Hope this gets higher priority. Lat night the DCS.exe on our root server reached 31 GB Mem Usage. The server has 32 GB of RAM  You can imagine how awful it was to try and do something on the server with teamviewer. It didn't crash, just slowed down the server. Process killed until next update. S!

I think the idea of sling load cargo from cities to airbases is a brilliant idea!!! It will increase the importance of cities near airbases, they will be contested and fought over much more aggressively! And it will also give the helicopter pilots more mission types, this type while being very challenging from a flight skills point of view would probably be shorter time consuming, i.e. quick hops between the closest city to the base you want to build/increase defenses. Can't wait! :) S!

The real Blue Flag that took place last week in the South of Israel! Participants: IAF, HAF, USAF, and Poland Air Force ! Now the question begs: who stole from who the blue flag icon :music_whistling:  SALUTE!!!

Please, somebody explain to me what is the difference between: Warm apple pie -vs- Apple pie that is also warm Please!

hi Greg! what kind of SAMs will we be up against? how did you limit the weapons? using tables of equipment for each airbase?

Xcom you magnificent god of SQL !!! this is truly amazing! Some suggestions: 1. Add a column for real world date and time stamp (GMT) so we will be able to correlate when we look back some days or even weeks later at the sorties we did in each campaign. 2. Adjust the time stamp for take off time and landing time with the in-game time i.e. Viking_Tsunami / Sortie# 17 / Day 3 / Take Of Time would be 08:37:22 instead of 62:37:22... S!

Greg / Xcom / Crash, from the 1.5 change log: *Added options to show message events: Kill, Takeoff/Landing, Crash and Ejecting If you can remove these messages for the clients this would be very immersive! Units killed can be confirmed only by somebody seeing them actually destroyed. Will also declutter the chat box, and finally be more usefull for "chat". S!

There are many people from Croatia in the community with very good and stable connections in multiplayer. I suggest you get in touch with NOB squadron members, some of them are from Croatia. I am sure they can help. S!

What country you in?

The B-29s and the two nukes dropped did not deal the final blow to Japan. It would have taken alot more nukes for effect. Soviet Union declaring war on Japan and executing a full blown assault in Manchuria was the final push that marginalized the hawks in the Japanese war cabinet and allowed the emperor to order the ministers to accept surrender with less risk of coupe by the military reps. of the cabinet. Another good example of a war won without air superiority is Vietnam. Basicly very much dependent on how you define "win", but the war is always won / concluded on the ground despite the best efforts in the air. S!

from the SOP: -Repair System Each time a friendly or enemy asset is destroyed, it will start repairing after an amount of time (20-30 MINUTES). In order to stop an enemy asset from repairing it will have to be captured. This relates to the AI units. They will repair - respawn after 20 to 30 minutes. Human flown units will get kicked back to the slots selection if they try to spawn at a closed FARP or airbase. Take note that the AI units repair and respawn on the destroyed hulks of the previously destroyed unit, so they will seem like they are dead, but they are very active! S!

+1 Agreed. IMO if he has so many votes this is no mistake. This kind of SHAMING is unacceptable, even if it may seem funny for those who voted for him. Now it may seem funny, but in the next rounds it will have an undesired effect from a social point of view. Sgat and Coltrogue please take notice of this faux pas. You are causing Greg & Xcom to waste valuable time away from doing productive work. Edit: BTW - I recall at least two times that Jeffrey flew with the IAF and together we successfully captured FARPs. He operates the A-10C very well and is a team player, so his key ring is well deserved. S!

<-- wishing we had dedicated server... hope it will come soon!

I would hold off on all these plans, the Mirage 2000 is at least 3 months away and at the moment doesn't even have an EFM (dev. version currently with an SFM. The most logical REDFOR AI fighter comparible to the F-16C Blk.52 with AIM-120s is the MiG-29S equipped with R-77s. S!

Why do you need to climb up so high? looking for fuel efficiency? escorting B-17s? You can't hide from missiles or enemy radar when flying so high, and your radar needs to look down into the clutter, making it difficult to spot the enemy. S!

1st video = priceless!!! S!

Hello :) The IAF is interested. Is there a website with some more details? Would it be possible to see the SOP and RoE prior to registering? Cheers. S!

HiJack, What Xcom is referring to is the "Ace of Spades" (AoS) mission that runs on the DCS Israel Server. Look for the DCS Israel server on the master server list. The IAF will also be there tonight and we will be happy if people will join us for some good scraps on the various era match-ups. S!

Hi GUMAR, As promised, I looked for an opportunity to verify if the deployed EWRs units were working properly. I believe this picture proves that they are indeed working properly, and providing a radar picture in the area that they were deployed from the helicopters. This is the picture I saw as GCI and I made a screenshot for you. You can see in this picture the chain of EWR units that the blue deployed around Maykop prior to the big push: two in the East and one in the South. The only F-15s near Maykop are =42=MULE and IAF.Amir, and they are both pointed away from Maykop: MULE is running away from a missile shot and Amir is running away from 2x Su-27 that are chasing him (Tello & TaliG). Essentially we should see no radar contacts, especially not Frostie who just took off from Maykop and Amazing plus an AI fighter on the West coast. In summary I have no doubt that the EWR units are working properly. S!

