Re-install / repair it with clean update, no mods. Make sure you don't have a stupid anti-virus software, which could put DCS files into quarantine.

What you are describing is not the normal behavior for wheel brakes. As soon as you release a brake, it should stop being activated. Anyway, in DCS, I rarely taxi the F-15C with wheel brakes, but I would rather use the rudder axis. Did you check your key mappings ? Did you calibrate your input device ? I am joining a take-off track so you can check how wheel brakes work with my setup (right Ctrl + Enter to show the axis inputs). F-15C_WheelbrakesTest_Nellis_01062024_12-55.trk

It seems that beta patch for M-2000C has been privately released. There is still hope, we might see the fix for next DCS update.

Awesome new skins for the F-8 ! No kidding, I have been flying the F-8 for some hours, just for fun. It is indeed far from an actual flyable mod, but good enough for some nice screenshots ! Thank you for your work !

Congrats, very good choice. VKB is a very solid brand. Some people use "premade" mapping, but I prefer to do it by myself. I find it easier to remember my mappings like that (start with the "basics" axis-flaps-brakes-gears-trim, then map your most used functions). I personally still use my mouse off the side. Either I hold my stick with weak hand and use dominant hand for the mouse, or I just level-flight all-trimmed, and I leave the stick for less than 5 seconds.

A small comparison to reality with pictures

Not too shabby. Bodo area ? Overall feeling is good. Some land/sea demarcation details are still off, but that we already know. Thank you for the video ! Much appreciated. -
Fail lights and fail ADI after cold start
mikko.1842 replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in DCS: Mirage F1
It seems that you have never tried the tutorials. Start-up tutorial takes like 10-15 min. Repeat it 3-4 times, and you will be able to cold start in any situation. Basic F-1 tutorial missions will have you spend 4-5 days max over your 10 "cram days". If you don't want to read, watch videos, or just learn, DCS might not be the best game for you. By the way, start-up tutorial does show you where you should click. One of the good points of a full-fidelity module is that you don't need to do control mapping for EVERY button of the cockpit. F-1 cockpit is overwhelming in game... as it is in real life. Aerges can do and will do nothing about that. If you find it too dark, there are mods that can make the cockpit brighter/clearer. Enjoy. -
Fail lights and fail ADI after cold start
mikko.1842 replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in DCS: Mirage F1
Maybe OP could take some time and try the tutorial missions... Cold start is well explained there. -
I have not done the swap, but theoretically, you will gain from 10% to 20% FPS (depending on your hardware, settings, resolution, etc...) Up to you to assess whether it is worth or not.

YES, YES, YES and YES !!! Awesome mod !

As of May 2024, I am happily using my Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick with JoeyJojoJunior's SimFFB v3.2, available in GitHUB. I use it when I fly some old mods (Grinelli Edge 540 and Extra 330 SR) which do not support force feedback. Those aerobatic planes do not require much trimming. Here are my settings : Whoever designed simFFB, thank YOU ! I am having so much fun with these 2 mods. I am using a stock Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, and I did not encounter such issues. Sorry I could not help you...

Dear Dev Team, Yak-52's bort numbers are currently bugged. For instance, in Mission Editor, with "The Yakovlevs" livery (default livery), when I input a tail number, it will never show the actual Yak-52_bort_number_YT.dds (but the default bort number, overlapping Russia's roundel) . I am pretty sure that the last updates did modify the way Yak-52's description.lua file was written. The native description.lua is as follows : The "BN part" is obviously outdated and wrong. Could you tell us how bort numbers should be coded in 2024 ? It would be so nice, especially for aerobatics squadrons. Last point, custom_args are outdated and wrong too. Currently, argument [70] does not exist anymore. This is how current custom_args work now : This also implies that every Yak-52's skin available in your website ( "Downloads/User files" ) has bugged bort numbers. Reminder : this is how "The Yakovlevs" default livery should look like (you can compare the bort number with my last screenshot) : I do understand that Yak-52 is in a near-death-experience-state, so I know it will be on your low priority list. Thank you for your time all the same. Best regards.

Best way to start landing procedure? Plus the ballooning issue

I saw some Russian submarines around Severomorsk 1 and Murmansk, it was nice. They put some Russian Company's names around the peer too, much appreciated. The map is not "beautiful", but it is not half-bad in my opinion. Of course, the further you go from the main detailed area, the worse it is (texture-wise). From mid altitude to up high, Kola does provide a nice view. I wish they could have started detailed map with the western part, but "it is what it is", I will have to wait.

Tobii Eye Tracker 5 - Stuttering Whilst Panning
mikko.1842 replied to CommandT's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi there, good Sir. I'm not sure I understood correctly. I guess your head movement input is a horizontal rotation, with fixed rotation speed, whereas the Tobii tracker would not draw a fixed rotation speed but slow down at times, right ? 1) I think ET5 is native 33 Hz, but you can use the overdrive to enhance the rate (I guess you already enabled the overdrive in Tobii Gamehub settings). It might explain the "not so smooth" tracking. 2) Some ET5 users don't use Tobii Gamehub but FaceTrack NoIR or Opentrack, and they find them to work better than Tobii Gamehub. 3) All in all, I'm afraid Track IR may be the best tracking solution for what you do (content creation), as it will produce a more accurate and snappy tracking. 4) Last thing, there seems to be a hype around Beam Eye Tracker. Some people are saying Beam ET may be better than Track IR or Tobii ET5. Maybe you could get to test it / sponsor. Disclaimer : I use Tobii ET5, and I have no experience with Track IR nor Delanclip nor Beam ET -
DCS's Mirage 2000 is a Mirage 2000C. 2000C can't use MICA in real life, and neither can they in DCS. Now, if you wish to shoot MICA with DCS's 2000C, there may be some mods that will allow that. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335164/

ED confirmed Kola woudn't grant you any Miles. As someone already said, Kola is made by 3rd party team, and they chose not to be part of the Miles program. I suppose that Orbx wasn't sure about how good Kola's sales would be, as it is their first DCS product, so it sorta makes sense. Of course, I too wish they would join the Miles program, but it is what it is. If you plan on flying over Kola frequently, Miles shouldn't be an issue.
-
You are selling it very well, Sir. I was planning on not buying it, but you are making me reconsider things. Thank you for your review.
-
CommandT did release some Caucasus road base videos back in the days. I'm confident several content creators are working on that already. Not Kola but it can give you some ideas :

A pity Kola map's purchase won't grant you any juicy miles... Well, I guess I will wait a little bit for other people's experience.

Alphajet mod by Split Air
mikko.1842 replied to TAT0R's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
French Air Force upgraded their Alphajet E with HUD + better avionics, during the 2000s. Now it's up to Split-Air team to make an early non-HUD Alphajet E, or a late Alphajet E, or... both ? 1 min 15 s to 1 min 21 s -
