  1. As one of your biggest detractors in the Afghanistan map, who knew within a brief free flight mission that I didn't like it, I want to say good jobs folks Took the 16 in the free flight mission in VR stayed down low at about 500ft and 562 knots to Al Asad, and OXRTK reported only two instances where it could not maintain the target FPS. Tiniest amount of stutter here and there but otherwise it was pleasant.
  2. I have the same experience as you do. Super smooth in the middle, but the second I look over to the sides, stu-stu-stutter. It's a small, but very rhythmic stutter. The civ sim and the other combat sim that I play do not exhibit the same issues. Kinda reminds me of screen tearing.
  3. trying to download but it's the only program from the whole openxr series to ever trigger this response from my PC : Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml
  4. I have the same thing, no.
  5. exactly this! Decided to reinstall the OXRTK and others back and my performance went up. Kandahar landing mission with the F4 used to drop me down mid 50's when landing and 45fps while taxing to a particular spot. Today it dropped to 65 whilst landing and then 58 at my spot where I shut down. A massive improvement. The F4 and Tom are the biggest hogs when it comes to performance and having all these apps helped out. The f16 cold and dark mission in the PG map has a bunch of F-15e's parked and taxing and with everything enabled and set (I have my headset at 72hz) and locked to 70fps, it stayed locked at 70fps as I started up the F16 and followed the last flight of Mudhens down the taxi and flew formation with them.
  6. What are the default cams? I don’t remember if it’s the NO-ARC one on a medium spring, It’s been awhile for me. I use SC-1S (self centering detent) for both axis. Medium spring on the roll and heavy on the pitch. Dampers on the free sides. Do get yourself some dampening grease as there will be less binding. My springs creak when trying to make small movements. As for shipping, I bought the triple pack vr mfd kit today. I figure tomorrow will be the start of the actual processing. I’m curious how long this will take this time
  7. updated
  8. They have a trial period that begins the day you receive it. Just put it through its paces if you get it in that time. And it really is true, once you go VR it’s extremely difficult to go back to playing on a flat screen only.
  9. Not every map and missions within are going to yield the same fps unless you’re willing to compromise on some settings to get a more consistent playing experience. Also isn’t the G2 only at 2160 per eye? That’s the medium setting on the PCL so you should be getting similar if not better results with your new headset over the G2 and with that 4090.
  10. Are you using readers only? I normally wear bifocals and when I ordered my lenses for the PCL I used the distance correction only and it works beautifully. If you don’t need the cheaters to see distance try it without them. Unfortunately for me my prescription really isn’t that strong at all and mostly corrects for astigmatism in one eye and slight distance (like .25) on the other. Also, I’m sure that you’re aware that the HMD gets a bit too tight with the glasses and lenses, so I also wound up getting a new face cushion from studioform. good luck!
  11. Hmm, just checked the website, guess there’s no option to pay for a non local dimming version or one without handsets. However, the current option is less expensive than the previous price with handsets as that was 899 usd plus tax, whereas this is 886 plus tax. Still having an option where you don’t need to be a subscriber would be ideal. @Calvin.Pimax I have an issue with your support team regarding sales and the ED promotion that was going on last month. That I would like to take on in direct messaging if you will.
