In the new FC 2024 trailer @1:18, @1:24 and possibly two more one second shots, is this the new map or perhaps Kola?

I wonder what is the limitation of DCS currently in terms of polygons count in a DCS terrain, which directly influences the possible size of the terrain. Then, having in mind constant developments, like the new APi, perhaps the TDK can be expanded so that making a map much larger than we expect it to be. It was mentioned that Afghanistan is the most ambitious project to date, it we know Iraq is also coming, so maybe the Germany map will beat even those and will be released with DCS 3.0, sometime in 2026?

Long time ago Kate said maps will coexist and continue to be created separate to the spherical earth but who knows. We know the maps right now are not transferable to the Earth project ... but we also know everything is subject to change

Plot twist - DCS: World Spherical Earth project was revealed not a Germany map...

All maps in DCS are meant to believable represent given area of operations, however use many shortcuts and approximations. Even that NATO symbol does not look 100% real in the Chinook video. Then again maps are built with the data available, so maybe there is a compromise of actual years aimed for.

The new Abrams is meant for Afghanistan I think, together with MRAP truck.

Current focus is on Afghan map and will be for few months I think. Iraq will be pushed towards Feb 2025 but that's just my opinion based on the history of DCS.

Hey folks, Was there any update I missed perhaps as to why ED is putting the effort into animations such as CP/G unboarding teased in July 2022? What is the goal? Yes I want to see the answer that we are getting the new feature in DCS - preflight walk-arounds

I remember when beta version stopped working after an update coz ED wanted to keep the date and did not take time to test. We communicated with our pitchforks and ED improved. It is unfortunate that the new bugs were discovered, but I preferer less bugs and wait that the other way around. Besides it's just a game, that offers so much currently, updates are welcomed but quality is even more so.

Yes mate, I am with you on this, poor wording in the communication is not their first one either, that why official communication cannot be taken exactly word by word. For example, by definition, this forum (web site) is also a social media, it's just we grew to understand social media as apps on smartphones. Discord can be a waste of time, I agree, but also gets you direct answers, many times Bignewy and NineLine responded to my direct questions honestly and to the point. That is not true, most likely you have missed it as it is the same post comment that is being edited, but all 'changes' to the update release timeframe were on Discord chat and a minute later in the forum post. It's even visible if one was to scroll back Discord as community posted screenshots from the forum post.

Miles from third party modules are at the discretion of a third party. I think I did get miles from Tomcat purchase, but yes you are able to use miles on the purchase and essentially get something 'for free', like I got Su-33 long before I got it again with super carrier

Imagine we'll get both in the same update, Chinook and Afghanistan. That would be something! So looking forward to Afghan!
