  1. an act of god perhaps???? You must offer virgins. Did you throw virgins into the volcanoes to appease the gods?? In the blue side we offer virgins every Monday and Thursday.
  2. Last night BLUE FORCE capture of Sochi was very good cooperation between the fighters, attackers, and Helos. Brilliant flying everyone, thanks for a very enjoyable evening! Thank you Xcom & Greg for this innovative campaign concept! Suggest all clients make sure to connect to the Buddyspike Teamspeak to promote ease of communications between squads & individual pilots. Salute!
  3. So bottom line is that F-14 does not have AIM-120 AMRAAM capability.
  4. Mi-8 troop transport for me please! :)
  5. Very cool!!! Thanks for posting the link!
  6. Wow talk about nit picking. Its just a skin! You can always edit the file and upload the corrected version to DCS community files.
  7. ahhh.... SO THAT is where the Russians got their hands on the technology to make MiG-28!!!! just kidding Top Gun :) Excellent read! thank you very much ilya, I enjoyed the whole article and shared with my squad mates. S!
  8. From what I can see here it was a controlled and constant descent from 40 thousand feet, at a constant speed of around 450+ kts. Very sad if this turns out to be an autopilot malfunction that could have been easily noticed and corrected by the crew...
  9. AFAIK it still shows up as "U" on the RWR of the American planes. @T_A: where is this lua file that needs updating on the A-10C and is there a fix available also for the F-15C? Cheers mate :)
  10. The HD4200 is that the built in graphics chip on the intel CPU? Would that suffice for the graphic card requirement?
  11. Not much room to fit more squadrons. We are pretty much at the limit of 64 participants with the current squads the campaign started with. S!
  12. Dec. 04th, 2014 DCS News Letter DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst Available for Download The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics are pleased to announce that the DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst beta is now available for download from the DCS E-Shop Like previous DCS World titles, DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst features a painstakingly reproduced model of the aircraft, including the external model, fully interactive cockpit, mechanical systems, and a Professional Flight Model (PFM). Along the lines of our DCS: P-51D Mustang and DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora titles, DCS: Bf 109K-4 Kurfürst places you behind the controls of a powerful, propeller-driven, piston engine combat aircraft. Designed long before “fly-by-wire” technology was available to assist the pilot in flight control or smart bombs and beyond visual range missiles were developed to engage targets with precision from afar, the Kurfürst is a personal and exhilarating challenge to master. Powerful and deadly, the last production model of the only single-engined German fighter to see service throughout World War II, the Kurfürst provides an exhilarating combat experience to its drivers, and a worthy challenge to all fans of DCS: P-51D Mustang. Key Features of the DCS: Bf 109 K-4: Unmatched flight physics that allow you to truly feel what it's like to fly this legend. Highly detailed, six-degrees-of-freedom (6 DOF) cockpit. Interact with cockpit controls with your mouse. Accurate Bf 109 K-4 model, squadron markings, and weapons. Detailed modelling the Bf 109 K-4 instruments, weapons, engine, radios, fuel, and electrical systems. Fly along with fellow DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Doras as you battle DCS: P-51D Mustangs in single and multiplayer games. DCS World 2 Status Work continues on DCS World 2 with progress on file structure, clouds and other effects, changes to the front-end GUI, and of course improvements to performance. We are still striving for a late-December 2014 release, but if debugging takes longer than we hope, it is possible that the release could be pushed to January/February 2015. As always, stated dates and timeframes are our best estimates and not promises. Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) and Strait of Hormuz Map Status Our map team is solely focused on the NTTR map right now. As mentioned in the last newsletter, the team has been having to do a lot of work adapting terrain textures and shadows since the map assets were moved from the terrainviewer tool to DCS World 2. How the terrainviewer tool and the DCS World handle light and shadows is quite different and made the NTTR map in DCS World look an odd yellow hue. In this way, the NTTR map has certainly been a test-bed for us using the new maps tools. While this and other map issues are being worked on, our map 3D modelers have had the time to add Las Vegas McCarren International airport. If time allows, we also hope to also add Tonopah Air Force Base (located in the northwest corner of the rand and it would provide great CONTANT PEG missions). In parallel, we are also working on RED FLAG campaigns for both the F-15C and A-10C in cooperation with the author Steve Davies and pilots that have flown multiple RED FLAGs. After the NTTR map is complete, the team will return to the Strait of Hormuz map. 3rd Party Single Player Campaign DLC Much as we are doing with 3rd party partner aircraft (and maps), we are developing a new copy protection system that will allow talented campaign builders to create and sell DCS campaigns through the DCS e-shop. As with DCS 3rd party aircraft and maps, each campaign will have to meet high quality standards and be part of an official license agreement with TFC/Eagle Dynamics. We see this as a great incentive for 3rd parties to help increase the amount of quality mission content. DCS: L-39 Albatros and DCS: MiG-15bis We have had to revise our production estimates on this project, and we now believe the project will be available in Q2 of 2015. By February 2015, we hope to provide you further updates. Development of the MiG-15bis has been going well but not fast