  2. Thanks for the reply boarder2. I'll look at upgrading to the full version in the new year since its got the CDU. Not fussed with all the MFCD exporting malarkey! ;-)
  3. Are there any more instructions that those given on the Icontrol site? My iPad is not connecting and really not sure what to do. I don't know if my iPad i on the same IP subdomain as my PC. Is that the same as subnet Mask? Where should I be looking? What port is my PC on? I know my router has ports but I didn't know my PC was on just one of them? Can I set the IP in game or do I have to make sure it is right before I launch the sim? The icontol little window has a red dot next to 'Sim' and 'Device'. Should they be red? Do they go green? If so when? I've got Bonjour installed but no printer attached to my PC? Does that matter. Quite puzzled. Help! [Edit] Not sure how or why but choosing the Bonjour service option started working and I got myself connected to server (with a green dot next to 'Device'). Initial impressions are it is good for the buttons, not so good for the rotary switches like the ILS and the TACAN. Also, pressing the Master Caution light doesn't clear the caution, I had to press the one in the cockpit. None of the screen shots on the website show the CDU which is what I want to be shown on my iPad. Can you do this with the full version?
  4. Obviously, for all the fans of ED's products this announcement is fantastic news and I for one have sweaty palms at thought of all the goodness coming our way. However, I noticed the most important and awesome module that will blow this flight sim community's head off is missing: DCS Dynamic Campaign Rip it, write it, out source it, charge for it - do whatever you've got to do but do it!:)
  5. So is it deffinitive: if you did the original patch download, have downloaded the new installer and it says it can't find disk 1 that you have to re-download the entire 4+Gb of setup files? Could a mod confirm this?

  10. I upgraded to 64bit this weekend. There was a odd sense of satisfaction in seeing that .75Gb of RAM recovered!
  11. If only it were! No, the only way you can see your controls in game is if you've printed of the keyboard commands list I'm afraid.
  12. My squad moved to the RC of TS3 for ARMA so no TARS for us lately. When you can't use it you realise how much atmosphere it adds to the game (as well as being bloody useful for managing flight comms). Your RC1 compatible version can't get here soon enough as far as I'm concerned. For MP gaming I would consider it as essential as an internet connection!:thumbup:

Probably should go in the wish list but just in case someone around here already knows how it can be done, is it possible to play a sound to a particular freqency rather than to a side/coalition/everyone? I remember in Black Shark there was a radio Mayop (I don't remember the station's name exactly) where you could play music over a particular frequency. Did this feature come across to DCS A10C?
  14. One thing you could consider is creating a scenario. Think about the goals of both sides involved and the organisation of the forces (i.e. disposition and equipment types). Once you have that, you can then start thinking about what sort of sorties need to created based the player's sides objectives. I like this method because it means the scenario leads the mission creation and everything has a logical basis.
  15. Will this allow you to destroy buildings before the start of a missions or dare i hope it's something allowing destroyed objects to be tracked between missions?

  17. I had no idea there were random failures by default. Quite like it myself - opportunity to use emergency procedures drills and such. Would be nice if the event log at the end of the game stated you'd had failure. I know most of the time if something doesn't work my squad mates start griping 'bug!' Good work ED, looking forward to patch.:joystick:

  20. I've been fiddling with the dynamic weather and have found it rather unusable. First, there isn't any clear or precise information on how to create a particular weather state and nor is there any obvious way to control where weather conditions will be. I'm sure it will be awesome with continued development but at the moment it seems rather a puzzling feature.

  22. Me and four others got some time on this mission last night - nearly four hours of 'sometime' to be exact! Wow! The effort to put together all those missions! Brilliant! We can definitely see this being a regular favourite. We had a few issues (but they're not really issues because they're so minor) with mission messages saying we'd completed a task but then we'd receive updates regarding same mission suggesting they we hadn't. The missions were (off the top of my head) a train mission and the Convoy1 mission where you are given three sets of coordinates. Anyway, fantastic mission, really really good. This is the kind of stuff that should be boxed with the game! Rep inbound graywo1fg.:thumbup:
  23. @Speed: what Lua script could I use if I wanted an IF Flag True condition to switch something in the Advanced>Perform Command>Conditions field. For example, say I had an immortal unit and I wanted to change its immortality state to False when Flag X was true?
  24. I believe it's just a limitation of the way multiplayer code is handled at the moment.
  25. Regarding world detail, I was playing a MP mission last night which I'd made with 1015 and hadn't been able to fly with 1016, and I really noticed the lack of terrain detail especially towns. Looking out the canopy it seems very difficult to navigate visually or orientate to ground reference points. I'm hoping I can tweak a graphics LUA to bring in buildings sooner because above a few thousand feet the world looks a bit empty.
