  1. Sounds great. They’ve built a nice little Museum on that side, (Chapel side). I popped into the Heritage Hanger then had a look around the Museum earlier this year. Peter Monk has a load of lovelies there, hangar tours are something like £50, just under £3k for half an hour in a Spit if you’re flush. Oh, I just remembered, I’ve still got a 45 minute flight in a Tiger Moth to do . My Great-Uncle was a fitter on Stringbags. He was on the Convoys from ‘42. I got a bit of dust in my eye when I saw one fly after he’d gone. Love to see it doing the rounds. I keep meaning to have a good mooch about in Yeovil. I stopped at the gates last year, summers evening so it was closed. Love a bit of the 303, I’ll have to sort it out. Off to hit all the buttons to get in here .
  2. Yeah, how do we get in it, it looks great. I tried a few F keys, maybe I need to change my keyboard setup? looks mustard .
  3. Must’ve had one of the best views in the house? Lucky lucky . Had some good days there.
  4. I knew it was there somewhere. That’s what I meant about the roundels, cheers Megalax. Plotted some Lancs on the Channel Map the other day. If ‘starting from ramp’ I could only get them planted at Manston. I’ve seen our Lanc take off and land from Biggin a few times and didn’t think it would be a bother. I could ‘take off from ground’ and had them taking off and landing ok from there. Wish ED could make things easier for you tinkerers. Sorting the AI would be a bonus, forming up on anything especially in the turn gets a bit lively. Still chuffed to be able to mess about with it. Well done team
  5. I’ve hardly touched Cliffs, there’s barely a comparison for me, this just flies better. BOB in DCS would suit me fine. I’d love a Hurricane too and for gods sake 110s, 88s & 111s etc. Flyable, fully clickable .

Anyone get any from Duxford finale this year?
  9. Life’s too short. If you fancy the Kiowa just grab it and enjoy it for what it is. Lace hit the nail on the head really. I wouldn’t call it unusable, I fly it now and then, last time I tried it was fine. It’s a lot slower and less lively than the Gaz so buy both, you won’t be disappointed Something’s going on with Polychop, let them deal with the dramas. For now the Kiowa’s fine.
  10. Good news if they’re spinning. We might get the upkeeps working So good to see it in our skies
  11. I thought the roundels might’ve needed adjusting, I had a quick scan through the thread but couldn’t find the page where it was discussed but it’s here. Something about the width of the red I think? No biggie. The little tractor and bowser looked ok a while back, obviously we don’t know what work’s been done to em if any so no sweat on those. Thought they might have come as a sort of ‘Lanc Assets pack’ or something . Cheers again for all the work, per Avro ad Astra
  12. mad bassa. Good though innit
  13. I see the same bort issue. EDs dodgy AI had one of the Lancs pranged on the ramp leaving it chopped in half earlier. As I rolled behind it in a Spit I got pranged by the ‘invisible’ tail end. Maybe something with the collision detection box or whatever? I see some light green textures on some that are damaged as well. As if the ground crews have fitted fresh panels to any Lancs that are pranged, eager to get em back in service. I love it though. Hope the team have a well deserved break from it for a bit but I’m looking forward to hopping aboard one day so keep the home fires burning . BUG REPORT: Where’s my little tractor hmmm? , just kidding, (not) Chuffed to bits to finally have it. What was the story with those chunky roundels in the end Scoobs & co?
  14. I just plotted a load on the Channel Map. Some as statics, some rolling on take off. Mossie and Spits for an escort. She’s gorgeous . I need more time and a better look but by what I’ve seen so far… she purdy take a bow Thanks again, and again .
