Oh this is great news! One of my favs growing up. Will there be an upgrade path for this who have the FC-15c. Figured I would ask even if the answer is no.

I’m not near my computer but isn’t it just changing the background which is on the right page?

You got me there on the reprojection. Not a clue on what that is lol. I’m using openxr tk CAS on with FFR I don’t see any motion reprojection anywhere in the settings here. It’s sharp and I’m happy with my visuals. I followed the “Pimax best DCS vr settings and optimization” guide and then tinkered to around until I got what I wanted.

Can't help you on the intel front but with a 4080s I have to run the resolution down to .78 (just above the medium resolution setting) and lock my frames at 72fps and generally the FPS will stay at 70-72fps. There's an option in pimax play to run it at 120 and then lock it to half the frame rate to get you to 60hz/60fps.

What prescription lenses are people using? Near or Far?
Blackhawk163 replied to Tricky11's topic in Pimax
Far. I got mine from Honsvr they along with a majority of vr lens makers offer varying discounts. -
I had this issue as well, however after much usage it resolved itself. Now with the bare minimum of friction needed to hold it in place, both axis don't fall over (The right one being the heaviest and obviously requiring more friction) and don't feel like an arm workout either.

I do this every once and a while. Super easy to do as it's a total of 8 Allen Screws. Four for the base and two smaller ones for the cams. I have my dampers set to what I need for Helo ops, which also work great when the cams are in. Do get the recommended Damping grease.

Pimax play is just a launcher for me at this point. Other than that my unit works great. What software issues are there for the PCL?

Thanfully I haven't had any hardware issues with the actual HMDU, it's been flawless, what I do have a problem is with the HMDU strap as it has started to fray in the middle. Causing these brail-like dots to form (which are quite hard) My current solution is to invert the strap obviously not ideal because I can't easily adjust the strap that way. I put in a warranty request with them (bought the PCL in Sept of last year) and now I eagerly await the passive aggressive response that I got last year when inquiring about getting my ED points that a CSR told me they would put in my account, then never did.

Hunting for the stutter-free VR experience.
Blackhawk163 replied to Panzerlang's topic in Virtual Reality
And after being resigned to what I thought was a return to stutter, it’s now gone. I did mess about with some openxr settings. I had NIS upscale on, but then turned it off in favor of CAS, turned off turbo, Hags and enabled them subsequently disabled NIS in DCS and not in openxr (ghosting was really bad on aircraft) then dlss, but then disabled all that. Re-enabled HAGS (gained back 20% performance) at this point I was just looking for the best performance to visual settings as I had given up on trying to get back to stutter free. Then I ran a free flight, and as I was looking over the side for some BDA on some practice targets when I noticed the lack of stuttering. I continued on at various alts, and yup, gone. I’m still running the combination of FFR and Quadviews. So freaking weird. -
Where is this news that Pimax is going or about to go under coming from? This is the first time I’m reading about this. I’m personally not a fan of their “flooding the zone” tactics, and would much prefer that they focus and perfect their established products and customer service which flat out lies.

What are your Pimax play settings and OpenxrTK settings? Is DLSS on? Any upscale, quad views etc? I also use 1.5 cheaters and have an astigmatism for which I use the prescription lens on my PCL, perfectly sharp.

fixed high AoA roll when going less than 300kias
Blackhawk163 replied to 777coletrain's topic in Bugs and Problems
THANK YOU! I was going nuts thinking what the heck is going on, don't know if this is a product of some crosswinds in the KOLA campaign, but some of my T/O and landings have been a bit spicy at times. -
Hunting for the stutter-free VR experience.
Blackhawk163 replied to Panzerlang's topic in Virtual Reality
Grrr, updated to the new pimax play, and my smooth gameplay was nuked. Hello stutter my old friend . . . -
That would be 4 because of the Sec problem followed by Lead. I was surprised lead landed to be honest, as don’t the A.I. usually fly off into outer space? lol. In any case I thought it was kinda funny seeing the guard face down, and then thinking oh no will the mission bug out and fail me.

I mean if you're looking to safe on some costs there's these or even this one. I'm sure they might be cheaper in price but likewise in quality. Those are but a few I found (and I'm sure you found them too) but I'm sure they'll work just fine. That answers your last question. Unfortunately, the friction part will have you having to deal with it until broken in. I have mine set so that the friction is just enough to hold the throttles in place, obviously the left needing less than the right. I do not lock my throttles, so I never worry about them falling as a result of their combined weight.
-
Now I'm not trying to blame anyone specific, but someone ran over the guard at the de-arming station and when I pressed the ordinance guys on the side of the taxiway, they were kinda shifty about the whole affair, claimed that the snow obscured their vision. Did this happen for anyone else?

Mission timings and darkness
Blackhawk163 replied to Reflected's topic in DCS: P-51D Debden Eagles Campaign
Ah yes woke. That magical catch all word that when truly pressed can't be clearly defined. You said it a lot nicer than I was going to. Anyway, I'm going to send ED my complaint about the lighting issue, but I seriously doubt it will get much traction. If one of their top campaign contributors can't move the needle after a year, I doubt I will be able. But you got to try So how about it @BIGNEWY any news on this? -
Mission 7 - what a ride! FCR - blind, TGP blind.
Blackhawk163 replied to Jack Chief's topic in F-16C Arctic Thunder Campaign
Oh, I found the Column just fine, as another method I used was just to fly heading 336. I'm just saying that if I followed the prompts as given to me, I turn 330 when told, then I slew within the FCR or HSD for 336/57 and mark the location it will steer you to the area just south of Murmansk. I'm also not fully up to speed on the F16 having mostly used the a10 so I'm learning as I go with this my first f16 campaign, So I know I'm doing something wrong. But this mission was perfect for me, and I actually had a laugh at the end. First, I started it late last night, I was already a bit tired but figured this wouldn't take too long, then all that happens, So I option the bad radio route, refueling goes horribly (I'm like dead tired at that point) but I get it done. Coming home that thing happens, and I'm like, I'm so done. Bravo? Sure, why not? I have such a hard landing that I briefly black out, I get so mad at myself and am about to rage quit (I don't play with that invulnerability function enabled), when I see I'm about to go off-road so I fight to bring it back to center and come to a stop. Mission should be called Murph lol -

Blackhawk163 replied to Jack Chief's topic in F-16C Arctic Thunder Campaign
Wait, is this Emily? Because for the life of me I tried using the reference on the FCR as 336/57 and put me way off from where I needed to actually be which was (I'm spit balling here) more like 330/110 or something like that. There is a way to do this via the FCR, I just don't remember how -
Are large monitors still relevant?
Blackhawk163 replied to MJY65's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I started DCS on a 55-inch display which was great, then I got a track IR and thought this is wonderful. Later decided on VR and got the crystal light, blown away. First week of VR and I'll admit, I had a bit of motion sickness to start. Your brain works a bit overtime processing this. That whole sat at a traffic light but the bloke besides you starts moving and all of a sudden you feel that motion too, so you slam the brakes even though you're already on them. Yeah, that's how it felt for me. Quickly got over that. Now I have a 55-inch display that just gets turned on to login (I use the virtual desktop experience in pimax play) when playing the various sims, and the track IR needs to be sold. Don't get me wrong, having a 55-inch display is great, but its relevance really does depend on its primary use case and ultimately, you. -
I used to have it as my master arm. Master arm off in the down position and on in the fully up. But this is mainly used for the F14 and F4. All other modules I just use a switch on a throttle. I have big hands and would accidentally trigger/arm it. Not that it matters, as it’s a game so use it or don’t. Maybe as a refueling door switch?
