  1. Been flying it in Afghanistan non stop since the EA release. Blackhawk has been my favorite helicopter, I only fly helos. Now, could someone direct me how to change the pilot model OR reskin the pilots myself. They are the other thing about the mod that irks me, that plastic flight suit look. Unless impossible, then I'll go right back to minding myself and enjoying everything else
  2. Totally thought I responded after I tested it, your update fixed the issue and now works flawlessly. I have not seen or noticed any other issues, I use it daily since your update. Great work!
  3. Seems so, lots of people seem to be stuck at this step. Mostly non steam vr users too. I see the add-on I downloaded and it recognizes fine now, in the main menu it works in 2d and makes the changes immediately in my HMD on the menu screen. Now as soon as I load a mission, single player or multiplayer it is auto disabled. I got so close lol... SO CLOSE. I'm using oculus app, link cable, quest 3. I have a 4090 don't know if I would see performance impact but the user file I downloaded (Colour Grade Profile [reshade] v.3.0 (digitalcombatsimulator.com) looks AMAZING in 2d at least. https://vrtoolkit.retrolux.de/install.html this is the toolkit I used to see the add-on section which changes the reshade in my HMD, but only in the menu...
  4. Does this allow me to take a aircraft or pilot, and add my own color or pattern in and it will populate in game. Like livery changing made easy? Or is this just sharing and managing existing liveries?
  5. Agreed 100%, the wind sock ingame works. This is quite easy to implement with smoke effects. I'm sorry I didn't show love for the fixed wings and was selfish in my wishlist for rotorheads
  6. So I found a addon called vr toolkit or something, it changes the vr shaders in the menu using 2d, however in a single player mission I no longer wants and it's deactivated thinking it's multi-player. So I guess I can't use it online either.
  7. I have it working fine in 2d, while in vr and in the settings tab I do not see anything that says sync. Care to explain further please?
  8. For CSAR this would be amazing. Now that rotorwash is added, It would be incredible if smoke interacted with rotor wash vortex. Anyone heard on this, news or plans? The little details always add such immersion. I love CSAR, always hated hovering in or above the smoke and it just lays there. Or is there a mod?   14. Look at Caucasus, so much clutter and what looks like actual garbage piles picked up in satellite images in the suburbs. It's everywhere really.
  15. While not the ideal way, I use voice attack for this purpose. Specially on servers I do ctld on. I map the f commands out and add it to voice attack. I'll just about land say troops deploy, or unload crate and it's auto pressed the commands in order and takes about half a second. Not built in, but a solid workaround...
  16. So I tried to do the opposite and find the issue visuals. I really tried to go back over this with fresh eyes. I am having a hard time finding the BAD vs the good. I've flown nearly non stop in this map,(helicopters) spent hours going from map to map comparing a lot of things. Everytime I see something that is off it appears "the usual" on every other map. Which, I also find gorgeous visuals on every map. Be that it may... I do have a well tuned higher end pc in vr. I actually have the opposite experience, I see lots of satellite terrain untouched still, however this is found throughout the majority of Caucasus, yet its still a great visual experience. Lots of 2d imagery, used on every map so this is nothing new. I see farmland next to squared textures in certain spots, but it's few and far between and looks easily fixable, and still what's seen on other maps. I hate other maps, low and slow helo, miles of nothing, flat tan in all directions. Now open space is fill with farmland and various rivers or streams, even if it's satellite and not touched up yet. It's refreshing and gives you something to look at or hide troops for sporadic engagements. Unlike spotting a single enemy from miles and miles away in a flat desert. I'm not looking for perfection, but I have not seen anything that's game breaking. Maybe my expectations are lower, not once have I flown and thought "this is absurd". I've seen the major graphical terrain alignments, these will be corrected. I'm expecting more issues than I'm seeing this early. I'm not getting pop ins, or shadows out of nowhere, aside from the usual here and there, few and far between again. I've seen people's pictures that upset them, yet it seems it's minimal and often harder to find than complementing visuals. This whole back and forth baffles me in this community, and has taken up too much of my time trying to find as many issues as possible, so I too can help report things to ED for future updates. (The whole purpose I bought this in the first place) Mission editors have already been doing some cool things with fobs and base setup. And lastly, being this update has caused many issues for many, this map runs extremely well, however I don't have many issues on other maps anymore so that isnt the best baseline maybe. I spend a lot of time trying to make DCS better. So now as a community, let's continue to scout the issues and report, rather than efforts in... "but this areas this or this area is that". Let's be the future, or does optimism really grind people's gears that much?