  15. Oh you beauties! Well done, congrats and a massive thank you to everyone that worked on this. You’re all diamonds, tea and medals all round, Distinguished Modding Medal? I can’t get on DCS til later on so haven’t checked it out yet, other than watching the little vid here but I’m so chuffed to see this released. All those hours of tapping, both on your heads and your keyboards was well worth it, good on ya lads and thanks again. Looking forward to checking it all out later on, one day we’ll fly it too, it’ll get there. AI for now has me chuffed to bits for all of us, what treat eh absolute blinder
  16. Yeah, cheers for the pics Devil Nomad, it’s looking gorgeous, really, well done
  17. Fair comment Skew, maybe I shoulda said ‘improved’ it is still a bit fragile. eta: Peter Monk has one being restored in NZ, they’ll be doing pleasure flights in it from Biggin Hill so I’ll be able to wind myself up comparing ours if I get to see it fly. Thankfully there’s quite a few flying these days
  18. I can’t remember when I last bought a module now. A bit late though, there’s not many I don’t have but anyway. I remember too well having an update just before Christmas, the proverbial tailwheel fiasco. I pissed and moaned for months about it along with others, a fair few of us were testing and giving feedback but it took forever to have it put right. I wish I’d have known how to roll it back to pre-update, anything to have it as it was. It wasn’t a lotta fun for a while. Thankfully it was sorted eventually. It could be argued that an accurate model of the Mos shouldn’t have any AI to manage radios etc, never mind fly by wire. The trouble with that is flying it on our own leaves a few things to be desired. It was promised in some form but the wind took that whisper with it I think? Personally, I fly it loads, mainly for pleasure, loading it up on a server now and then for some rocket and cookie shenanigans. It all works pretty well for me (ignoring my dodgy targeting) but it does need a bit of tinkering. The EA idea doesn’t really work for me, pretty early (in the real sense of the word) after release I thought it wouldn’t be long til we could, ya know, mark some targets like some of the Path Finder boys did in their Mossies but we just can’t have em somehow? I’d prolly pipe down if we got some though the novelty would soon wear off, or would it . Then it’s what about those wipers… Maybe ED should open up the doors a bit for the people that obviously have a passion and a talent for modding. A quick scan around the Modding threads and you’ll find Modders banging away for years on projects. Can’t they be brought into the fold somehow? Helped along a bit? Maybe I’m being naive but I’d have thought working with the people that are building bits specifically for DCS already, before they’re earning anything, would be of help to the whole community. Look at stuff like the Lancaster project, give those lads a few tips or tools and help them work and well all have Lancasters too. Then… we’re really gonna need those TIs . We’d have more being worked on, more releases maybe and I don’t think anyone’s out of order expecting modules to be completed and maintained. We need Maintenance Units for all modules , maybe eh?
  19. Cracking job . Cheers for the news too, as always, lookin bleedin marvellous. Keep plugging away and she’ll be Flyable someday/night, it’s worth the wait .
  20. What’s the score then? Has everyone legged it? I have both, I flew the Gaz for a bit only last night, nipping about, it flew ok as far as I could see. Didn’t arm it with anything, just tore it about for a while. These 3rd party deals ain’t much of a party are they.
  21. Cheers for posting here Brian . I don’t use any discords so was none the wiser. Good news on the AI version, well done. I didn’t wanna be poking anyone for a rush on, just keen, enthusiastic and curious ya know. When she’s ready she’s ready . Will be great to see her in our skies and to fly with. Look forward to it
  22. Cheers Silver, I do have 64gb ram cheers. I’m resigned to the fact that DCS is just always gonna crash a few times on me every session. I’ve been mostly flying MP and I’m not alone, most just accept it’s gonna crash. It’s a shame something so good when up and running is so unstable. I rarely have any trouble with any other software on my system, not that much else gets a look in anyway now. cheers for the helpful pointers . - oh and the OH-6, while there may be some issues, is one of the most well put together modules in DCS, albeit a Mod. Tobi & Eightball deserve all the tea & medals for giving us a massive bundle of goodies along with a chopper that’s one of the most fun things to fly on the platform. It has caused issues in the past so if things start to go wonky I disable my mods, as we should, but I’d never be rid of it. What would I do with all these Hawaiian shirts & loafers ?
  23. We could do with some Turbulents, water balloons, flour bombs and gates to fly/limbo under too . eta: The smell of fried onions. Mustn’t forget that.
