17 & 14, to catch the engine spooling up

Do the cockpit arguments not work the triggers for the Su-25 ? I've previously used them to trigger actions on other aircraft, and I checked they work on the Ka-50 before posting, but they don't seem to for the Su-25... Anyone else noticed this ?

That aside, Fri13 has a point. People are meat sacks, and have to be careful not to let other people make big holes in the sack through which all the contents can leak out. That means most people of sound mind will put not developing holes in their own meat sack above making holes in other people's meat sacks. "Incoming" generally means heads down, not guns up.

Why is there such a significant rearward blast from the 30mm cannon?
Weta43 replied to Braeden108's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
" The Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-2 (ГШ-30-2) or GSh-2-30 is a Soviet dual-barrel autocannon developed for use on certain ground attack military aircraft and helicopters. The cannon is not related to the Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-1, but is a recoil-operated cannon using the Gast principle, like the Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-23L. " -
"The MWS is visible but still can't find any pictures of it at all with a third pylon or Iglas." Because - as has been pointed out multiple times, & acknowledged by E.D., the Ka-50 was never actually fielded with Igla or a 3rd pylon - it's a what if exercise of imagination. The reasoning often used runs like 'The Mossie NF had a radar and launchers for rockets- wouldn't it be great if it was upgraded to an N/APQ-153 & had some sidewinders fitted ??? You know it would have happened if they hadn't retired the aircraft !!!"

There's a photo with part of the receiver mechanism removed showing the internals further up the page -

F-35 and its future. Was the project an overall failure?
Weta43 replied to Hummingbird's topic in Military and Aviation
I didn't follow the link - Does it say how many hours were flown in each year ? Presumably it's easier to keep an aircraft 'mission capable' if it is serviced then not used. Interesting that in 2019 the only fighter with a lower mission capability rate was the F-22 & the difference between the F-35 & the rest was 5 times the difference between the rest of the teen series, then suddenly the F-35 has a 23 % increase in mission capability rate & jumps to having the highest rate in the fleet. I suspect it's not just 'ironing the bugs out' -

The degree of flash is probably also related to what camera is used. Most cameras are more sensitive to infra-red than the human eye, but some have better filters to compensate for that. If you think about what setting fire to brandy in a pan on a cooking show video looks like (huge red bloom) compared to doing it in real life (small blue flame) you'll get what I mean. -
[REPORTED]SU-25A missing texture
Weta43 replied to cro_mig_21's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
Someone really should change the name of the thread - it's an issue with the cockpit model and 'aircraft' model not meshing correctly. A texture bug should have been fixed, a model bug is easier to accept sitting till there's a major rebuild. -
Maybe they just had some issues like they do with the Su-25 - the cockpit's good, the outside model's good, but the outside model intrudes into the cockpit (& looks like an untextured surface). They've said the only way to fix that is to rebuild the external model (or I guess the cockpit, but that would presumably be a bigger job). If they discovered during testing that the two weren't meshing correctly, they might have had to re-do the whole model to fix the issue.

You think when the Wellington fault goes the whole world’s economy will tank and an F-35 will be $35 ? -
The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) T-45 Goshawk is a highly modified version of the British BAE Systems Hawk land-based training jet aircraft. Manufactured by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and British Aerospace (now BAE Systems), the T-45 is used by the United States Navy as an aircraft carrier-capable trainer.

just hot gas escaping the breech - watch any video of a Tunguska (which is a GsH-30-2 ) and you'll see the same...

Most of their customers are SP. It would be an own goal if it's not usable for SP players, so it will be usable for SP players. They have the technology for that in a much more developed state than the multi-crew multiplayer, can's see any reason they wouldn't apply it.... It's a computer program - if they chose to make the radios work like FC3 at first, they can, then upgrade them as they finish systems (oboe ?).

Can't you cycle through what level of messages you receive (everything, less, only your own flight)

What happens if you set yourself up starting at a FARP that has had the total amount of missiles available set to 2 in the resource manager ? Doesn't it just give you what it's got then stop ? Not ideal, but maybe a workaround if you want one.

Impressive new details on damage model.
Weta43 replied to rayrayblues's topic in New Damage Model Bugs
There used to be blood in the Ka-50 cockpit if the pilot got hit, but it was removed. I always assumed as a ratings thing - perhaps the classifications are a bit more relaxed now. -
If they can get a few area maps that's detailed areas overlap they'd have the scope to have a campaign move across those maps - maybe tie limited licenses for terrains into a campaign license...

Wow - I've been living here for years, and I never knew that Wellington is the organised crime capital of the world, and that when I've walked past the SIS headquarters - while they appeared to be the inconsequential offices holding the junior party of the 5 eyes club - I was actually passing the headquarters of the most sophisticated covert ops body ever to exist, capable of hiding their actions from the combined security services of the USA, Britain, Canada and Australia (though Australia - maybe... Just as well I'm posting this from NZ - I think you can go to jail now in Australia for suggesting that Australia's secret service ever make mistakes) Makes sense though - ever since we cancelled the planned purchase of F-16s and ended up with an air force without fast jets, I'm sure the military have been plotting and conniving in their basements trying to find a way to scrape up enough money to buy anything that can top M1. Strange though - as a 5 eyes partner we'd probably have had access to the F-35 if we'd asked. It might have made more sense to turn that criminal master-mindry towards getting a discount and making enough money in other ways to be able to afford to buy them. -
Going Batshit ? They have been batshit for the last 4 years... If you don't believe there is a law, maybe ask "Q" why E.D. won't produce the module or give in to your demands for changes to the skhval modelling...