Hi all, This was a very enjoyable round 2 for the campaign. Was very immersive! Every day in the duration of the campaign I was counting the hours at work until I can get home and log on to fly and make a difference with my squad in the AO. Here are my nominations: MVPs for Blue IASGATG - for stepping up to the plate and assuming the commander role, but also for his quick thinking and good intuition for making command decisions on the fly. ralfidude - for his brilliant videos and good commentary about the BlueFlag Campaign. MVPs for Best Blue Squadron 104th Squadron - for their enviable F-15 skills! 42nd Squadron - for their sheer determination and doggedness to take an objective! MVPs for Best Blue Weapon 20mm Shell - too many sorties I find myself wasting all my missiles! AIM-120s easily trashed in the valleys, never enough AIM-9s. Nothing beats a well executed guns bounce  MVPs for Red 51st_Teknetinium, 51st_Frostie - you two are the epitome of "Whispering Death" I played GCI quite a few times, I would usually see you only after you fired! MVPs for Best Red Squadron 238 Squadron for their unbeatable wingman tactics! MVPs for Most Deadly Red Weapon R-27ET - no doubt this is the biggest surprise for me in this campaign, I have finally seen how this long lance can be used efectively. When the hair on the back of my neck starts standing up I fly like a transport plane pilot: releasing flares every few seconds! MVPs for Neutral / Non-Aligned to any Coalition The Ocean between Sochi and Sukuhmi in the pitch black of night - for an unbeatable kill to death ratio, remembering all those times at night that I've gone defensive, defeating a missile shot at me, but then not quite figuring out fast enough which way is UP!!! (vertigo...) The residents of Sochi and Beslan - these two objectives changed hands so many times the residents there deserve not only a medal, but dual citizenship! The window repair men of the whole theatre - working hard to fix all those broken windows from sonic booms... just remember who brought you all this business you are now making a killing on. I could go on and on like the whore house in Batumi, the bearded lady in the Beslan circus (she misses you very much Aries...) :joystick: But I think I will leave this for the next round!! Last but not least, Xcom, Greg and Crash! Salute!

How about we test this concept on the 104th server?

The "1 life and you are done for the evening" is more fitting for an event limited to 3 hours and is for established squadrons that want to simulate a slice of time from some realistic ATO that could occur between two opposing air forces as they go about the messy business of war. We are actually quite familiar with these events. This is what we have been doing up until quite recently with the 373rd on Thursday nights. Just so you know we have been flying in 1 life events like this through all the sims we played: Warbirds, Aces High, IL2 Sturmovik SEOW campaigns. But this is a different type of event. It is an elaborate "Capture the Flag(s)" objective based in a "Persistent World", where the only intermission is a few minutes for the server to restart because of a code problem in the exe that causes the server to crash every now and then (purely technical issue). Victory is achieved when the enemy is totally vanquished. When one side's airfields are all conquered and they have no capability to sortie any aircraft whatsoever - again hardly realistic, but fun!!! The idea behind the limitation of lives is to weed out the pilots who fly without care and caution and completely and utterly and stupidly don't care if they die, not to discourage the pilots that simply aren't good in a fight. Taking into account the various deaths due to technical issues that people may sometime experience it is my opinion that the 7 lives every 6 hours is actually a good starting point. I think it could be reduced, but no lower then 5. That would really bum out some very good and dedicated pilots that were simply unlucky in the course of an evening of flying. My 2 cents. S!

One thing to consider is that the SA-15 and the SA-19 both have the capability to launch their missiles against the incoming anti radiation missiles of the Su-25T. The Kh-58 is easier to shoot down because it is slower in the terminal phase. Firing in pairs usually defeats this interception capability of the SA-15 and SA-19, but it also depends how many SA-15s and SA-19s are bunched together. If you put enough of them they will intercept all the inbound missiles :) S!

If I recall the consideration of the designers of this campaign (Greg & Xcom) is they wanted something big that can be spotted visually, so the opposing side can locate and eliminate enemy EWRs that are being deployed in the AO that they have already destroyed the EWR of the bases and cities, because you are making a big effort to keep "lights out" for the enemy :) The 1L13 is similar enough in size and weight to the previous P-18 and P-12 EWR systems. The reason I write this is because there is a documented case in Dec. 1969 where in a clandestine operation across the Red Sea parallel to the Sinai Peninsula there was an operation involving two Israeli CH-53s that managed to steal (airlift) an whole Egyptian P-12 radar system. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Rooster_53 The Mi-8 has good lifting capability similar to the CH-53 so it is a good substitute until Belsimtek will get around to doing the Jolly Green Giant :smilewink: S!

Falcon, you and your squad repeatedly shot down many of our fighters, helos and attackers last night near Sukumi. It was like taking off from Senaki and flying into a wall of R-27ETs near Sukumi... On the flip-side this is an interesting proposal to reduce what we felt was a ruthless baby seal clubbing event :smilewink: Salute! awesome flying by your squad yesterday!
