  1. ....and on a related note: If you customise your CMS programs how does the system know which to use? For example, if program 'A' was set for slow chaff and then I re-configured it to rapid flares, is the CMS system intelligent enough to know program 'A' should now be used against IR missiles and not radar threats?
  2. Just a personal opinion, but I wouldn't start adding in pictures. Keep it short and sweet.
  3. +1, it'll be handy as one forgets stuff quickly...
  4. Wow, LUA scripts, that sounds like kinda serious! I've nothing against using them except my absence of knowledge! I wouldn't ask you to go to the trouble of writing one though, as I'd probably be unable to trouble shoot it and have to keep pestering you for answers!:smilewink: Whoa, that's awesome. Gonna need to sit down and digest this one. That looks full on! Re the task being instantly assigned - that's okay isn't it? I mean I can just delay the players being told about it by using a Time Since the Mission ID flag (or whatever) for the mission messages right? Thank you very much guys, I'm feeling everything is possible again!
  5. Thanks for that. Good read but not enough! I understand those principles but I'm falling down on application!
  6. I've been working on a mission for over a week now, sunk loads of hours into it and still can't get it to do what I want. What I want the mission to do is: 1. At game start (players in zone etc) randomly activate one of twelve missions (i.e. a convoy) 2. After a random period of time (say 15-30 minutes) activate another random as yet un-activated mission 3. Have up to, but no more than three missions running at once 4. Randomly decide how many missions will run in total (e.g. minimum of 6 maximum of 12) It seems the trouble I am having is creating a loop that will select un-activated groups/missions in a random order after the first. Any advice would be much appreciated. An excel template would be even better!:drunk:
  7. I'm not at my PC to check your mission but make sure you've set an appropriate frequency for the FAC: 30-76 FM or 116 - 151 AM. I was making a mission setting FAC freqencies outside these ranges so I couldn't contact them.
  8. How will you know, in game, whether or not you or your target are in either the 37T or 38T area?
  9. I wanted to create a very randomised set of missions for my squad to 'muck around' in. This looks like it'll fit the bill perfectly. I'll give it a go and report back when I'm done.
  10. Post patch myself and the group I'm playing with have started having multiple CTDs every MP session. Haven't looked in to crash logs, will get on it.
  11. Sorry WarriorX I think I may deducted reputation by mistake...wtf?!! I will reimburse you with rep later! Thank your for the post, very helpful.
  12. Me and my squad have had problems with no airspeed indication appearing in the HUD. The airspeed data block only shows the 'R0' DTOT dpart. Any ideas what might be causing this? It has happened after manual and automatic start ups.
  13. Just read about that theft. SOB, what a bummer!
  14. Having recently returned to the Black Shark after about an 18 or so month hiatus I've been flying a bit of MP and re-running the SP campaign. The only two things that really bug me are the transparant trees (which means using NOE tactics are often pointless and any SAM units hidden in or near trees have a massive advantage over the player) and the lack of a 3D editor (oh the chore of placing units!). Everything else about the game I love or don't mind! Rating: 90%, not perfect, but still the best.
  15. Bit tech review here: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2011/01/03/intel-sandy-bridge-review/1 All models can be overclocked, the K's by ~1ghz!
  16. Brilliant work. Outstanding.
  17. Ahhh, the old helo-to-helo tactics. My advice when facing Apaches? Wipe them out in the editor. Seriously. They are (were?) an endless source of frustration for me in missions - especially where you have to defend advancing friendly forces...it can quickly degenerate into mission reply hell. The Hinds I can just about cope with but Cobras and Apaches...why bother? They'll usually always spot you first and then hunt you down until your a smokin' hole in the ground.:megalol:
  18. I did the pre-purchase when it was first offered just so I could see the kind of quality A-10C will have on release. Since then I've decided I won't fly any more of the beta releases - I can't be bothered with bugs. My curiosity is satisfied so I'm happy to wait (however long) for the gold release, at which point l'll probably end up sinking all my time into it.:)
  19. When running ACRE in ArmA those in game can only hear each other (as long as they are in range and on the right channel) and those out of game can hear everyone. When we fancy a more relaxed game, we just disable the plug in from TS3 and then the channel behaves normally. Never had a problem with people not being able to just chat, as we usually disable to plugin for mess-around missions. When I'm in a serious mission I don't want people dropping in to say 'hi'.:joystick: Guess this is conjecture though, as TARS may function in a completely different manner with TS3 than ACRE does.
  20. This sounds exactly how the ACRE mod operates in Armed Assault. Brilliant.
  21. I was just about to post the same link. Here's one directly to the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiQ8DG_Xcnk&feature=player_embedded

    Jet Thunder

That is really odd. Surely you'd entice people to buy it now so you can generate cash flow?
