  1. I use a three fan AIO liquid cooler and it keeps it at a good temperature (about 60-70C or less in most situations). I have tried overclocking for a 5% boost but I don't really need to at the moment so run at stock. I have 4 case fans (plus the 3 AIO fans) and leave the sides of the case off so that there is plenty of air. On tests this reduced the average CPU temp by about 3-4C. Not a lot but I quite like the open case setup so I have kept it that way.
  2. Another thing to try is to make sure you do not have incompatibility issues with open XR laters. https://github.com/fredemmott/OpenXR-API-Layers-GUI Try disabling all layers first to see if that helps with link connection.
  3. It looks like this is only affecting Q3. I have not had any issues with QP. For VD I use this router but you should also check out the VD discord as they have a list of routers that they recommend based on user experience. https://amzn.eu/d/esuOXUa
  4. Are you using Dynamic Foveated Rendering?
  5. I would agree with that. In my tests there is a definite VRAM impact of about 1Gb
  6. K has the edge for me but mainly subjective. I did a test in VR and there is a slightly better performance for K over J but I really need to check this more thoroughly to see if it is significant.
  7. It's been said before in several threads but no harm in saying it again. Yes please and extend West through the Netherlands to East Anglia so we can have bombing mission escorts.
  8. Sorry for your issues and I hope they get better, but it does not give me a lot of confidence in the Crystal Super.
  9. £445 on Amazon https://amzn.eu/d/i9l6pwN A 5080 for £949. Availability 10th May ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 SOLID CORE 16GB Blackwell Graphics Card LN157281 - ZT-B50800D2-10P | SCAN UK https://www.scan.co.uk/products/zotac-nvidia-geforce-rtx-5080-solid-core-gddr7-ray-tracing-graphics-card-dlss-4-10752-cores-2617-mhz?utm_source=webshare&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=share Plus about £400 for motherboard and RAM for a total of £1800. £100 less than the cost of a 4090.
  10. That's why we need a Fairy Swordfish.
  11. You don't need this anymore. Just use the default launcher and select the VR option.
  12. Option 1 is more future proof. Another option might be to get a 5080. Cheaper than a 4090 and only about 12% slower. If you can get one at MSRP that is. Prices and stock are pretty good in the UK now.
  13. I'm not sure about that. This occurs on the home screen so CPU and GPU use are minimal. What I have seen is a periodic spike in GPU frametimes every few seconds. I'll try to record a track.
  14. You don't need this anymore. Just use the latest launcher and select VR.
  15. Also Add: Fairy Swordfish Bristol Beaufighter Messerschmitt Bf 110 Hawker Hurricane MkIIC+D (40mm canons).
  16. The OP is that there is intermittent stutter with frame time spikes, which disappear after about a minute. I still see this (frame time spikes about every 5-10s for about 1 minute after startup) but it does not reoccur or affect any missions. It is annoying but does not otherwise affect gameplay. It looks like other posts might relate to different issues.
  17. Shadows have always been an issue with VR. I wish that this could be resolved. I just turn them off.
  18. You don't really need lots of cores. If you are on a budget the 5800x3d is good. A better option (at twice the cost) is the 9800x3d.
  19. Yes. I have a 3rd party one which meets the requirements. It would be worth considering if you need to replace your cable. Save a few dollars. This is the one I got with a charging port. https://amzn.eu/d/0eyVfnZ
  20. NVPI- I would personally avoid forcing settings to DLAA. You have the DCS setting mgs to DLSS and quality. There should be a setting there to automatically use the latest version of DLSS. QVFR- Try reducing the foveated region to 0.33 x 0.33 if you can tolerate it. This makes the foveated region 10% of the overall image rather than 20% (0.45 x 0.45). Also see if you can tolerate a peripheral resolution of 0.5. Reduce smoothen focus view edges to 0.1. DCS settings- These look ok but I don't bother using anisotropic filtering as I don't really notice any difference in quality and it has a small impact on performance. Have you tried setting DLSS to balanced or performance to see how it looks?
  21. You can play with the setting in the config file or use Quad Views companion although I'm not sure if that works with the Mégane X yet. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3332882/
  22. You can download it here. https://github.com/mbucchia/Quad-Views-Foveated
  23. It should be possible to look for variations in fps per unit time. I would need to think about how to do it though.
  24. Have you tried using Quad Views Foveated Rendering in fixed mode? That will reduce the GPU burden considerably.
