I was allso in a dilemma when i decided to replace my X45 and at the start i was really tempted to go for the Cougar because at that time the Cougar prices plunged about 50% making the CH stick more expensive then the complete Cougar HOTAS.
So i browsed the forums and basicly found out exactly what this tread has shown so far:
1 : The Cougar is cheaper then the CH but ( if your unlucky ) not so reliable and, in the opinion of many Cougar owners, it first will be perfect when modded for aditional costs wich would make it ewen more expensive then the CH.
2 : The Cougar is made of metal with a spring on the base ( allmost like the X45 ) CH is made of Plastic composite with no spring on the base so i guessed it would be a really different feel to fly with it.
3 : CH costumer support would be exellent and for some reason not one of the Cougar owners ever expressed any doubt in that direction.
In the end i decided to by the CH because i dont care if plastic or metal as long it works and im not good at electronics so smoldering small black, red and green wires on potmeters is just no job for my big butcher hands.
It took a few weeks to really get used to this stick because as i expected it feels totally different compared to my old stick it is extremely precise and with minimal tension all the way to the gimbal limits :joystick: not like the old stick i had bolted on my desk so it wouldnt move when i armwrestled with .
So now i got the CH fighterstick teamed up with my X45 Throttle and CH pro pedals and it works perfectly with my personal profile setup. :pilotfly:
