  1. Another thing we can check is your Ms System Config utility. Run + msconfig Get us a screenshot of the Services tab (with Hide all MS services box checked) Do the same for the Startup tab (slide the location column over far enough that we can read the whole of the Command column) Maybe someone will see something we can have you check out a bit further.
  2. 2nd computer and hardware changes are completely different matters since the activation key is coded to the systems unique hardware. It wouldnt work at all using the procedure describe above. Most people will have no problems if they follow the advice carefully, and make sure they have a good system restore point in the event "Stuff Happens Anyway". This particular registry key deals with LockOn only so its not likely someone would stuff his whole system trying this trick.
  3. We could wish that would solve all problems that easily, huh? I used the 00Eagle Dynamics key rename option myself. Then the registry key doesnt get deleted during un-install. In any case its good to have a backup of that key safe some place else (using export) and a good backup for the whole registry, plus a good system restore point. Using RegEdit is a bit agressive for a lot of computer users since so much can go wrong if you're not careful. But I hope this will help a lot of people avoid the activation limit if they need to re-install ver 1.1.
  4. Check out this version of your mission. http://home.earthlink.net/~rgwebster/ver11/SU25T%20ver3.mis Use Mission Editor to look over the Targeting info on the Attack waypoint.
  5. Check the Payment issues sub forum at the top of this page.
  6. A picture of how the RegEdit Export option works. You can save your 1.1 registry settings to a file. Another technique I've used successfully is to use RegEdit to rename the Eagle Dynamics registry key. I like to use double zeros in front of the name to make it easy to find later; for example HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\00Eagle Dynamics After you do this you can use Control Panel-Add/Remove programs to uninstall 1.1. Then after you do your re-installation, go back into RegEdit and rename the registry key from 00Eagle Dynamics to Eagle Dynamics. As is always the case with Registry Editing - you work at your own risk: (1)Make sure you have a good System Restore point (2)Always have a backup copy of the Registry file in case you mess something up.
  7. There seems to be a problem with Static Objects as Target Items in Multi-player games. In 1.02 when you destroyed a static object you'd see the "kill" added to your game score. In 1.1 when you destroy a static object it's not added to your game score and you don't get a "kill message". Thats the case even when the static object is an assigned target for your aircraft group.
  8. You're right about there being differences in key commands between aircraft. Especially between fast-movers and mud-movers. I haven't seen any keyboard maps customized for each aircraft yet, but I think it might happen now since there are quite a few changes in 1.1. I think you're on the right track - multiple profiles, one for each aircraft. I've already been editing the keycommands.doc, making copies and customizing the new file to include just the commands I want with keyboard and JS mapping notes. Try making your own custom keycommands.doc files and gradually experiment and add commands as you practice and master the more advanced topics.
  9. What do you want? It's already been pointed out to you ED is going to address the situations shortly. Answering PM like yours should be a low priority compared to all thats going on right now. I agree with Allochtoon - dont expect an individual to toss off an answer off the top of his head on problems like these. A coupla days to figure out whats going on and why, then working up options to deal with them, does that sound like too much to give them?
  10. Same here.... The poll got locked this time so we can't see if anyone might be trolling the poll.
  11. Did you do a time check? Middle of the night (and on Sunday to boot) when you sent your PM. Maybe he's got a life, ya think? Besides I think someone posted yesterday that ED would address some of these questions on Monday.
  12. Take a look in the Lock On/Temp/ folder for the files named Error.log and System.log. It should have info on the last time you started the game. Post that info here and see if anyone can pick out a problem. Also have you done a spyware/trojan sweep lately? Use one of the online checkers in case your Norton has been compromised. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
  13. Check this thread for a look at the new stuff (with some pictures). http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=7499
  14. Look in this thread called 1.1 Install Advice. Read what DMUT wrote about doing a manual activation. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=7324
  15. Check Dmut's advice in this sticky thread: Its called 1.1 Install Advice orginally posted by Wags http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=7324
  16. I was just reading another forum thread when I ran into another name I had seen. Force_Feedback had voted I payed for it but I ran into copy protection issues. Instead it seems that he's just in the PayPal holding pattern waiting for clearence. Havent done any calculating but it seems like its moving well above 90% success. Are you sure you dont want to take the plunge, jump in and take a chance?
  17. That was your purpose for this poll? LOL It looks like we have other votes that doesnt match other forum statements: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?p=53497#post53497 aceflier had voted in the Nope, I had problems with payment system, awaiting for download still Quirk voted in the I payed for it but I ran into copy protection issues. category but it seems he's actually up and running. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?p=54575#post54575 Although Kuky voted in the right category Nope, I had problems with payment system, awaiting for download still it looks like he got his problem squared away by ED staff. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=7492 I haven't checked everyone's vote but it looks to me like its probably better than 90% success rate based on how you setup your poll. Do you think it would be interesting if we could check the Ubi forum poll the same way? Guess you're not feeling lucky?
  18. This is getting kind of interesting. Maybe skewing the results of the poll too. Fubar says he holding off on buying 1.1 which of course he has his reasons for and it is his choice. Yet he voted I payed for it but I ran into copy protection issues And then we have Albatros voting Nope, I had problems with payment system, awaiting for download still after he posted that he wasnt ready to buy it yet due to the re-activations issue. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?p=54437#post54437 Looks like there should have been 1 more category - maybe something like: I haven't made a decision to buy it yet because of some concerns If you look at the voting results you can see who voted in each category.
  19. A screen shot of some the stuff you can add by the Static Object/Buildings. Plus a couple screen shots of Land Mines in action. A note on Land Mines. They will function, but they dont seem to damage or destroy the vehicles that set them off. I had to try and see if we could mine the airfield taxiways and again, the mines function but no visible damage to the aircraft.
  20. Sprinkle a few Mk-84s on the Ammo Depot and you get nice some secondary explosions effects. Look here to see some screenshots
  21. Nice touch! When using Land Mines installed with Mission Editor Static Object/Buildings the landmines function but they don't seem to damage or destroy the vehicles setting them off. (all buildings in screenshot were added with the Static Object/Buildings option) Edit; Hmmmmm.. wonder if we can mine the airfields & taxiways? Again - the mines function but no damage to the aircraft - athough it seemed to be disabled somehow since I couldnt taxi away from there.
  22. Also an easy ride to get into up and fllyin'. I wonder if the Stats will be skewed at all because the ones that did have an easy time are out there flying while happily while those with problems are stopping by the forum looking for answers?
  23. The way I read the FAQ it seems that you won't go through the system info collection options if you have a successful activation. If there is a problem then it leads you through the options to generate the report they talk about.
  24. Last night I swapped out my X-45 (unplugged) for a Logitech Rumblepad2 FF gamepad (to check out the game with a force feedback JS) and I didnt have any problems.
  25. I used the automatic activation without a problem.
