Slugmouse - a mouse button emulator for hand-tracked cockpit clicking.
TFS replied to slughead's topic in Virtual Reality
I agree, I am holding out for the stats on what there MR plate will be capable of. Otherwise the next release from meta will probably be huge. They have so much data now, so much experience and feedback. Just their software is meh. But a Quest 4 or a quest 4 pro could be crazy. I already wonder how a headset could look better than it does now. Hand tracking should be a future staple in headsets, as with inside out tracking, and display port connectivity and pcvr priority. That's where the money throwing customers are lol.- 364 replies

Slugmouse - a mouse button emulator for hand-tracked cockpit clicking.

This is the issue, I have a handful VR headsets, I've tried almost all of them. Pimax quality is incredible, but too much of a headache and inconsistency from the software. Hand tracking will have to be a must have in the future, after using the Quest 3, the lenses are incredible, and the hand tracking is what feels nearly perfect. I don't even use controllers anymore when moving around or using menus. It's $500.... UNREAL. They set the precedence for the future of hand tracking as a fractional cost. The CV1 was my first headset and I swore I wouldn't get in a bed with Facebook EVER after that headset, nothing wrong with the headset, I just don't care for the decisions of facebook with their user agreements or forced decisions, but the product has pushed the industry standards. Pimax is the next level, they just need to square away the QOL issues. They are being extremely transparent currently which is a fresh start. I'd like to see their super take off and include precise hand tracking and I'm back on the Pimax train.- 364 replies

I had this same issue and this seems to have fixed it, thank you, HOWEVER, why did this occur and what can I do to prevent this, everything was fine, I was playing just fine, updated the game, then tried to play again and this error occurred. Was this user error?

I thought my hardware was overheating. I have sometimes sparkling white dots in my view in VR. It's not in any one place consistently. It's here and there inconsistently and can appear anywhere. I can be looking outside and still sit it sometimes. It's on the rare side but always wondered wtf it is and why or how to stop it.

I'm gonna have to be THAT guy... Any chance you might do an overlay like this Kiowa overlay for the chinook since it has an pretty cool AI copilot too? It's early access, so obviously things will update and change... just asking.
-
Yes it is fixed wing always for mods or new modules. It uses the Su. So you don't get helicopter functions. Only one I know if that can be used like a helo is the Blackhawk by modifying the .lua file to the mi8 telemetry.
-
I am hoping the telemetry on thus bird us aggressive, it's almost too smooth to fly, too easy, it feels like it's just gliding, no shaking dashboard or anything. The Huey feels heavy, shakes, bucks like a bronco. This chinook is silky smooth. I get it's silky smooth in real life, but I hope etl or vrs is prominent. The kiowa is so light that the vibrations are easy going. This is basing my ignorance to how haptics work. I assume it's built from in game telemetry and sound, and not the program that invents the cues.
-
Yes this is what I was referring to, I should have provided the link. It will make mods work like oh6 with haptics and any new module that isn't supported yet, it uses a fixed wing profile.

How did you get the pilot model to show up in the cockpit...? -
The mod support module Andre released works with the chinook. Same steps, activate mod support action slot 1 and 2 and then load SSA as normal and enjoy for now till it's officially supported. Still uses the FW profile, but works.

I do, I'll have to check that I didn't even think that would be a thing.

Same, I have a 14900k, 4090, 64gb 6400 ddr5 ram, m.2 and this is the first time I've seen dips in FPS in VR on a quest 3. Everything else is butter, still playable, but no where near anything it's fine, get near <profanity>... throws a fit. Gotta be the huge textures in the cockpit, don't get me wrong, the cockpit is extremely good looking, but I'd rather a smoother experience.
-
It's actually a big deal that it's not... the Chinook might be out only hope. Think about it, the Huey was a fricken transport helo, Chinook apparently will show cargo. Why not just even have static troops, and they disappear just like when they are getting on or off outside the helo. Would be neat in the black hawk too. These helos were iconic for what happened behind the pilots seat...

Still works, and it's an awesome addition, HOW is this not implemented in the game already.

Could curves adjust for this? My helicopter controls seem 1 to 1 in vr. -
Necksafer works 100% on mp with no ic issues. I use it everyday.

I've had my 14900k since November 2023, haven't had issues, I did the bios update from May 2024 though, (Intel states a BIOS update to address this later this month August 2024) I use process lasso to use P core 1-7 and no cores parked and XMP for Ram OC. I monitor temps, so far so good, never a bsod, never ctd, DCS runs like butter in VR. -

Point control works without an HMD with hand tracking, it uses its own IR sensor. Thats why.- 364 replies
