  1. I'm using a set of VR Optician lenses, good quality, comes in a nice box, each lens comes in it's own little bag. No regrets.
  2. It should have the option, i still have the Make HTML in both stable and latest OB:
  3. I'm in the same boat system wise. I use 3 settings, high for offline 2D play (trial and test runs, learning stuff), a below high setting for online 2D play (but on some servers this setting is to high, even when i'm alone on it as a single player) and a medium to low setting for everything VR. It's just the steps back i need to take to get a smooth (as possible) experience. Expect also a lot more shimmering, certainly around clouds. But... even on this lower setting and the extra shimmer, VR is just amazing. Just don't set your expectations to high and you're in for a threat.
  4. The Mongoost T50 is made for mounted setups (with extensions). It comes without baseplate.
  5. If you have the budget, 32MB is not a waste, depending on your resolution and settings, DCS uses easily more then 16GB. GPU is OK, comparable to my 1080ti, looking the hardware reviews, sometimes (depending on the game) it performs a bit better or a bit worse then my 1080ti. If you can run a Quest 2 decently will be up to your expectations, my VR settings are quite a bit lower then my 2D settings to make it run smooth and then that's always at half de refreshrate (40Hz for the Rift-S), full refresh (80Hz) i can not maintain, not even with all low settings. But locked at 40Hz (unlocked is way to stuttery), lower settings even multi-player is quite good. But then your expectations may vary.
  6. That setting should not cause cross-eye problems since it changes world scale (or cockpit scale) and has nothing to do with real IPD as spead-of-heat mentioned already above.
  7. You can also buy through the e-shop on the website. After purchase the bought modules will show up in the module manager for download. Tip: If you think of buying FC3, there is no need to re-buy the individual aircraft individually (A-10A, Mig-29A etc....) For your purchases to show up, DCS needs to be connected to the internet "and" autorised, so you need to be logged in!!
  8. Because SteamVR thinks it's needed for everything VR wise which it is not. Never found a solution to block SteamVR from poppin' up. I was so annoyed by it that i uninstalled Steam totally. I didn't had any Steam provided game anyway but installed it because Steam has almost the monopoly on race games (besides Assetto Corsa which is a subscribtion payed game and Live For Speed) and i wanted to try some VR racing. I ended up with Live For Speed.
  9. There is for quite some people (if not all) a significant performance loss when going from 2.7.6 to anything above. You can always revert back to an older version. You can do through a command line or... One of the neatest tools out there to do this is Skatezilla's Update Utility. It lets you upgrade, downgrade (under Adv Updater Options Tab), create a copy, make an open beta out of a stable version and vice versa and lots of other stuff.
  10. My experience: If FPS isn't exactly on the TrackIR (and with Track IR i mean the Natural Point stuff, not some 3th party DIY stuff that's also sometimes called TrackIR) pull rate of 120Hz or a division of it (60Hz) i "always" experience stutter on fast moving terrain. Over the years i used my TrackIR on various GPU/monitor combinations and the result is "always" the same, stutter when FPS and TrackIR pull rate don't match. The closer the FPS comes to the TrackIR pull rate the less noticable it is, the further it drifts away, the bigger the stutter gets. It's OK and almost not noticable with terrain movement looking straight ahais but when looking sideways it's always there. G-Sync is not a solution to this type of stutter. For the moment i'm running a 144Hz monitor but i set it to 120Hz and then use VSync + FPS cap at 60 (i can't maintain 120 FPS with my setup) to make TrackIR real smooth. It's the "only" solution i found so far that works all the time to prevent TrackIR stuttering.
  11. DCS forum has a dedicated subforum for VR (https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/302-virtual-reality/). Lots of info there.
  12. Found it: it's not possible directly from the WPN page. If i bring up the WPN and the SMS page on a separate display, i can switch types and modes on the SMS page.
