Yeah I get that. I understand your points completely, ED long said they can do only that much in terms of accuracy and if the satellite imaginery is showing urban area it will use the urban tiles in the map. Let's hope we can influence it a bit in the future

A bit of a history from: Philippe Colin In May 2003, seven German Air Force MIG-29 "FULCRUM" fighters flew to North America for their last major deployment. This trip was their fifth and last ever as the aircraft will be transferred to Poland later this year. Code-named "Sniper", the exercise comprised seven russian-designed MIG-29 and pilots from 731 squadron, the only unit in the German Air Force flying the type. The squadron is part of JG-73 "Steinhoff", based at Laage Air Base, near Rostock on the Baltic Coast. Fulcrum Farewell USA 2003 | Flickr

The first Fulcrum's livery in that screenshot is the Fulcrum farewell tour 2003 though...

I really hope @OnReTech can work with the author of this spectacular attention to detail and hard work.

Quite the opposite. We were just too good to pick up on the leaks they have posted and now those were removed as to not reveal the map before revealing it. We know what we saw, it's just a matter of time.

Registan/Sistan desert way too much grass
Gierasimov replied to WirtsLegs's topic in Bugs and Problems
Maybe it's not accurate for the desert year that is being simulated -
Yes, yes and yes.

Absolutely would be a blast to see new weapons & effects with Fulcrum!

Questions on DCS DC ground warfare. Will groups and units use tactics while fighting opposing forces or will it stay as is today? For example, recently a shoot and scoot fire at point task options was added, will it become part of the AI skill or forever up to the mission designer? Consider how vehicle column fights now if met by opposing direction enemy column... Will ground units damage model be a thing in DCS DC?

Is the gun loaded with tracer ammo?

@mkel2010 I teste this in Afghanistan (Kandahar) and got the same results. I tested static objects: Carrier Technician, Cow, as well as regular infantry unit and all ended up on the roof of the shelter. If it is a bug or feature I don't know, most likely it works as designed.

Right, then it is not unit related but the scenery object. Make sure to test this in Caucasus terrain, record short track and post as a bug in the relevant forum section. This is not MIssion Editor bug, so likely nobody will look at it. If it is OK in Caucasus, but not at Nellis, then post the bug report with the track on the NTTR section of the forum. However, understand, that if it happens only for the NTTR terrain, most likely it will never be corrected, given that it is a very minor bug and NTTR is long past the mainstream support.

Is it possible to create a very simple (best guess / fake) GPS jamming unit in game?

Most likely its the issue with the pack's object hit box being bigger than actual 3d model

Hi. Some 50km east from Camp Bastion, there is FOB and later MOB Price. Currently it is just a satellite low resolution texture. I tried building the MOB myself with statics but it seems it affects the performance and also the terrain is not even and walls placed look like giant steps from the air. Anyway. Are you going to develop this area to include this main operating base? If not can you please improve elevation mesh and clean up textures, so that we can try building a base there with statics ?

How is there no info on a map coming to DCS in 2024
Gierasimov replied to LimePartician's topic in DCS: Iraq
Ok. I am sure there is going to be news in one of the newsletters soon(ish). Focus is on the Afghanap now. -
River currents are the continuous, directed movements of water generated by different forces. Is there technical obstacle in the TDK that rivers, lakes and ponds are flat and steady? I wish that the WORLD part of DCS product included more authentic water bodies. I am not demanding actual physics of water, as this would be highly unrealistic wish, but animated current, especially in rivers would make the terrain look better. HELMAND PROVINCE, Afghanistan

How is there no info on a map coming to DCS in 2024
Gierasimov replied to LimePartician's topic in DCS: Iraq
Maybe. But it has been the fact in the past of team A and team B mixing resources to push a given project, so.. maybe this or maybe Iraq is using the same "tech" and hance is much quicker to hit the same EA stage as Southwest. -
How is there no info on a map coming to DCS in 2024
Gierasimov replied to LimePartician's topic in DCS: Iraq
Looking at the quality of South-west Afghanistan, I sincerely hope ED focuses on it before splitting the effort between Afghan and Iraq terrains. If Iraq offers the same EA state / quality, then it will offer nothing more than a different name. -
What are the good parts of the map to see as of initial release?
Gierasimov replied to Mnemonic's topic in DCS: Afghanistan
Thanks for this, just shame that this area is heavily unfinished, but yes if it was done in a nice detail like Marianas map it would for sure be my favorite spot in Afghanistan... -
Hind? Is this module still alive? Quick start guide is there, bigger manual in RU also, plus ton of videos.. interesting that the RU manual was not yet translated to EN, or maybe this is a feature and not a bug... however, MI-24 is so simple it hardly needs any instructions to operate after "video training".
