  6. 104th Radar Operators working deep underground in a secret location detected several Chinese J-11As arriving over night in to the Caucasus region to join as part of Operation Longbow. As of this time it is not clear what the next move is for the Chinese aircraft, however confirmed sightings have been made at Krasonodar Pashkovsky Airbase of the J-11A's performing what looked to be Quick Reaction Alert exercises. The arrival of the J-11As from China coincide with the latest NATO gunship to arrive in the region the SA342 Minigun Helicopter. NATO commanders hope these aircraft will help to slow any future enemy movements, although the fight will be tough going with Russia receiving some serious backup from its Chinese ally. No its a legit issue that we are looking in to now, it started happening a few months ago on a small scale that affected a lot of aircraft but now its becoming much more of a problem, especially for the F-15. My best guess at this stage is its an issue with the net code syncing a players real time position with where the missile thinks the client is. Very often if you look behind you when a missile detonates you see it explode behind the aircraft as if it is hitting a 'ghost' model of where your aircraft was a split second before. We'll set up some internal tests to try and get it nailed down asap.
  9. We've added in the North of the map to the mission so it is no longer a battle between Sochi and Kutaisi. Fairness is no longer a priority in our server. How about trying to carry some Aim7s then along with some Fox2s with your Aim120s, instead of being the stereotypical spamraaming Eagle driver ;) You might find more of a challenge there! If all I did was spam 8 AMRAAMS then RTB I would get pretty bored too. We have some very talented SU27 drivers on Red, I would not say flying against them is not a challenge. See our disclaimer on post number 2, no one from our squadron is claiming that is a fair or balanced mission. We are planning to bring back some of the old missions in the future so all hope is not lost for you, but things like 'fairness' and 'balance' are no longer high on our priority list. We wanted to create a more realistic mission set for the platforms that we have available in the game and Longbow is the result. People complained at us for years about the lack of 'realism' in the server, now that we have taken steps towards something less 'airquakey' we are now getting complaints about flight times to the AO and 'balance'. So what ever we do there is always going to be people that are not happy, we clearly can't please everyone and have given up trying to do so. But like I said mon ami, we do plan to bring back some of the older missions for variety, I am just in no hurry to do all the editing myself to bring these missions up to the 2.5 standard the 1.5 missions can't just be saved in 2.5 then ran, some editing work needs to happen (if I never see the mission editor again for the rest of my life I'll die a happy man :D). I have left this task open to other 104th staff, once they get it done, we will run them back on for you.
  10. I changed the mission start time and month to maximise the mission time during the daylight hours. We’ll take a look at doing mission restarts after approx 16 hours to avoid the night times until ED fix the issues with flying at night time.
  11. Sadly I cannot force people to get on SRS or TS3 despite my best efforts. I am constantly spamming messages in TS for people to join SRS and when Im in the server I do the same thing in global chat. I share your pain :(

  14. Updates: -Changed the Russian AWACS to a USAF Aggressor A-50 Aircraft to provide English Comms instead of Russian for Red Side (Playability reasons) -Changed all Red EWR sites from Russian to USAF Aggressors for the same reasons as AWACS above.
  15. No, sadly LotATC is not working properly in SATAL with 6 vs 6 so I don't think it will be able to perform in the server with 50+ people in it in its current state. The long term plan is for us to use LotATC, but until it works without any issues we won't be using it.
  16. Tomcat will be multirole btw.... We are getting the Lantirn pod with it. It also won't be 'simpler' to learn either, its a full fidelity module that accurately reproduces the F-14s systems in DCS. It will be as 'simple' as learning to operate the real Tomcat ;)

  19. Bersagliere81 - AMRAAMS are part of the F-15s arsenal and will no longer be limited, I'm afraid its something you will just have to get used to. They are only available at 3 airbases on the entire map, not every blue airbase has them. Plaiskool - we have no immediate plans to have all aircraft on each side. Coxy - They were being abused and were spammed everywhere making it almost unplayable for the Red side. And as this is a game and not a real war it was having a negative impact on not only player numbers but the playability of the mission. The MANPADS will be back once I work out a system to limit them.
  20. Just rolled out a massive update for Longbow. Post #2 updated - HERE More briefing info will follow over the weekend including updated maps etc. Bug Fixes -On Senaki, two Gazelles are called Senki SA342M but are L Versions - Fixed Updates -Added additional Red Tanker orbiting over the Kuznetsov patrol area -Added Beslan, Mozdok, Nalchik and Min Vody to the list of capturable bases. -Added four new FARPS in the Bullseye North area. -Added the AIM120C to Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Mozdok. -Removed MANPADS from the deployable menu until I come up with another system to limit the spamming of these units.
  21. A method that works for a lot of people is loading the mission in Single Player first. Ask the server admin for a copy of the mission, then open the mission up in the Mission Editor from the DCS main menu. Launch the mission and wait for it to load up (may a few mins), then exit back to the main menu without quitting DCS and join the server from the Multiplayer Lobby. Good luck!

  23. Thanks for the bug reports guys, keep them coming in! A little Longbow update. I know things have been slow update wise over the past couple of weeks, I am working hard on a major update for the mission that will add an additional 4 airbases to the capture list. We are opening up the North of the map with the introduction of Beslan, Nalchik, Mozdok and Min Vody to the fold! Sadly however we have ran in to a stumbling block and the mission crashes upon loading, I have made the developers aware and they are working on a fix after running the mission through the debug version of DCS. This could take some time to work out so in the mean time I ask for your patience, I will do what I can over the next couple of days to get a mini update out, possible with the HAWK sites removed to work around the invisible units issue. Hopefully within a week or two we can launch the updated version with the new airbases! A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS TAKEN PART IN LONGBOW! And to the superstars who recently donated to the Squadron... a huge thanks to you guys!