  13. Selfmade training mission, 3xAGM-65D on pylon 3, 3xAGM-65H on pylon 7. I can switch between the types as long as one type has not been fired. Once i fire an AGM-65D, i'm unable to switch to an H-type (nor do i get out of VIS mode). However, i have still 3 left. What do i miss/wrong/need to do to switch types?
  14. Benchmark: DDR5 5200 vs DDR4 3600
  15. There are 2 minor drawbacks but easily solved. - The metal TH stick is to heavy for the light springs that are installed in the Virpil base so the stick will lean forward. The base comes with an extra set of heavier springs, if these are installed, the forward lean is minimum, easily corrected with a recalibration and as good as unnoticable. If you find these still not heavy enough, there is an extra heavy spring set available but that's an extra order. Personally i'm fine with the standard heavy springs that come with the base. - The base plate is a bit to light for heavy use since the heavy WH stick is on top and can flip when lots of force is used. Not a problem for regular flying but heavy dogfighting or acrobatics can lift/flip the Virpil base. To cure this, i used the base plate of the WH and drilled 4 new holes in it for the Virpil base to attach. The Virpil base will cover the old ones so it all stays nice and clean.
  16. I'm not of any help here regarding your problem but if you need to cash out for a replacement, compare that to what you have to pay for a Virpil WarBRD base and if it is within your budget, don't hesitate and buy one. You'll be in for a very nice threat and if you're using Target software, you can reprogram the Virpil base so that Target still sees it as a Thrustmaster one.
  17. and i'll second that...
  18. This time measured with FRAPS (couldn't get the FPS Min,Max, etc not to show on MSI Afterburner for some reason): On my settings: Stable 2.7.6: Frames: 5917 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 98.617 - Min: 87 - Max: 108 OB 2.7.8: Frames: 5154 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 85.900 - Min: 74 - Max: 93
  19. Same here, running with impalor's settings copied over into my options.lua (i normally run a 2560x1440 screen) i still have the same performance difference between Stable 2.7.6 and OB 2.7.8. So with his settings on my monitor i now ran the test in sort of a small window. At first there was no difference but the FPS didn't fluctuated anymore, not even a little bit, 119FPS for both. Then it occurred to me that G-Sync played a roll and with the monitor refresh set to 120 Hz it was spot on that G-Sync played a limiting role, limiting the FPS in DCS to 119. Next step was to disable G-Sync and put the monitors refresh rate back to default which is 144 Hz (i set this to 120Hz because of TrackIR). When this was done, FPS could go unlimlited (above the clouds in Stable it hit 200 briefly). Result (don't look at the CPU 1-4 values, they jump up and down all the time): Stable 2.7.6 Open Beta 2.7.8
  20. Just ran impalor's test track, played the Pause game. Results for me are the same as before, quite a drop in OB performance, both run from the same SSD. Shots +/- taken at the same moment, when the F-18 dives under the clouds and levels out on the coast line. But the difference is there throughout the entire track. Pancake mode. Stable 2.7.6 Open Beta 2.7.8 One thing: when running someone else's track, does it run with my settings or with the creators settings? If it runs with my settings, i would like to retest with impalor's settings but i can't find these (the google drive link doesn't show these or do i miss something?).
  21. Is there a way to get TrackIR back to work after a re-scan of input devices? Otherwise a re-scan is useless if you need TrackIR working.
  22. No it's not, it doesn't really matter where it's located. There should be no difference when located on HD or SSD (or NVMe for that matter). It will only load faster from SSD and that count also from stuff thats need to be sideloaded when a mission is already running (which is only minor). It should not have influence on overall FPS. There is also no need to run a very complex mission to see difference in FPS delivery, just fly around alone is more then enough (in that case there is no sideload at all...).
  23. Full screen behavior changed since the 2.7 release: I'm still looking for a decent way to see if DCS is running Full Screen or Windows Borderless Mode. I can only tell the difference if i click anywhere on my second monitor and DCS minimizes. If i press Alt-Enter, the screen flickers briefly but i can't really tell if i'm on Full Screen or Borderless.
