Have you looked at Chuck's guide? There are also lots of videos on this. https://chucksguides.com/aircraft/dcs/p-51d/#[120,"XYZ",0,540,null

How much does your DCS experience rely on community contributions?
Qcumber replied to Dangerzone's topic in Chit-Chat
This thread has become a bit confused and needs clarification. I asked above and was told that this pole related to DCS content elements only and not VR performance related 3rd party apps such as QVFR, OXRTK etc. @Dangerzone could you please clarify this in the original post? Most people who use VR (if not all) rely on third party software. -
I presume 2 weeks or does TM stand for Two Months

The only way I can get rid of DLSS ghosting is to increase the centre resolution in QVFR very high (Godlike x2). The quality is amazing.

Quest 3 VR resolution: DCS screens too big
Qcumber replied to BluesRocket's topic in Virtual Reality
I am not sure what you mean by "the screens are too large". Do you mean that everything appears very large? If so then have you checked the IPD setting in DCS? Or do you have any other software running that might override IPD such as OXRTK? Or maybe be you need to recenter your view? It might be worth posting a screenshot. -
If you lock at 72fps you are likely to get microstutter. I have tried various forms of locking fps over the years and none make any difference in terms of performance.

Sorry. I meant using an ethernet cable to link directly to the headset. I think the Q3 supports this natively but the QP needs an android tweak to enable it. You connect the Ethernet cable to the headset via a USB adapter then to the router. Then connect the router to the PC with another Ethernet cable. This bypasses the need for WiFi and gives you a more stable signal.

That is not representative of everyone's experience. For WW2 content QAG is much better. It does have lots of issues at the moment but it looks like it could be a good tool moving forward.

No FPS perf difference with DLSS ON/OFF with 3070Ti FE
Qcumber replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in 2D Video Bugs
You are not likely to as DLSS 4 with preset J or K at "quality" has a performance hit. The main reason to use it is for decent antialiasing. -

Does this include using third party software for VR? -
RX 9060 XT 16Gb: Good enough for 30-40fps in vr? Budget vr.
Qcumber replied to AngleOff66's topic in Virtual Reality
The Techpowerup review puts the 9060xt on a par with the 4060ti and 5060ti with about 80% of the 4070 performance at 4k (39fps vs 50fps). https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-radeon-rx-9060-xt-prime-oc-16-gb/31.html -
It might be some external electromagnetic interference. Look for sources nearby that might interfere. Keep the router away from your PC and monitor. You could also try using foil coated panels or a box around the router as a Faraday cage (with a gap so you have line of sight to the headset). Another option is using a usb-ethernet link instead of WiFi.

Yes. But not looking forward to "spin off deck uncontrollably to horrific whistling death" for the first few landings Yes. Naked flying for me too. Until we have full pilot interaction so that we can move arms and legs etc to see instruments.

I had this issue yesterday with IL-2. Not sure if it will work with DCS but try toggling the headset refresh rate to 80 or 90 Hz then back to 72Hz and see if it resets the cap.

With a 5800x3d and a 4070ti you should have plenty of CPU headroom. Prior to my current build I had a 5800x3d and a 4070. The QP will be a good upgrade over the Q2. With DFR you can get away with a smaller foveated region. I have mine set to 0.25x0.25.

I am getting very good performance with VD now. Actually it's a bit better than meta link since once the last update. Plus it is more stable.

VR stuttering - less cores, less stuttering (to a point)
Qcumber replied to NeinNineNiner's topic in VR Bugs
The only time I get stutters is when my fps drops below headset refresh rate, which is expected, or the CPU/GPU frametime pushes close to 13.8 ms. I have no limit on cores and most of the time get fairly balanced use across all cores. -
Every VR set works out of the box but not necessarily as you expect. VR is still a bit of a challenge but there are plenty of people here ready to help. My first bit of advice is don't panic. Take your time and you will get there. My second bit of advice is that age gives experience. If you don't have the knowledge exploit the ability of others!

My issue was that with CFM if I tried to create a mission with WW2 allied aircraft all it would generate was a massive flight of 190 D9s either in a fighter role or carrying bombs. The "bombers" would just fly in a straight line and wait to be shot down. Nice once, OK a second time, fcuking shiite 3rd time onwards!!!
-
The issue for me with CFM was that it just used the same enemy aircraft all the time so I had to go in and edit everything. QAG is great for simple dogfights but not much else. Anything more than 2 groups of units and it seems to grind to a halt when generating the mission. I am hoping this will improve. If CFM would allow the flexibility of choosing aircraft etc then this would be great.
-
Both options would make sense.
-
Yes. Definitely the Meteor. Good for Korea too.
-
Having used this for a few hours I find that simple dogfight missions are quick and easy to generate. More complicated missions, with more assets, leads to longer generation times. Some maps take longer than others. Cold War Germany is terrible. Normandy 2 works fine. It's still a work in progress and for me (with WW2 missions) it's much better than the previous one.

You need to disable ASW which you can do through Oculus Debug Tool or Oculus Tray Tool. Then you need to optimize your settings so that you can maintain 72 fps. What are your PC specs?