  17. 100% gonna give this a try. This sounds like possibly my dream csar setup if the rescues forever separated lol, however the download link is 404 not found for me with several attempts. I tried the "Through the Inferno" files this morning after this post. They do a great job of what I was thinking for the helicopter troop insert and csar, but so much else going on. They were even scaled down to much closer sites, on Marianas it was 2.5nm and 7nm, perfect. If there was a dedicated version of just that it would be great. I wonder if that script could just be isolated with all the helo focused stuff. COIN, CTLD, CSAR with the ch47, UH1, even UH60 focused style like those scripts would be lots of fun.
  18. Are there any persistent style missions that can be played cooperatively that is helicopter focused consisting of shorter distance, (4-10nm) infantry focused transport missions. No air threats, just troop hot insertion and extraction vs various enemy infantry locations. I tried blades of glory, and this is where I got the idea from. Does anyone know if something like this exists? Or something like ECW style picking up troops, bringing them to an enemy location till they are destroyed and then extract and move to the next location. With Afghanistan partly here, and CH47 around the corner these style missions would be a blast, quick action, especially if escorted by an AH or few transport helos together. I've been toying with trying to make something myself, but the learning curve has been rather aggressive for me. Thanks.
  19. From my understanding dcs runs better on p cores 1-8? That's all I'm using in a 14900k with process lasso. This was other people's reccomendation. Or you're saying e cores will help with menus only and may effect ingame performance?

  21. Thats what I thought about VD, I have a very powerful wireless setup, I have no interest in wireless, I always enjoy everything hardwired. Otherwise I tried the blank hanger, it creates many extremely jagged black lines stuttering all over the bottom of my screen now, I am not a fan but I am sure it helps. Tried without it again, F10 map isn't creating issues anymore, it seems this was server specific at the time of my first online play after the update. Still gonna try the blank hanger as I am sure it only help, but those black jagged stutter effects are annoying lol Thanks for your replies.

I see the frustration from everyone IF they thought this was a completed release, that seems to be the mention time and time again stating the FAQ mentioned that it's a final release of SW during an EA of an overall map. My thoughts of the FAQ was feature complete meaning locations and layout with structures, being early access, meaning not finished as a full release. So to clarify, the SW is final release... or EA? I know the overall map is EA, but is SW EA? I genuinely thought SW was EA and any issues located, as they requested, would still be worked on in the future for updates. If SW is final release in it's current state and no further work will be done, then it's a shame, meaning only the parts that look good will look good. If SW is EA, then I don't get the uproar. EDIT: Just read the other post that @Schlingel mit Kringel quoted by ED. Guess my assumption was right. Too many people jumped to conclusions too soon. The future IS bright. I stand by this purchase and continue to enjoy the experience.
  23. Empty VR hangar for less VRAM usage and faster F-10 ingame map (digitalcombatsimulator.com) downloaded this, gonna try tonight. VD still confuses me, I use link cable as it charges my Quest 3, I don't want to go wireless, my understanding is VD is for wireless no using link cable? I don't think I can benefit from this.
  24. I'm gonna look into the blank hanger mod you mentioned. I have a 4090 and never had a problem before. Haven't played in a few days but when I tried it the day after the update, f10 map came up, fine and all, when I switched back to f1 view I thought my game crashed it locked up so hard for was breaking up for like a minute. Never had that happen ever. Everytime I touched f10 boom same thing on return. I'll give it a shot again.
