 1603 118.5k
  25. i am stuck at the same spot but in my version olive is still around to splash the truck in trail and i take care of the front one, after the trucks go ka-boom nothing happens. this is actually my second time getting this far, the first time i killed both trucks with a lucky zuni rocket shot, two rockets two kills, i have a bad habit of killing before i have heard all the instructions. so after the first time killing both trucks i assumed i messed up the mission because i didnt let my wingwoman kill a truck, i though it has to be all equal rights 50/50. so this time i let wingwoman get her kill and still nothing has happend. this campaign has been great and i have loved every minute of it, except for this mission. i love the story line of the mission but the ai has just about drove me bonkers. i have had to restarted this mission ten times at least to get to the point in the mission where we are flying around the fire/smoke hoping for flip to call the choppas in bound. there have been a handful of times that AI f-14 have rammed a fellow f-14 that is on at 3 and the tomcat on the cat blows up leaving a hole the size of Texas in the deck. the other times there has been one issue or another with my own hornet. i know this is a dcs problem but why does a tomcat that started life on the back of the boat have to come past cat 3 towards the front to turn around to go back to cat 4? if the tomcat on cat 3 has his wings extended the sunday driver runs right into it. does anyone have any hints of where to go or what to do after the two vehicles that escape from the "compound" go boom? or is the destruction of the two trucks are whats supposed to start the next level? the checkpoint that the player is supposed to report, are we talking about an enemy checkpoint?
