Could you please explain further? I'm curious about the "known issue" with tracks. Never heard about what it is. Also, when you say "retab", do you mean ALT-TAB and back into the sim?
-
Well, at least we can claim that lockonfiles was "hack worthy"... Hopefully it will get sorted out soon as we "chit chat" away about it in a non-lockon forum... DOH!
-
People keep missing the issues with the lockonfiles site since these posts keep getting moved to the "Chit Chat" forum instead of the "Lock On" forum. Me thinks lockonfiles fits the lockon topic... but me not make the rules!:music_whistling::smilewink:

This 3 page article pretty much sums it up: http://www.simhq.com/_air7/air_241a.html :megalol: "Remember, you're not alone..." I tell my fiancee I'm going to go fly and she knows I'll be out for at least three hours and being interrupted isn't really an option once I enter the "man room". She takes time to do her own things, and the time away makes for better time spent together later on! Just be specific about what you want to do (women appreciate honesty) and hopefully she'll understand - but it will only work if you stick to your guns (literally) once you step into the "man cave"! It does take some 'meeting halfway', and that goes for your wife too! :smilewink: Besides, whomever said "get her a laptop" is totally right!!! It's the perfect "wife-sitter" and in some way makes them take part in your computer geekiness (albeit in different rooms). EDIT: Send her to this virtual fashion game/site and she'll stay clear for hours: www.missbimbo.com :music_whistling::lol: I usually have to pry my fiancee off the laptop well after I'm done flying. She's hooked...!!

I realized that now re-reading the post... I made made a hasty reply before heading out the door to a wedding this morning. Yea, a guide to all the settings and parameters for the graphics.cfg would be nice! Another tip is to download LOCFG and "reverse engineer" some of the settings it changes to find what they correspond to in the graphics.cfg. Just a thought!

Nice Ironhand... In some of our older military birds (w. steam guages), the mechs paint on the airspeed arcs with paint on the glass of the instrument itself. Helps a great deal to set rpm, and not exceed limitations in combat even when the guage didn't sport any colors in the first place (other than a red line).

A great looking combination: Air Base Ground Textures Ground Pounder Mod Tree Shader Mod All 3 can be found on www.lockonfiles.com P.S. Then bump your graphics settings up real high and it will look even better! ;)

Stick, Throttle, Pedals

Might as well invest in a Cougar now, and keep upgrading it in the future. You'll never go back! I'd second the TIR suggestion! Makes a world of difference... -

SERVERS that use/alow ACMI-Tac-View
LawnDart replied to cool_t's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
So, how much cheating actually takes place in organized servers or squads? I would guess cheating is more likely to occur in random Hyperlobby servers than at respectable places (squad servers, matches, ladders etc.), but I don't fly enough combat to really know... -
SERVERS that use/alow ACMI-Tac-View
LawnDart replied to cool_t's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
No game will ever be 100% cheat free - period! Luckily most cheaters lack something non-cheaters don't; whether it's skill, lack of SA, enough dedication or plain sense... They are more of a nuisance if you ask me, than a real problem. -
Aha... VISTA! I digress... :music_whistling:

I'm going to have to say yes to that... ;) On rare occasions I've seen tracks where wingmen (AI or multiplayer) aren't traced in the correct positions and since a track is not just a "recording" of events, but a "recreation" (in real time) the sim will model ground, proximity to other jets etc. as it sees it, leading to events that didn't exactly occur the same way when it was flown. Luckily disparities like this seem to happen very infrequently though and the tracks for the most part are very accurate.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but how come myself and apparently many others here are able to run LOFC with 8x nVidia cards, forceware drivers and not experience any crashes? Sounds like the culprit isn't compatibility issues between LOFC and forceware drivers to me, but something more unqiue to your rig. :noexpression:

DOH!!! ggg87, I'm in the same boat... 8800, never had a CTD. Good points you brought up!
-
How about a style sheet first, then create a banner to fit? Just an idea, as it's easier to create graphics to fit, than an entire style to fit a banner... I saw the archives... good deal!
-
CTD's? I consider myself pretty computer savvy, but I'm stomped... what is this (abbreviation)? (Google'd that shit and the results: Cheaper Than Dirt, Cumulative Trauma Disorder, or Center for Talent Development... I think not!). Also, I run a nVidia 8800 card and it works perfectly with LockOn (aside from the shader issue (full shadows) previously reported many many times). @airmad, check your virtual memory settings on your computer too! If you're using a built in GPU with a laptop, you could be sharing video memory and system memory and you'd likely need to have a large page file (allowed) or apps may run low on memory (and crash). Try setting at least 2048 MB for your page file with no upper limit, just to be sure that's not it.

DCS: Black Shark - Dev Updates - 09 July 2008
LawnDart replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Great update Wags!!! So, which block is WIP for the Viper again... ;) -
Jumping to conclusions... there's nothing wrong with your PC, eh? News flash: Most people do not have problems running LockOn, so something in your rig is causing problems whether it's a setting somewhere, a currupt install, hardware or software (LockOn or other software run in the background). Explain IN DETAIL what happens, when and provide as much information as you can. Are you running Vista in admin mode? Are you using AA/AF on your graphics card? What other processes are running in the background? When does the crash occur (in flight, in menu, while loading etc. etc.)...? No one will feel sorry for you unless you make an honest attempt to clearly convey your problem and provide enough info for others to provide a possible solution. Just some food for thought! ;) Saying "it's surely not Vista" or "nothing is wrong with my computer" is only frustration talking and the odds of someone else pinpointing your problem is about as big as winning the lottery!

I have no problem keeping the VFAT forums with JaBoG if that's an option. It's already established, but wouldn't hurt to spice up the forums with some custom banner and graphics etc. Archiving older years posts and re-creating the same topics for '08 etc. It's easy as long as some orginizers have admin rights... Cya all over there!

ED people from aerobatics guys
LawnDart replied to leandromarrone's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Either way, I just hope they implement the wishes of the patch 1.13 discussion thread + the phantom/ghost plane integration. Whether it's DCS: BS or a LOFC patch... -
Nice video. Especially like the HUD footage!!!
