That is really odd. Surely you'd entice people to buy it now so you can generate cash flow?
  2. My only feedback so far is minor (because we've had so much fun getting mauled) and that would be the grouping of units: e.g. the groups consisting of (pretty much) multiple AAA/SAM units of the same type. I think it would be better if they were more mixed in with the other mechanized groups. Waiting for the attack on Anapa is brilliant. Almost an 'Aliens' level of suspence waiting for the onslaught! Also, like the way there are no silly 'areas of death' that are defended by completely unrealisticly deployed weapon sytems just make the player fly the mission in a particular way (at least haven't found any yet).
  3. Me and a friend just played missions 1 & 2. Brilliant. Didn't manage Mission 2 with just the two of us so we're going restart the campaign with two more bods. Great stuff. Love the way it loads the next part automatically.
  4. I wanna do some online Ka50 with TS, without needing to join a squad (already in one for ArmA2/OA) is the 104th the place to look?
  5. Am I right in thinking that with this stick trimming works like a real helicopter - i.e. the cyclic stays in its position when you release the trimmer? Has anyone found flying the Shark more intuitive/easier when you don't need to re-center the stick after every trim? Ignore. Plenty of threads on the topic.:music_whistling:
  6. Was that a joke?
  7. Right. Memory switch time it is then!
  8. Well, played few short multiplayer missions on friday night and then a long single player mission tonight and so far no crashes, so I'm feeling much more positive than I was last week!:) I haven't used that memory switch (yet) so it's the de-installation of FC2 and the removal of the old starforce drivers that seems to have done the trick (hopefully I'm not speaking to soon). Big thanks to everyone who replied - much appreciated. Sometimes it is easy to think your post is gonna sink without a trace. Anyway, lets see how things go...I still have a disappearing cockpit bug that require alt tabbing in and out of the game to cure but lets save that one for another day!:joystick:
  9. Any mission with you facing Apaches is gonna be frustrating unless you're 2 - 1 up in numbers or have local AAA you can lure them into.
  10. Just got another crash - runtime message didn't appear but I was kicked out of game back to debrief screen (which like the other occasions has had no data in it). Anyway, noticed something interesting in event viewer: 875 instances of Driver sfdrv01.sys has been blocked from loading. Not all today and plenty when I haven't even being playing DCS BS! I assume sfdrv01.sys is a starforce driver. I'll give it a go and see if it helps (Thank you)...but not tonight :( ================================================= Further update: Digging into administrative events I discovered a load of these warnings: Looking at the starforce site I seem to have the latest version of the starforce protect.dll. Oh boy I'm beginning to feel royally screwed. Could I have installed a dodgey copy of windows??!!
  11. Are you running 32bit or 64bit OS?
  12. Thanks for the replies - as suggested Panzertard I'll cut the OC'g out of the equation first.
  13. Just got another runtime error after seeing if using earlier Ati driver would help. Looking at the windows event viewer I see if refers to 'protect.dll'. Is this a Starforce issue? Faulting application name: simulator.exe, version: 1.2.1.0, time stamp: 0x4bed01e6 Faulting module name: protect.dll, version: 5.70.13.2, time stamp: 0x4bed03ee Exception code: 0x40000015 Fault offset: 0x00e4ab94 Faulting process id: 0x1658 Faulting application start time: 0x01cb7b5b32fdfb42 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\x86\stable\simulator.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\x86\stable\protect.dll Report Id: 359abff2-e754-11df-9878-002215971e74
  14. I seem to keep getting runtime errors (screen shot attached with crash and error logs). Today I've had two in the last two hours and on saturday I had a couple CTDs during MP. On both of today's occasions I was heads down in the cockpit when the game froze. I'm using CAT 10.10 drivers on a HD5850. Any suggestions that could help troubleshoot these crashes would be greatly appreciated. More info from Windows Event log: Faulting application name: simulator.exe, version: 1.2.1.0, time stamp: 0x4bed01e6 Faulting module name: atiumdva.dll, version: 8.14.10.279, time stamp: 0x4ca294f1 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00001535 Faulting process id: 0x1754 Faulting application start time: 0x01cb7b43ca6bd71c Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\x86\stable\simulator.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\atiumdva.dll Report Id: 6c615d2a-e73c-11df-9553-002215971e74 DxDiag.txt Error.log.txt DCS-20101103-111947.crash.txt
  15. In 3/9 and 5 mil mode the pipper should remain fixed on the ground until you release the pickle button. These two modes are referred to as consent to release. Half way house between CCIP and CCRP.
  16. I thought you clear the station and then load the store back on. At least that's what I'm going to do when I get one!:pilotfly:
  17. I did one quick flight without the manual, realised all the key binds were different to FC2 and then set about taking notes from the Short Manual - that got me going. Printed off and binded 500 pages of the A10C manual at work today...now i've got some light reading material for the next couple of weeks!
  18. Which way do you adjust them to make them less sensative? I've never really understood.
  19. Why's that then?
  20. Sold! Wow, I didn't think it was possible to make the Hog so sexy.:D
  21. It will be interesting to find out what DX11 features ED are planning to utilise. Will it be used to add features or is just a more efficient pipeline? IMO Tesselation would seem to be the most obvious DX11 feature that benefits flight sims as it mean more detailed objects and terrain geometry for 'free'.
  22. Wow. That looks so good...man, I think I know what I'm going to do with my unused annual leave (I can't believe I'm nearly forty and this game makes me want to do that!):megalol:
  23. Before BS I'd flown helicopters in Gunship, the Commanche series, EECH, MS simulator (2004 and X) and Armed Assault - all the usual suspects. For me this blew them all away in terms of realism and, for me, fun factor. Try flying a helo in ArmA. It's so unrealistic and the flight model so basic, it is actually harder to fly than BS. Not much fun. This isn't another nail in confin of the flight sim industry, it is the birth of a new life! Live long and prosper ED!
  24. Cool report, really enjoyed this one and all the ones before - ta!
  25. Nice AAR! (Got to dig up the three before this!) Question: are you using the stock F-15 model? The '15 in your screen shots looks more rounded. Also, did you lock-up each flanker in turn before telling an each wingman to engage or did you just go 'enage bandits'? Looking forward to your next report!
