Help... AI won't attack targets.
WhiskeyRomeo replied to BOPrey's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Did you remember to add a weapons payload to the wingman? Attack waypoint? Why not attach the mission file and let others look at it and figure out where you went wrong. -
Exactly which model of the 9800 are you talking about? The nearest price match with a 6200 is probably a 9800SE (SE=Serious Error). How much money are you looking to spend on a new video card? Why not compare the 6600GT to the 9800XT instead? They're close in price.
-
The performance is close enough that chosing between those cards is just matter of personal preference. http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/nvidia_geforce_7800_gtx/page16.asp

Lots of bridges out there and they blow up nicely! They're easy to find on the map too. Just zoom in on the map and you'll see them.

Starforce protects the entire FC install - not just the SU-25T. FC includes a whole lot more than just the SU-25T and your comments didnt make it clear as to what was and was not still working in the game. It's also unlikely that changing any software drivers would trigger StarForce to require a new activation which is what Starforce would do instead of "removing" just the Su-25T. So I have to agree with Jester_159th's comment even if it could have been more politely stated (even if he did get it spot on). Glad to hear you took his advice, solved the problem and that you're up and flying again.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Choppers missing damage models??
WhiskeyRomeo replied to Witchking's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Its rare that a chopper catches fire but it does happen from time to time. 2 flamers in the same mission with Cat 5.6 and ATI 9600XT. 1 kill with a -60 and 1 with guns. -
I haven't seen any increase in performance. But I do believe my system is more stable while running the game - especially when running as a server for a LAN (or Internet) game. I always use the Defragment Memory option (which will show how much available memory there is for your game and game related programs). I think AutoStart keys on the "app" quiting to know when to restart the other services and programs. Create your basic profile with one of your games and then all you need to do is change the game app to have a profile for each game. The real strength of FSAutoStart is that you can "Auto Launch" the helper programs you use for each of your games - and the command line options allow you to choose the right profiles for your TrackIR, Joystick, etc. You can have multiple profiles for the same game too. For example you can have a LockOn MP profile that adds TeamSpeak client with a longer game start delay so you can connect to a TS server. Or another LockOn profile to use a different JS configuration. Now that I'm using JS profiles that are different for A2A and A2G for 1.1 it's even more useful than before.

Depending on a persons system hardware and OS setup it may NOT be safe to shutdown ALL non-MS services. FSAutoStart does have info and recommendations that help you choose which are safe to shut down and which arent. The How-2-Use guide for FSAutoStart leads you through how to use the program. Everyone SHOULD know and understand what programs/services are running on their own systems. A really good resource that helps people do that is TASK LIST PROGRAMS @ Answers That Work

I have to agree with Nate -> FSAutoStart is the way to go. You can automate closing programs and services just as you can with msconfig AND you can have them started again when you exit your games. Plus you can have FSAutoStart run the other programs you use with your game such as TrackIR, Joystick profile, voice comms, etc... Use it for all your games not just Lock On or FS2004. http://www.kensalter.com/fsautostart/

Tested in both 1.02 and 1.1 using the F-15C escort airlift mission. ATI 9600XT Cat5.1 drivers tested before Cat5.6 installed. Seeing up to 50% improvements in this mission occasionally but would say the overall improvement average is only a few extra FPS (which is probably 10-15% for this mission). Testing several other missions without major overcast doesnt show any noticeable improvements.

Check the Sticky Topic in this section by Wags titled 1.1 News, 13 April 05 As Hitman mentioned that free Activation Store Utility tool will really reduce the need to "spend" an activation if you re-install FC. It's a good idea to backup your activation even if you don't plan on doing a re-install.

Look again on the download page. It's listed there as "Your registration number" when you sign into the website and visit the downloads sections:

The mission brief will tell you the target type is WorkshopA and you can look that type up in the Encylopedia to help ID the target. As mentioned it is one of the addon buildings. (I've also noticed that these new buildings showup before the rest of the surrounding buildings with my medium Visb Range graphics settings and that was true in the powerplant mission)

www.atcmonitor.com Those of you interested in this mod might enjoy this link: http://www.atcmonitor.com It's a near real-time En Route Air Traffic Control radio and radar data for the Atlanta Macey Arrival servicing the Atlanta Hartsfield Intl Airport. It's most interesting when there is stormy weather in the airport vicinity. It also has links to other live ATC sites including tower operations.

You used the wrong patch (the one for downloaded copies) Apply the patch (For english CD installed LO 1.1 addon) not the patch (For english WEB installed LO 1.1 addon)
-
Definately worth the cost! The FC 1.1 addon cost me 27.73 Eur (at todays rate - was lower when I downloaded it six weeks ago). No CD to worry about scratchin' or breakin' and still have 13 re-activations left. I maybe will need 3 activations per new PC (1 OS upgrade and 2 major hardware upgrades per PC) so I figure I have 6 or 8 years before I need to buy another copy. I figure I'll buy Lock On 2 before (hopefully LONG before) that would be an issue anyway. The CD version I ordered for a 2nd PC (and long term backup) cost 37 Euros with shipping. If I had to do it over again now I think I'd get a 2nd download copy. This Happy Customer is the NOT victim of copy protection and has not been "sick" once using ED's protection scheme. If there are ANY victims to cracking LO's protection it will be ED. As far as I can tell I haven't been punished in any manner for flying Flaming Cliffs.

You have EASY RADAR set ON in your Difficulty Settings. Setting it OFF will get you your normal TVM.

Incoming!!! Ok, so its old news but NaturalPoint did its first shipment on the 16th: I'm pretty impressed with 2 things. The first shipment after hours on the 16th. Dedication! And the fact that there were so many pre-orders that it will take till Wednesday to get them all shipped out. Thanks to NaturalPoint & Jason!! <S>

The best way to back up your activation key is with the free utility program available in the downloads section. It does all the work for you!

It was a LOT earlier - by more than 20 years. (or about 40 years ago) I agree that dual (or more) core technology probably won't be an immediate boon to gaming. It's definately geared more toward improving server performance at the moment. Hopefully there will be a trickle down effect that will transfer technology to gaming performance in the future.
