How do I reset the environment in WMR? I hope that can be done without hand controls (I just bought the headset)?
-
Starting today I cannot lean in with the VR headset. When I started the mission there was a top-right message about "Trackir disconnected" (or something like that). I don't know if that was related but when I lean in the POV stays the same and the whole world seems to move forward by the same amount. Basically, there is no Z axis anymore. Anyone else seen this?

I dunno. I'm a complete VR noob TBH. I just pulled them down from the "upward position". Is there some special angle I'm looking for?

Yes

I got my first VR headset (Reverb G2) this weekend and I'm honestly blown away. I was expecting to get a slide show with my mediocre machine but It's very nice and smooth and I don't see myself going back to a 2D monitor again. There are a few problems though and one of them is the audio. The built in speakers a good and comfy but due to the distance from the ear, and the fact nothing is blocking ambient sound, alot of the game's audio is lost or too faint. As an example; I can no longer hear the APU coming online in the Hornet. How do you guys deal with this problem? I have tried wearing my usual headset over the Reverb but that's doesn't work. Is there some sort of addon you can get to "isolate" you from the ambience of your environment and get immersed in the virtual sound space, like with a normal headset?

Thanks guys! It’s working now (I wasn’t even aware I needed to put the headset on to activate it)! VR is now active when I start DCS world but my POV is rotated 90 degrees to the left. Is there a quick way to recenter the headset? I don’t have hand controllers and I plan to be playing using only my HOTAS and mouse. There was a “reset base” keybinding that I hoped would do this but no luck.

I finally got myself a VR headset (HP Reverb G2) but I have zero clue as t how to get it to work in DCS. All info available seems to be concerned with how to optimize the game for VR but I can't even get it to light up the VR headset. The DCS world manual doesn''t say anything beyond how to tick the check box to enable VR. I've done that but the VR headset is still dark. Browsed the internet for clues and tried adding the --force_enable_VR flag to the shortcut. That produces the DCS UI in some sort of 3D on my 2D monitor but the headset is till dark. Also tried starting the WMR Portal before starting DCS (someone claimed that's needed) but when I start DCS the headset is still rendering the WMR Portal livingroom UI; not the DCS UI. If there is a guide somewhere as to how to get a new headset working in DCS I sure have missed it.

[UPDATE] Added the .miz file I was just gonna post a question why one of my F/A-18C groups won't taxi to the cats and shoot but I guess this problem is pretty generic. I might add some light to it though: What happened is I was building a mission with five groups; AWACS, Fuel, 2 CAP, one SEAD and one strike. For whatever reason the SEAD guys didn't behave as expected (they stuck ardound very low, outside of the SAM range, and then didn't attack the SAM sites as I was expecting). Suspecting something was maybe corrupt in the .miz file I tried removing the group and recreate it. Having done that, however, the SEAD guys are now just idling in their 'pits on the boat after having spooled up their systems. I can send the .miz file is it helps, once I get to my gaming box. cannot reproduce and missing track file SLAM - no DL13 video feed

Nope. I’ll try that. Thanks! -
cannot reproduce and missing track file SLAM - no DL13 video feed
moggel posted a topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Trying to get my head around using the AFM84E (SLAM). For some reason I get no datalink video feed when the missile gets within the programmed distance. This is what I do: Wait until SLAM is RDY Set the FLT (usually HIGH as I'm training on the mountaneous NTTR map) Set DIST to 10nm Set EFUZE to INST Set MODE to TOO Set the coordinates (using FLIR) Ensure the DL13 is set to correct Channel (station 8 or 2) Fly to within range Launch missile I then slow down and wait. If I display stores on the other display there is no "TTS" value displayed and when missile gets within the programmed range I get no video feed. Am I missing some basic step? -
Ok, turns out VA no longer launched in elevated mode. I corrected that and that seems to have fixed my issue.

reported earlier HMD target designation shifts - Slant range related
moggel replied to GVakarian32's topic in Bugs and Problems
Another hiatus and now trying to catch up with the updated HMDC. I go HUD/HMD as SOI, then look at a point and designate it. What happens is the diamond appears but is moving along the ground. Is that supposed to happen? I need to constantly slew/re-designate but overall this approach is pretty useless ATM. Bug or have I missed something? -
I assume you mean that after the patch, while DCS is showing the "Completed" dialog, I should launch VAICOM PRO? Is the anything I can do if I forget to do this? As it stands I can't use VIACOM PRO at all.

What the title says. Some more info: In VAICOM PRO setup I have ... Set the correct path to DCS World 2.5 OB. I also "ticked" the OB option (a switch) I ticked suppression of the COMMS menu

fixed [REPORTED] US Soldiers? Wrong Service Date
moggel replied to moggel's topic in Bugs and Problems
Ok, turns out I did get US infantry but only after turning off the "Historical list of units" filter. The mission date is set to June 6th 1944 (obviously). Is that filter bugged? -

I created a P-47D mission, just for fun, to recreate Utah beach but I can't find any US infantry in the ME. I can find UK infantry but for some reason there's US is missing from the list. Am I missing something very basic somewhere? According to the product description there should be Ger, UK and US infantry in the asset pack.

Trying to get my head around how to loft JDAMs. Can't find much in the manual and Google doesn't offer much detail either. This is what I've tried: 1. Select the JDAM(s), set QTY and goto TOO mode 2. Select TGT DELIVERY = AUTO LOFT and set an angle (15 or 30 degrees) 3. Designate a target using the T-POD (coordinates do update on the MSN page) 4. Dive away, extend and reverse back for a NOE run-in at hight speed (~500kt) At this point the designated point (on HSI/SA page) often has changed to some point between what I designated and where I'm currently at. No idea why. 5. Wait until about 30s remaining on TMR then pull up to the configured angle and wait for cue to start dropping 6. Drop, wait 1-2s then pull away etc. JDAMs don't even get close to the target Have I got this all wrong?

Will the Hornet have markpoints at some point, or is that not a feature in the C model? Unless I've been living under a rock there's no way to create a new waypoint from slewing the pod like you can do with the Hog. Flipping to the mission to try and figure out coordinates and then punch them in using the UFC seems like something IRL pilots don't do ;-)

Right! I was under the impression that command was only available after you trapped?
-
Just installed and tried out the SC module. After startup there's no "Request taxi" in the ATC meny and I'm never issued any taxi order, like we've seen in some clips before the module was release. Am I missing something or is that a feature that didn't make it to 1st release? Am I just supposed to taxi anywhere I desire and just launch?

EVen though I'm logged into the site (and the forums), for some reason I just get a pink banner with the text "restricted area" when I try to navigate to the weekly newsletter area. I also get a form asking for my credentials but submitting them just refreshes the error message. I have reset the password, for good measure, but no luck. Is this a known issue?

Totally agree with OP

Is it just me seeing this? If not, how do you guys manage to activate the TACAN, especially for the Carrier?
-
There's one thing frustrating me and that's activating the TACAN for tanker planes and the carrier. When I manually add the Perform Command -> Activate TACAN (or add it as a triggered action) it never works. I have noticed that the command is greyed out and that there's no "-a" option added to the command however, which it is for tanker planes default "activate TACAN" command (which works). I tried editing the .miz file manually to add the property (which I think means "auto" or something to that effect). Doing that will make the TACAN activate but is there a way to accomplish this from the editor? Also, as NOT having the "-a" option apparently makes the TACAN not work; is this a bug?
