OH-6A by Tobsen and Eightball
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
It's there... in the middle panel where the knob says PVT, INT, 1, 2, 3, 4... switch to Ch 2 or 3 and see if it works. My earlier post/pic here explained it. -

Did you also turn INT2 knob selector to Ch 2 (UHF) or Ch 3 (VHF)? -
LAlt+C for working Airboss/LSO panel buttons: If you want to bind LAlt+C to your mouse button, you have to do it in the Control Options for "General". (Binding it to your mouse button under a specific aircraft works in the cockpit but not at the Airboss/LSO panels.)

I noticed that as long as the HMD knob is turned on (even if HMD is off via Recce Event Mark button), the 2 secs of target ignoring does not work for BST and VACQ. Is this correct as is?

Thanks!

How does this work exactly? Thks

Not fixed after 11 Jul update. (Not a biggie since binding works.)

Low FPS with Low GPU usage DCS 2.8
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to MavOne96's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Old thread but I am just going to put it here. NVidia Alt+R stats display is bugged (Jul 2024) and shows some bogus stats (like GPU usage of 0% or 1% when iCUE shows 30%-50%). Make sure the NVidia stats are working properly in the first place.- 34 replies

Have you tried using Olympus? You can add aircraft and issue some commands via the live map in your web browser while the mission is ongoing. -
DCRealistic: Camera and Sound improvements plugin
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Arecibo's topic in DCS Modding
It's not for players who have no haptic devices and shakers right? I don't have those but decided to try the trial for fun. General first impression in the Apache and Kiowa is an underlying humming sound that can't be removed in the settings. -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
Reported in the bugs section here. Let me know if I missed out anything. -
To reproduce: Hover Kiowa over terrain where Baro Altitude at ground level is say 300ft (or anything above 0 AGL). While Kiowa is in the air, turn AI Pilot OFF and then ON (LAlt + O). Now switch to Radar Altitude Terrain Flight mode (LAlt + F). Ask Barundas to set altitude at say 20ft AGL (use a key bind). Barundas will not comply -> "You want me to do what?!" In fact, Barundas will not comply with anything below 300ft AGL (in this example) because he thinks he's in Baro Level Flight mode. One the above problem happens, it cannot be undone except to exit and re-enter DCS. To avoid this problem, the Kiowa has to be on the ground first before switching AI Pilot OFF and ON. The issue has been discussed here. It was discovered while creating the KIO-WA AI Pilot overlay tool by Bailey.

Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
Yes you are right. So I tried the key bind "set 20ft" and it would not comply after doing an AI pilot ON/OFF in the air. This should be reported in the bugs section or PC won't fix it. The alternative is to use "Increase/Decrease Altitude" (instead of "set" increments) as those key binds are ok but then we won't know the increment value w/o the HUD. Update: Reported in the bugs section here. Let me know if I missed out anything. -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
Yep, as I have been saying in my earlier post. Double-click AI Pilot button (or use key binds) when in air and the problem starts -> the RAD thinks it is BARO and you can tell because it won't go below the BARO value for ground level. Select any value higher than BARO ground value (while in RAD) and AI will comply. Once this problem starts, it can't be resolved and it adds another problem which is when I select say REL ALT +50, it adds 2500ft instead of 50ft when in RAD (watch it go up). The only way to avoid this problem from happening in the Overlay is be on the ground whenever you want to turn the AI Pilot ON or OFF. -
Will the NAV Designate function on the CPG Cyclic be implemented? It does mot appear to do anything at the moment.

By the way, when you're in too close or misaligned and the APKWS can't track the laser, or if you don't have the time to do a track and lase in the MMS, you can just fire off the APKWS without lasing like unguided rockets. Use the triangle in the PDU to aim at the targets if you have it installed.
-
You can see the IZLID beam in the MMS video also. I sometimes use it as a reference pointer as it can be hard to find targets in the MMS. When the MMS is in FWD-Uncommanded mode, its LOS is in line with the PDU crosshairs. That can also help locate targets in the MMS. I was wondering if we could see our own MMS laser beam with the NVG or MMS but I guess not. I've seen Reaper beams with the NVG but I suppose they are IR pointer beams.

If it is AV related, the common remedy is to... 1. Check the AV settings for any notification of a recently quarantined file that belonged to DCS. Un-quarantine the file (or files) if possible and set the AV to exclude those files in future, ie. tell the AV those files are safe. 2. Look for the exclusions/exceptions setting in the AV and exclude C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta so that the AV will not scan/check this folder in future. 3. Do a quick DCS repair. Start DCS and see if your F4E is back to normal. I don't think your F4E has been uninstalled. More like disabled because of a missing (quarantined) DCS file. (The above was my experience with the F15E module.)

OH-6A by Tobsen and Eightball
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Ok, I managed to get radio menu comms to work with AI (wingman, ATC). I learned/noted a couple of things though: 1. Left Pic: PRESET CHAN requires GD XMIT mode selected. In ME, the OH-6As were set to 264 AM and Chan 1 = 264 while Chan 2 = 265. Both channels worked. I guess they were close enough. But in MAN mode, frequency had to be exact (26400). In another test with 257 AM (Chan 7) set in ME, only Chan 8 (258 AM) worked in GD XMIT mode. Seems the PRESET CHAN is a bit buggy and does not quite follow ME settings. 2. Right Pic: In either pilot or CPG seat, as long as INT 2 knob selector was at 2 (UHF) or 3 (VHF), it worked. It didn't matter what I did with INT 1. (I thought INT 1 was for pilot and INT 2 for CPG.) 3. With the sound of the rotor blades turning, ATC is barely audible even with radio volumes at max. (Hear like in helmet checked.) -

Basically... I can't get this to work. No response from AI (wingman, ATC, etc). Is player to AI comms simulated in this free mod? If so, we need instructions/tutorial on how it works. UPDATE: It works. See post.