enough to release a quality product by the end of December 2014. Rather than push it out too soon, we are going to keep it in the oven a bit longer and release it in the first quarter of 2015. VEAO Hawk Update The VEAO Simulations team have been busy getting the Hawk ready for release. This includes new training missions for general flight, basic and advanced navigation and weapons systems. The technical team have been busy integrating the Starforce copy protection system and are ironing out some bugs ready for release. The EFM (External Flight Model) is in steady development and will be ready for the VEAO testing team early in the New Year with access to the public in the Beta build Q2 2015. AvioDev DCS: C-101 Update The C-101EB model is the primary jet trainer and aerobatic display aircraft of choice for the Spanish Air Force, whilst the C-101CC model, with its 7 hardpoints and uprated engine, is a venerable light attack aircraft, seeing combat with the Honduras Air Force against drugs traffikers. With the two types sporting distinct yet similar cockpit layouts, combined with systems commonality, we anticipate there will be something for everyone in this package, from initial jet training and advanced aerobatics, to the light attack role. AvioDev have been hard at work completing the C-101EB and C-101CC versions. The EB model is complete, with the light attack version close behind. The AvioDev Technical Team comprises of type rated pilots and engineers, helping to ensure the highest possible accuracy and realism.AvioDev are striving for a January 2015 release. EFM version is scheduled for afterwards. Features of the EB and CC models include: Highly accurate systems simulation Complete electrical system modelling Complete circuit breaker simulation (all systems fail correctly) TARSYN gyro system replicated to exacting detail Accurate flight director system Custom air data simulation (airspeed indicators/altimeters behaviors, etc.) Custom navigation system simulation Complete fuel system modelling Complete hydraulic system modelling (SFM limitations apply) Flight controls/landing gear can sustain damage if poorly handled Accurate pressurization system (SFM limitations apply) Accurate oxygen system (SFM limitations apply) Icing model (SFM limitations apply) Fully adjustable cockpit and exterior lighting Additional features of the CC model include: HUD/Gun sight Complete weapons system modelling Custom ADF navigation radio system AoA indexer and AoA indicator Standby airspeed and altimeter incorporating unique physics Radio altimeter Advanced flight director system Change to the User End License Agreement (EULA) The following change has been made to the EULA: 5. RETURNS AND EXCHANGES All charges incurred when purchasing download DCS products from the DCS Store are not refundable nor can they be exchanged in whole or in part, regardless of the payment method. :music_whistling:
  13. I concur. The landing gear is much weaker in the open beta of 1.2.12. Using same technique, landing speed and descent speed at touch down I am getting bent and collapsed main gears much more often then in 1.2.11. I hope this will be addressed quickly.
  14. I had the same 'dead cockpit' issue with the open beta of 1.2.12 no mods, vanilla install of the open beta. It was partially solved when I checked the box for Custom Cockpit Texture Support in the Options->Special->Mig-21bis tab. I still can't find the drop down menu where I can choose between the cockpits... but at least the Russian cockpit works now. Cheers
  15. What a ridiculous statement. First of all, not all IAF air combat losses resulted in the IAF pilots death. Some were POW, some were rescued after ejecting over enemy territory, some managed to nurse their damaged planes back to friendly lines before ejecting, and finally some managed to land but the aircraft being so badly damaged was immediately written off. In all cases the aerial victory is credited to the Arabs. As an Israeli I can tell you that nobody hides the details of pilots death or losses. Quite the contrary. It is all very well documented on the IAF website memorial page with in depth details and accounts. Be that as it may I agree that there is a slight variance between what Arab sources and Israeli sources claim but that is mitigated, as Flanker wrote above the overall result was unequivocal, and this example repeats itself in every Arab vs Israel air conflicts. As for which was the superior machine my vote goes for the Mirage 3CJ. First of all one needs to realize that in 1967 it was not the MiG-21bis model but the earlier MiG-21F with very early Atoll missiles and without cannon. Even those later models that had cannon was with very small amount of ammo. The Mirage 3CJ by comparison had better cannon (2x DEFA 30mm), more ammunition, better lead computing gunsite, and better air to air missiles. Now add to that the vastly superior training and experience of the IAF pilots... Cheers,
  16. Good news!!!! thank you Belsimtek!
  17. Art-J Thank you very much for that in-depth explanation about the S-G. Salute!
  18. the take off was good!
  19. Definitely agree with that. But what I don't understand is why F/A-18C yes, but F-4E nyet.... they are both ex McDonnal Douglas airplanes, now belong to Boeing... Anyways. Rant mode off.
  20. Honestly I can't find any Russian or Ukrainian law that requires it.
  21. last question (sorry) after you you've started up the engine should you turn the APU switch to the off position? I'm asking because in the current manual I didn't see that it says to turn it off, but it makes sense that we should?
  22. Thats why I'm asking if you call up the ground power do you still need the APU for starting up the jet engine?
  23. no. offcourse I am not the authority. but this is a forum and I am saying my opinion, and I don't think it is against the forum rules. I'm just saying that there are already several very good "artistic impressions" modules for DCS being sold commercially and I don't think there was any licensing issue with those.
