Did I read correctly over at LockOnFiles that these aircraft mods are not compatible with certain missions and that any missions created with them in may not work with the stock aircraft (refering to the cockpit positioning here)? Or am just confused?:huh:

On the subject of mapping things on the X52, does anyone know how to map the vertical and horizontal scan controls to the rotarys?

I think he recorded that at more like 10km view distance, but I bet you his fps was loooow teens... you ain't missing anything with the A10 in ArmA2... its companies like ED that make playing with helicopters and planes in other games kinda...pointless.

Am I right in thinking that, currently, the size of the detailed terrain area in BS is restricted by game engine being coded as a 32bit app. Once it goes 64bit then a larger world is possible. Right?

What's your score apon landing? I had a similar problem with my campaign result not registering, even though I'd completed the mission to the required 59%. The solution was to re-download the campaign.

I really don't think ED are doing this manual for the money. I'd be suprised if they made more than a few dollars off of each copy.

The reason for the mismatch is the ME doesn't account for the curviture of the earth and the game world does. I suspect, that the compensation values you have given will not apply to every location on the ME map. There have been a few threads on this subject and in one a formula for converting the coordinates from the ME to in-world (for the ABRIS) is given.

This has happened to me a few times too, but I've never had the presence of mind to save the track so i could review what happened.

GGTharos and RedTiger - both your points are very valid, but end of the day really your talking about timespans and details. Air Superiority UAVs are just a matter of 'when' not 'if'. Admitidly, that 'when' is a pretty big 'when?'. :)

'Numbers needed' is always a debateable point. I think there is a valid arguement in thinking soon we won't be needing manned aircraft for air defence roles so why spend billions on the F22 now? Swarms of UAVs controlled by a central, manned, aircraft seems like the logical way to go. Interesting times ahead.

Although it would be interesting, I can think of a ton of helicopters I'd rather fly first. Hovering over the sea for hours aint that much fun if you ask me.

I usually burn off all my cannon ammo as well just to make me a wee bit lighter. Hasn't helped much though...
