Had a great time on the server last night and will also do some flying on the LW side. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this making a very interesting set of missions! Cheers,

Please, in the name of all that is holy, enable dot labels
ViFF replied to Extranajero's topic in Multiplayer
We prefer this approach. Over 80% of shootdowns in WW2 were the classic "bounce" where the victim was unable to visually spot the attacker or unaware of the impending attack. Cheers! -

At first I thought its because of the current bug in the F-16 that has incorrect barometric readout on the altitude gauge, but if you look closely you can see during the beginning of the video when Matt is showing the map in the mission editor that the altitude readout on the lower left never goes below +10 feet (or is it +10 meters?)... Hope this will be addressed before released. Cheers!
-
Confirm that! when flying low over the Sea of Galilee / Kinneret a correctly set barometric altitude gauge should show a readout of a negative value as the majority of the Jezrael Valley basin area is below sea level as Ron stated. The radar altitude readout is unrelated, it will never show a negative value. Thanks for posting the video, loved every second of it. Cheers!

Bueatiful! Thank you for sharing!

So if I understand you correctly: if you make curvature to pitch, it will also effect the trim tab, requiring much more nose down trim input, and the trim indicator will show incorrect actual physical trim of the elevator. If that is the case, that is definitely not good and obviously incorrect simulation of trim tab. The trim tab should have nothing to do with the curvature. The whole concept of the curvature is to give us humans a customizable interface between our physical stick on the desk to the virtual stick in the sim. I will test this tonight. Cheers

I am getting the same as Bailey and Yo-Yo posted. Cheers

Hi, I also use MSSWFFB2 and the trim for level flight is just a bit nose down, much less than what you have in yuur second picture. If you need so much nose down trim to maintain stable pitch in level flight at 312 mph there is definitely something wrong with your setup. I will post later this evening a picture of my trim indicator according to the same flight parameters as yours. Cheers

What a great time to be in DCS! Thank you so much for all the work on this map. The Israeli community is "chomping at the bits" counting every minute up to release  I have a question regarding the above quoted FAQ item. 600km x 500km is the whole map? or just the detailed area? What is the dimensions of the lower detail area "frame" of the map? On the West side, will the ocean be land blocked? shameless plug: we need F-4E Phantom and AH-1S Cobra for this map ;) Thanks!

You should also check the "Log in automatically" It will create a file called "network.vault" in "C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta_server\Config" folder. If its not creating this file its probably admin rights denying dcs.exe to write to the user folder. Just run DCS as admin. Hope this helps!

Thank you for all the hard work you and your team have put into this! It has really made a difference in multiplayer. We can now do bigger and more elaborate multiplayer sessions. We are getting organized for an even bigger event. Among other highlights will include a mass launch from the super carrier of more than 16 airplanes and also mass recovery. Our target is for >100 clients connected. :juggle: Cheers,

Last Thursday we (IAF) had a joint op with the Master Arms from Sweden. We had 54 clients connected, all departing and landing from the same airport and the mission was 3 hours long. The mission was with minimal scripts, contained 6x active big SAM sites and aprox. 30 AI aircraft (most of which were dynamicaly spawned) and over 200+ ground units. The Dedicated Server performed rock solid for 3 hours without crashes, no lagging, no warping, no rubber banding. I was looking at the memory usage on the server, never went over 3 GB. Here is a quick video of the launch & recovery: Good job ED!

Unable to load mission in web browser
ViFF replied to Wacko_ZA's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Is this the what you get when you double click the 'Local Web GUI' created after installation on your desktop? According to the status in the top right corner you are not connected to your server. Nothing will work. Also there was a note that gui works only with Chrome. I would try to follow the instructions here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=233486 Hope you succeed! -
Yes its hard and tedious to set all the proper configs you want with the dedicated server install because it doesn't have the user interface like the regular install. What I did was install both the regular Open Beta and the Dedicated side by side which allowed me to compare and adjust all the configuration files of the Dedicated according to what I saw in the regular Open Beta install. LotATC, TacView and other mods and DCS settings that are configured in the various tabs in the options menu. Adjust as needed in the menus and then take a look at the various config files when you want to implement in the config files of the Dedicated install. To this day I still have the regular Open Beta installed on the server. I hardly ever run it, but it's become convenient to apply the updates first to the regular Open Beta install and after finished updating I shut down the Dedicated and then the installer that updates the Dedicated normally just copies what it needs from the Open Beta regular install, and voila! minimal downtime for the Dedicated. Sometimes I'll fire up the regular Open Beta just to use the Mission Editor, to do a quick edit of a mission that runs on the Dedicated. So that's another convenience right there. Cheers!

Is it possible to manually change the flag from the server side? The DCS ISRAEL server is physically located in Germany, but it serves the Israeli community. I would like that the flag will be Israel so that if somebody sorts the server list according to country name (looking for servers in Israel) it would sort accordingly. Cheers!

host player name keeps resetting
ViFF replied to PSYKOnz's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
While I admit its an annoying bug, it most definitely isn't a critical game breaking problem and is probably very low priority on the to do list. I suggest just ignore it until it will be fixed. -
OpenBeta Dedicated Server massive Warping
ViFF replied to bitboy's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Can you post the mission you were running on the server? -
When you write "restart" is it a restart of the mission or is it a restart of the DCS host? If its a restart of the DCS executable, do you know that this is not necessary anymore? Most of the major memory leak issues have been fixed. If you're using the dedicated server its enough just to cycle a light mission between two heavy missions to refresh the server. Cheers

If you prefer not to give your clients the login details to the webgui you have two options: 1. SLMOD Admin menu (designated admins can choose mission to load via chat menu). 2. Using the Mission Editor, create in each mission a radio menu trigger that will either "End Mission" which will load the next mission according to the playlist of missions you have in the webgui -or- use the trigger action "Load Mission" which will load a specific mission file from the missions folder. In the latter you can have several missions that upon ending will all load the same mission, which would function as a "mission to choose missions" of sorts. This "mission to choose missions" would be a mission that has a list of missions in the radio menu, allowing multiple choice of which mission to load next. Keep in mind though, the second method allows any client to end the mission and load the next, so they might misuse it and grief other clients. You can protect this by using slot blocking such as Ciribob's Simple Slot Blocking Script that allows only the client IDs authorized in the script to go into the slot that has the radio menu choices for ending and changing the mission. Hope this helps Cheers

I don't think it is possible to see the debrief in the multiplayer environment. From what you write I am assuming that you are hosting the mission from a client host, this can only be done manually. If you are hosting from a remote server, there are several ways to do this depending on your server setup, so please elaborate if you want help. Cheers
