  1. Ha! That’s one I haven’t heard in a while! I’m more Foghorn than Dim. They actually shot at me first as I went out to scout the area, I don’t know if that’s a bug or not. Again, love the chatter. When we flew it was a bit more spicier at times, but we had three crewed, and we mostly chatted about the cute KBR girls that we would take on our flights. Of course that’s peacetime and not anytime out over there. Anyway, can’t wait to hear what comes next on episode 8. cheers!
  2. Cheers mate, popped all three, got the little bit about guardian angels, or something like that and then silence. No report back to Magic available. Flew around a bit to see if there was anything else, but couldn’t spot anything. So I’m officially lost on this one edit: you clever clogs, gotcha! lol what threw me off is a bit of a bug in the game. I was able to destroy a mortar team before I was supposed to even engage them. It twigged when Foggy denied having done anything. I was like you wot mate?
  3. Loving the chit chat going on between crews, making me a bit homesick really. I have to ask, where the heck are the mortar crews in the hills? I got the East and West (clever hiding alongside the building), but that north crew? Sneaky SOB's or is there are trigger that I miss when trying to find them? Anyway, cheers mate loving it so far, even if I had to skip one mission because it was bugged and wouldn't complete.
  4. Folks, when you’re posting pictures of terrain that is taken from 10k+ feet know that you’re proving the very same point us rotor heads are making about this map. The detail up high has, for the most part, looked great, and yeah Afghanistan looks gorgeous in some spots when up high. But it’s an illusion that’s broken up once you’re down low. from the very description on the product marketing page that despite acknowledgments to the contrary, remain: Key Features at Early Access Release The entirety of Afghanistan with the southwestern portion available in high detail at Early Access release. High resolution terrain mesh, textures and objects provide a realistic map from low to high altitude. Numerous, authentically modelled airbases like Kandahar and Herat. Diverse terrain ranging from towering mountains to vast deserts. Recreate battles spanning the last 40 years. Personally I think full fidelity maps are a trap at this scale, but man do I appreciate the effort, however, that appreciation can be had with a healthy dose of criticism. It’s the only way this game ever really improves. Some of you enjoy the map as is with the promise of improvement in the future. That’s great, you do you and enjoy. Your enjoyment of this map shouldn’t be impacted by any dissent. In the end ED released a paid product that’s in EA, and as such we’re all paying beta testers, so criticize away at the product you received now and don’t hold back just because you’re promised something in the future. My family back in England would always tell me that tomorrow never comes. Check six and all that jazz, have fun in whatever sandbox you choose to play in.
  5. This is by far my favorite module of all the ones I currently have and trialed. It's all come together once I went springless with dampers on my stick, use the split throttle as a collective/power lever. Downloaded Helios and used an old 15" touch screen laptop as a glass cockpit using duet app. Fine-tuned all the curves and moved the desk mount clamp to center where it should be (a little high, but acceptable). Yeah, I'm ready to rock now.
  6. George has to give you two indicators before firing: Laser on, the laser off before firing. Scud Busters mission I had it firing like crazy, so much so I had to turn on auto consent because at times it would fire on the same target within 5 seconds of the last. If that mission weren't so long, I would've saved and posted the track because there was time where the A.I. would just laze and that's it, I wouldn't get the second indicator. I think in my instance I was flying to evade BMP fire from units stuck in trees (annoying!) so that could play into it. I know it happens; I just can't replicate to near 100% like others have.
  7. Yeah, my response is more in line with above. Despite me asking on a non-warranty claim, they are now trying to troubleshoot why I could possibly want to buy the dampers alone when I just received a set with the kit last week. So, I explained that I want it so that I could have dampers on all four sides instead of two. We'll see if it twigs.
  8. Fixed nothing to see here! With a big self-own LOL The f10 map function wasn't working earlier but post patch it does.
  9. The A10II always starts with two Left MFCD buttons (13 and 14) stuck in the free flight instant mission for me and only in that mission.
  10. Yup no problems here 2/3 of my setup in Winwing with Virpil pulling duty as the throttle. couldn't be happier. Since I'm mainly apache the split throttle is great. the left axis is the power lever and the right being collective.
  11. cheaper to just buy the damping and cams kit, then offload whatever cams you don't need. I contacted them about the Dampers only, I'm interested in what the reply with.