  12. It’s how I bought mine. No controller. I wanted to buy the least expensive version that had a pay-walled local dimming option, but that too was unavailable to me. So I settled with the $799 version
  13. I'm sorry, I should have written render settings. I set mine to custom, and then played around with the slider until I got consistent low-level performance. I usually test this in the BFM instant mission in Afghanistan using either the F-14 or F4. I fly low tight circles over the Tarinkot airfield which has a good mix in object density to make sure that I don't dip below 60fps. I also lock my fps at 60. I'm gpu limited with DCS and the VR setting I want to go with, so this winds up working well for me. The render settings can also be found in the VR section in DCS under pixel density Just below the enable VR headset settings
  14. I’ll admit, I'm extremely spoiled lol. Normally when I place an order I expect shipping within 3 days if the order placement. I’m reasonable with actual delivery as once it leaves their warehouse it becomes the shipping company’s responsibility. Except that when I order from WW it’s 4 days of processing, followed by another 3 packing, and then up to another two more days for it to actually make it to UPS for what amounts to next day shipping. I’m lucky enough that if I need a computer part, I can always get it from Newegg because they’re also about 40 min away. I can just drive and pick it up. I’m glad you are all getting your toys. Enjoy them. excise me while I go off and see if there is anything else I want to buy from them, and then subsequently bellyache about their shipping! lol
  15. Third trigger: Master arm for nearly all aircraft prior to getting the Orion throttle (never mapped it to the Virpil one) On the F4 I use it for gun switch arm/safe. mini hat for slewing TGP etc, or Jester controls
  16. Let me ask you what is your preferred frame rate? I am on a 4080 super and this is what I did. I increased the pixel density up to 80 disabled any upscaling and if you can personally handle it, antialiasing. Igf you’re not affected by it, this should give you a locked 60fps in city areas on the deck. A 4090 is capable of more so you should be in the 70-80 range. Up in higher altitudes the fps will be higher. You’ll be able to make out every dial and display within the cockpit when looking at it within the quad view center. I lock my fps to 60 btw and set the Pimax to 120. I don’t know if it a bug in the software but when I don’t lock it at 60, I get dips into the mid 50s, I lock it at 60 it stays at 60 unless it’s too graphically demanding.
  17. For some reasons the maths just didn’t work out for me 1- (13660/66535) Gave me a number of 0.794694522 which I set as 79% Cans would light up slightly prematurely or at detent. Went +/- 2 no dice. alt tab all the way to check back and forth. I settled on 70% even though the AB detects stayed within the original calculations. So far that’s the magic number for all aircraft too. Lucky that I don’t need to setup multiple aircraft I guess?
  18. Congrats! Please don’t check winwing for their shipping, you’ll have a better time watching white paint dry! I literally live about 40 minutes away from their warehouse in NJ and it usually takes them about 5 days processing then another day or two to ship. It’s frustrating. Every time I order stock from them I ask if I can just pick it up, and every time it’s crickets. You’d think I’d get the hint lol!
  19. MFSB Yeah, the upgrade left a lot for those who decided to do it with sticks that couldn't be calibrated properly. I didn't go that route and never purchased the base with it. Cams & Springs The default springs are okay, I think it's the medium tension one. It stinks that you have to buy extra cams and springs and dampers to dial it in, when the competition offers them in the initial package. It's not a deal breaker mind you, but I think it is a necessity if you're running an extension, and if you want to run a certain configuration where you have 4 cams and springs, that will put you back $100 usd. The four-sided cam setup is a special use case but a pricey one at that.
  20. I've only had my PCL since mid-September, but it's been great with no issues. The few times I needed customer support (to help out with user error) they've been prompt. Helpful on discord too. fingers crossed, I guess.
  21. it's not
  22. It doesn't stutter on mine by keeping SMT enabled, not sure why it would stutter for yours, mine had the tiniest amount of stutter by disabling SMT.
  23. Yes, I would believe so, although I did go about for a while using it with dampers only for a couple of modules with great success, You can convert the orion2 base back to its more ubiquitous configuration, however Winwing suggests that you just buy another base. I remember reading that people were having trouble installing them on their own and so to avoid headache I think that's why they made the MFSB unavailable for stand-alone purchase. If there are complaints that I have with the Orion 2 base is that it's a bit sloppy in the middle with the default cam and spring, and this is where the damper helps to minimize the bounce back as well as the different cams. I would ask if the MFSB kit come with cams and springs
  24. I can help. So, with the dampeners will help with actually keeping the Cyclic in place and depending on how tight you make them, can benefit from accidental deflections, I would suggest getting some dampening grease as there can be some play at neutral. I felt that the rubber boot was a hinderance and so I bought a cheap leather shift boot and replaced it with that. No more deflection from the boot. Lucky, looking at this video the answer is no as all four sides will be occupied by the MFSB.
  25. I tried playing DCS with SMT disabled on my 9800x3d setup (VR) and this actually introduced tiny, yet noticeable micro stutters and fps dips. I then went back to ryzen master and re-enabled it. OP are you able to run a stress test/benchmark on your cpu? I know you recently sold your 7800x3d but did you ship it yet (I figured it wouldn’t hurt to test the setup again just to be sure)
