  1. For those that start DCS off axis, why not just map the vr center to a button? I have mine on set to tab. Solves that issue without having to take the hmd off.
  2. For the DCS settings why not drop the resolution to the lowest since that’s only for the monitor, unless you’re recording then never mind.
  3. Update on the 4080 users front. I'm still using the settings in DCS as outlined in my previous post but have made some adjustments on the Pimax play settings. First I'll preface this by saying that 60fps is plenty smooth for me, and it may not be the case for others, I just wanted to keep as much visual fidelity as I can. I've bumped up the Render quality from .8 back to 1 enabled Pimax openxr quad and pimax central priority rendering (the verbiage has changed since the new update) preference is still quality Smart smooth on lock half on hidden area mask on Vive compat on DLSS Tweaks setting F I took the a10IIc instant mission free flight at the caucuses, which is filled with heavy cloud cover, and have a locked 60fps Free flight in the Persian gulf map @ 200 AGL a10II/f18 16 and 15 and 14 all through the city centers locked 60 Sinai Israel free flight f14a mission worse offender as dips went into 35fps at times. free flight on f15 dips into the mid to low 50`s both are at 280 agl on the free flight mission as well. The 18 on the map dips to 58 fps but, rarely on its specific area in the free flight mission (I chose the first CAP flight in the menu) and again flying at about 300 agl This is all with about 15 minutes of testing as I'm quite busy today, and with the exception of the a10, and other than landings/mission specific parameters, I don't think most will be flying that low to begin with. I'm sure lowering the resolution to about .85-88 might help stabilize some of the problem areas while still appearing very sharp. something to test later.

  5. I was going to create a thread pretty much saying the same thing Puffin. @baltic_dragon, I absolutely love the way this was setup and presented. So much so that I am disappointed that there aren't any other campaigns that cover all the other aircraft like this one does for the A10II. Are we ever getting a part II?
  6. I’m on the 4080 super. I can tell you what I use off the top of my head with regards to DCS and Pimax play. My hardware is in the signature below, so I won’t type that out. in Pimax play I have rendering set to .8 120hz refresh, no FFR/quadviews enabled, smart smoothing is enabled. for DCS I followed https://www.gamersbynight.com/dcs-settings-vr/ But kept the distance to ultra and clouds too I believe. The forest I used Tally mouse’s settings. Tinker with it, maybe there’s something’s you can/cannot live without . I chose as much of a balance of performance and quality as I could. I’m thinking about tinkering with the dlss settings to see if that still work and what if any benefits it has. good luck and clear stutter free skies
  7. Danger, the cable is replaceable. I've pulled it out of the headset many times when I was having problems with pimax play and the Nvidia drivers. It was easier to unplug at the headset vs going to the back of my pc. Edit: buying an extra is a pretty good idea, I might just do that!
  8. I thought it was pretty straight forward on both the Pimax play app and experience home. I will say that they should change the name of "my assets" to "my programs."

  12. Can we get a more diverse set of pilot models? Two of my left seaters were women when I served. My daughter often comes home and hops on the ah64 modules in between her vacations and when her temporary duty station brings her close here, and she pointed it out to me several times. I’m sure she’s not the only one. Also one of my buddies who I loved to fly with ( goes out to you WO3 Wolfe ) is black and he often chides me on it. So, what’s up ED, when can we have that?
  13. Yeah, I agree. The first time I played the mission I did it as if I were playing lead because I didn't listen or read the brief and assumed I was still lead. The second I heard that there were targets near a village I headed that way and blasted them with rockets. I got up to the smoke marking section, but was Winchester before I could complete. I headed back the FARP where nothing happened there. Frustrating. Guess I'll have to skip yet another mission then.
  14. Mission 8 still broken for me. 1st set of targets by the village gets wiped out by U1 then we proceed to orbit until I get tired of formation flying. nothing else triggers. The only time I've ever triggered anything past the first set is when I rambo'd my way into the village.

  17. I have tried it 4 different times with four different mission breaking results with the last mission I actually kept as a trk file. First go 'round I made it up to where the positions are marked by smoke. Ugly 5-1 did mostly nothing, I ran out of ammo, went back to FARP to see if there's a way to rearm and refuel, no dice. Second go, init contact after incident, 5-1 goes in, I follow, targets neutralized, nothing follows. 3rd same situation as two however Ugly 5-1 goes back to FARP after contact is neutral, progression halts. Last one 5 flight relieves Boss flight. A10 out 30seconds, nothing follows as I practice formation flying for about 15 minutes, hard with a toddler on your lap. Was tempted to bugger off to an American Base for some Macdonald's, prefer a shawarma, but it is what it is. Fourth flight had one parameter change, and that was the loadouts. I switched to all rockets in the mission planner. I wonder if that's what broke the campaign 8BROKEN.trk

  19. Ha! That’s one I haven’t heard in a while! I’m more Foghorn than Dim. They actually shot at me first as I went out to scout the area, I don’t know if that’s a bug or not. Again, love the chatter. When we flew it was a bit more spicier at times, but we had three crewed, and we mostly chatted about the cute KBR girls that we would take on our flights. Of course that’s peacetime and not anytime out over there. Anyway, can’t wait to hear what comes next on episode 8. cheers!
  20. Cheers mate, popped all three, got the little bit about guardian angels, or something like that and then silence. No report back to Magic available. Flew around a bit to see if there was anything else, but couldn’t spot anything. So I’m officially lost on this one edit: you clever clogs, gotcha! lol what threw me off is a bit of a bug in the game. I was able to destroy a mortar team before I was supposed to even engage them. It twigged when Foggy denied having done anything. I was like you wot mate?
  21. Loving the chit chat going on between crews, making me a bit homesick really. I have to ask, where the heck are the mortar crews in the hills? I got the East and West (clever hiding alongside the building), but that north crew? Sneaky SOB's or is there are trigger that I miss when trying to find them? Anyway, cheers mate loving it so far, even if I had to skip one mission because it was bugged and wouldn't complete.
  22. Folks, when you’re posting pictures of terrain that is taken from 10k+ feet know that you’re proving the very same point us rotor heads are making about this map. The detail up high has, for the most part, looked great, and yeah Afghanistan looks gorgeous in some spots when up high. But it’s an illusion that’s broken up once you’re down low. from the very description on the product marketing page that despite acknowledgments to the contrary, remain: Key Features at Early Access Release The entirety of Afghanistan with the southwestern portion available in high detail at Early Access release. High resolution terrain mesh, textures and objects provide a realistic map from low to high altitude. Numerous, authentically modelled airbases like Kandahar and Herat. Diverse terrain ranging from towering mountains to vast deserts. Recreate battles spanning the last 40 years. Personally I think full fidelity maps are a trap at this scale, but man do I appreciate the effort, however, that appreciation can be had with a healthy dose of criticism. It’s the only way this game ever really improves. Some of you enjoy the map as is with the promise of improvement in the future. That’s great, you do you and enjoy. Your enjoyment of this map shouldn’t be impacted by any dissent. In the end ED released a paid product that’s in EA, and as such we’re all paying beta testers, so criticize away at the product you received now and don’t hold back just because you’re promised something in the future. My family back in England would always tell me that tomorrow never comes. Check six and all that jazz, have fun in whatever sandbox you choose to play in.
  23. This is by far my favorite module of all the ones I currently have and trialed. It's all come together once I went springless with dampers on my stick, use the split throttle as a collective/power lever. Downloaded Helios and used an old 15" touch screen laptop as a glass cockpit using duet app. Fine-tuned all the curves and moved the desk mount clamp to center where it should be (a little high, but acceptable). Yeah, I'm ready to rock now.
