With all maps and most of DCS aircrafts installed my DCS installation requires approx. 1.45TB SSD space, Saved Games included. A 2TB SSD will be ok I guess, but as I have other games too I decided for a 8TB SSD. Unfortunately I do not have access to any faster web connection than 50MBit/s. DCS updates often requires a few hours. The last DCS update was 110GB for me.

I'm a bit old fashioned. I just rent things which are not affordable to buy for me but I absolutely need. All other things: buy it or live without it.

Already done with my dual throttle (VKB STECS). However even with both throttles idle it keeps dragging to the right like hell. I barely managed it to taxi to the runway with differential braking and differential throttles. Next task will be to take off without crashing to the right. Compared to the Bronco F4U-1D, Bf 109, Fw190, P47 ect. are easy to start for me. May be I'm missing out something important here, but I do not see what it might be.

Since there are many knowledgeable users here, I am currently considering whether there might be a way to support the ED team in some way. Perhaps some of the preparation, implementation, or testing work could be taken on by the DCS forum?

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
TheBiggerBass replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
I suppose demonstrating this was exactly the intention -
Well, unfortunately my russian is non-existent. Grown up in former West Germany it wasn't the preferred foreign language. However although used to the metric system the civilized world uses , I use this strange imperial units when flying. As almost all dimensions, metrics, tables, formulas are given in feet, knots, pounds, psi ect. I was just tired of always calculating this back and forth.

Cockpit Camera Movement (limits)
TheBiggerBass replied to TheBiggerBass's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
Ok, great, thanks. Although I have almost all moduls my server.lua is much smaller than yours and just contains entries for only tree aircrafts. I understand server.lua in DCS World/config/view must not be changed to maintain IC. Instead a copy of server.lua should be stored in Saved Games/DCS/config/view, correct? P.S.: I also found a Views.lua entry in DCS World/mods/aircraft/<aircraft name> of each aircraft where limits_6DOF seem to be set per aircraft. I wonder which of all those definitions is finally used by DCS? -
Cockpit Camera Movement (limits)
TheBiggerBass replied to TheBiggerBass's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
Thanks. I guess it's the following line within function default_fighter_player(t), correct? limits_6DOF = {x = {-0.050000,0.4500000},y ={-0.300000,0.100000},z = {-0.220000,0.220000},roll = 90.000000}, No. I am looking for the camera position limits when moving the camera, not just the snapview limits. -
As F-16C is my favourite mod to fly and I don't want to jeopardize any F-16C functionality I am hesitating to install F-16i Sufa due to modifiying large parts of F-16C core are required.

I would like to extend the cockpit camera movement (x/y/z position) limits a little bit to allow saving better snap view position presets. I know it has been mentioned in DCS forum before but cannot find it anymore. Afaik the x/y/z camera postion limits were set in a .lua file but I don't recall where anymore. May be someone can help push my nose on it. Thanks.

Weather mod v2.0 for DCS

That's a shame. Random weather condition for every mission start would be a real nice feature to increase immersion.- 404 replies

Unfortunately I have no additional twin axis lever just to control the brakes. Both throttle axis' are bound to the engines. Therefore I use a 5-pos dome knob to control the brakes. This allows to setup left and right brake to a 5-pos dome knob: left brake = left switch, right brake = right switch, both brakes = center switch and to use the dome switch as a simple steering. That's how I set the brakes up for all WW II piston aircrafts and for the Bronco too. But for a controlled stop there is also a binding required to control both brakes simultaneously. Why is that additional binding missing - both brakes, either as an axis or as a switch - for the Bronco? That's the way as it's implemented in all WW II piston aircrafts which uses differential braking: one binding for left brake, another for right brake and a third binding for both brakes. btw: I already use thethree switch bindings for left, right and both brakes but they don't seem to work as intended. The aircraft is turning right, no matter if brake is active or not.