  12. Their shipping is sloooooooow. I had ordered the spring damper cam kit from them as soon as they became available in the US and it took a total 10 days from an address that was 1.5 hrs away in NJ where that one is located. It’s super annoying when your order languishes in the packing stage for 7 days. As far as their customer service goes, I guess it’s alright. I received their pedals that was missing the damper front stand-off piece, and they shipped it to me from china. After I provided them information. It’s just the shipping. I wish they’d let me pickup locally. It would also save them on shipping.
  13. Would be great if they only sold dampers as well.
  14. Been eyeing that. Is it mostly a medium to high altitude map? Or is it visually appealing down low? Too bad that there's no trial on that yet. Nothing better to help cool you off than some impressive looking winter terrain.
  15. Yeah, I noticed a lot of that I have an album with places like these. I also did a waterway tour ever since I posted that lampoon on that other thread with the crazy rant. I've never been over there so I can't speak to the accuracy of any of them (waterways) however, there seems to be an overabundance of dried-up riverbeds/tributaries that have bridges that span across an obvious crossing of some kind. Whether it be a river that's supposed to be there, or valley that exists from when viewed from on high but only exists as a flat texture map on ground level (there's a lot of that going on) I know that the high desert can have complexity to them, years of deploying to NTC taught me that, Is the map populated via A.I? Just weird. I'm kinda in the "whatever" phase of all of this, as I play that other sim that's been going strong for 26 years now, and that has UGLY ground textures. Great for 1998 when nearly everything was just flat shaded polygons. What gets me is the bow shock wave of grass/shrubs that generate in front of you, and it's in all the maps, but just sticks out more to me here because to the topography. I wish you could shut it off. I even set my preload radius to the max setting and no dice. It's either that or they're secretly Tribbles or some alien species of Prairie dogs.
  16. I tried searching, so forgive me if I missed an already existing thread (if it's out there) but can something be done with the way grass just pops up in clusters and then fully populates when low enough? It's pretty jarring, especially in Afghanistan where the scenery is sandy most of the time and you see this bow shock wave of grass clumps forming a few feet in front of your helicopter. I have my settings to full as well as pre-load radius to full now, and still, it's there. Is this a performance bug/feature and can I shut it off?

  17. Here I think there's just a missing river full stop, otherwise why put a bridge there? I'll try to find the coordinates again
  18. If you forgive some of the erratic flying, trying to juggle toddler and my dinner There were some instances where George wouldn't fire, but I chalk that up to me not holding steady in some instances and the other I would hold the consent to fire a bit too long, upon release it would fire off the hellfire. It's a long track as I even went back to rearm and try another round of 16 both far and close and just flying like a fool. That round it wouldn't always fire when consented, but again I was flying around like a clown during the majority of the time as I was still trying to eat. agmL.trk
  19. I'll give it a shot on the Caucus training range right now
  20. Considering that there’s about three threads extolling the beauty of this map it was exactly that, petty. But, they got a business to run so I get it I guess.
  21. Just tested and so far, so good as there are no problems on the new drivers for me. Edit: I only run the multithreaded app not the normal one.
  22. I'm affected by this and see that there's been nothing but crickets since first report. ED what up mates? Lost internet connection after a big storm, and while yeah, I can still stay logged in with my phone as a hotspot, I really don't want to.
  23. Yeah, aside from that one mission and that one particular time, I can’t reproduce it . I tried and I tried. Fcr on or off the ai fired this time, rather consistent I might add, if not inaccurately. What I can understand is why I can’t fire the radar hellfires from the back seat. The minute I engage the FCR the missiles become inactive. Change the view mode to TADS or what have you and poof right back to being active. And no, George isn’t activated at all when this happens. I guess I’ll let it have all the fun in firing and I’ll focus on the Butt-lites after I pass every obstacle
  24. THANK YOU for offering a clarification on what's considered complete.
  25. What’s annoying is that the standard response has been “we appreciate you looking over there (low quality areas) but look at the nice areas we did do.” Yeah I get it, but why don’t you (BN) address the contradictory nature of your post saying that it’s feature complete but yet it’s in early access and thus we’re working on it. The two statements just don’t jive man. And then labeling the thread as opinion. It got a little chuckle from me. I mean any thread claiming how great, or bad, the graphics look is an opinion. Don’t think there was a need to draw attention to that, but hey, it’s not my message board. I’ll just stick to the “nice” areas of the map, flying low and slow as the Apache’s rotors literally wash the low res textures off the buildings in front of me as I fly by. Or take a jet and stay above 10k and agree with the other “non-opinion” thread and remark, yeah, this does look nice (and it does!) I mean you got my money anyway And off topic here but @markturner1960 how are you getting on with the other “visually helo friendly” maps?
