Eighty-Nine Year Old Chuck Yeager • F-15 Eagle Honor Flight
ViFF replied to das Rindvieh's topic in Military and Aviation
You made me look up the word "ornery" -
My understanding of your statement is that if the HOST is sitting in the back seat and is currently the one in control, when he moves his stick then if the CLIENT (sitting in the front seat) has an FFB stick he will feel the force to the direction of the stick movement? i.e. the implementation is like the changing of the centering when you adjust the trim with a FFB stick? S!

is it possible to have 3rd party to make map modules instead of airplane modules?

The MiG-21bis would be a bit OP from an E-M perspective since its the last and most powerful in-service Fishbed version produced, but I really like that idea! no radar guided missiles for the MiG-21 and the heat seeeking missiles would be restricted to Rear Aspect only: AIM-9P for Blue side R-60A and R-13M for Red side Vietnam era SAMs are the SA-3 and the SA-9 (we don't have SA-2 in DCS) S!
-
Change of concept!!!???? I am afraid of change :geek: Great round! and very good team work by the Reds. 80's weapon set is a very good concept, leads to some very intense fighting and promotes ACM tactics and winging tactics. Thanks Greg, Xcom, Crash, Ciribob! S!

This was tried in the testing of previous rounds. The lag was just too much.
-
Which AIM-9P do we have in DCS? is it the 3 or 4?
-
Hank (HAE5904) confirmed it will be the version with the Atar-9B engine, without any of the modifications added by IAI. A freshly delivered airplane from Dassault. Cheers!

my 2 cents: close the event only to squadrons with people that we can trust, and people that appreciate the effort that took to design this event. We had more fun when it was just 373rd / NOB / IAF / etc i.e. the good old days... There are some good squads out there that work organized like the 51st / RAF / RvE / 238 / 104th.. etc.. they should be invited. Server is so constantly full from Thursday throughout the weekend that it takes too much time & effort to get enough IAF pilots in between restarts to have any fun at all. I have nothing against Arcus33 and it may very well have been a desync issue, but if Xcom & Greg request him to reinstall they are in their right to do so as it is their server and they have invested many many hours THOUSANDS OF HOURS to build this event. We had a similar issue in our community (IAF) and we did not make an ultimatum about it (@Falcon) you should stand behind the two people who develop and maintain this server. S!

From what I have found out so far it is essentially the same engine, same thrust, only the afterburner tail cone system was changed from a 2 piece to the typical 18 rose petal flap, and an improved starter subsystem.

Actually after checking I found that at some point there was an upgrade to the Israeli Mirage IIICJ engines from Atar 09B to Atar 09C. Mirage IIICJ with Atar 09B engine Mirage IIICJ with Atar 09C engine Trying to find more info about this... S!

Thank you for that Prowler! :notworthy: The E version maybe the more capable airplane with its longer front fuselage with bigger fuel tank, RWR (the CJ has none), better radar and avionics, but the Mirage IIICJ Shahak is simply epic with what it did for the IAF. The Mirage IICJ Shahak is the legendary airplane for the people of Israel, the one airplane that typifies the success of the IAF in the June 1967 war, much like the Spitfire is the epic airplane of the Battle of Britain for the British. I can tell you that the whole Israeli community is like :cheer3nc:  As for the typical adversaries of the Mirage IIICJ it is actually the MiG-17 and MiG-15 bis, and only the very first model of the MiG-21: the MiG-21F-13 Fishbed C is its adversary. The MiG-21 bis we have from Leatherneck is a 1980s fighter, a good 10 years after the last Shahak was retired from service. Salute!

Same as the regular Mirage IIIC, with the addition of the capability to carry the Rafael designed Shafrir 1 (1963) and the later better performing Shafrir 2 (1971) IR guided rear aspect heat seeking missiles. There's also some nifty rocket launcher and & bomb hanging capabilities on the underwing external fuel tanks.
-
Notice though that the Israeli Mirage IIICJ "Shahak" were equipped with the Atar 09b engine with the two piece clamshell or eyelid like variable exhaust can. Later variants of the Mirage III were equipped with the Atar 09C engine, with the typical petal-style variable exhaust like in pic above by IvanK. S!

That plus I would be willing to pay for it. S!

Also notice in the video the "live" missile on the right wing >>> is that an AIM-9J ???? I really hope the "J" model of the AIM-9 will be added! Will be a very good representation of late 70's heatseaker technology! REAR ASPECT only... and much more susceptable to flares then the L/M and P models

Thats because its an Israeli radar. Manufactured by ELTA Division of IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries). From what I remember this was an upgrade program for the Brazilian F-5E and included ability for AIM-9 or Python 4 AAM on the outer underwing pylons (total of 4x AAM capability). Radar guided AAM capability of this program was for the Rafael Derby active radar guided missile. edit: Elbit was the main contractor for the Brazilian F-5 upgrade program with IAI's ELTA Division a subcontractor. IAI on its own actually have quite a few variations of the program and have delivered to some other countries including Chile, Turkey, Spain and even the USAF! http://www.iai.co.il/2013/17866-37523-en/Business_Areas_Military_Aircraft_Upgrades.aspx The was another program with the EL/M2032 for the Romanian MiG-21 LanceR as stated. Cheers!

hmmm.... I just might need to buy me a Hawk then...

Small suggestion perhaps to make it more realistic in terms of what a heli can realistically lift: use HAWK battery instead of SA-6 ? S!

Hi, a friend that backed the kickstarter would like to start flying this sim. He needs to register to DCS website, but how does he go about doing it so that he will be identified that he is a DCS WWII backer? Specifically, should he do anything in particular when creating his account on ED website in order to be identified as a backer and have a link to the backers reward page in the personal section of the of his newly created profile? Thanks in advance for your help.

M346 Model - Introducing - Limitless Aerobatics!

Very much looking forward for this one! Would spur a great interest in my community. Thanks! -

Hi, This bug has resurfaced for me since the last update. My setting for cockpit shake is the default setting (100). For me it is happening every second flight, and only on the MiG-21bis. i.e. on the first flight since I start DCS World, if I take a MiG-21bis the shaking level will be normal (only in hard maneuvers, stall, high alpha, etc). Normal 1G flight will be without shaking. On the second flight the cockpit keeps shaking, even in "heart of the envelope" level flight of 1G, stable with no acceleration. Whole cockpit shaking when airborne, no matter if its an air spawn or cold start. Thanks in advance for taking a look at this! S!
