You have to adjust the video gain and level switch-like controls found on the left of the MMS panel (CPG side) after selecting TIS (key bind from CPG cyclic). You can also switch to green mode (NVG) using the knob at the bottom left of the MMS display if that helps.

Weird Rocking Behaviour in Auto Hover & Auto Slave
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to GrEaSeLiTeNiN's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
No that means they haven’t fixed it. I don’t know why they are taking so long. It’s unfortunate since it’s a nice module otherwise. -
If it's 4 HFs, you can have max 3 on one code (usually 1688) and the remaining 1 has to be on the other code. Not sure why. If it's 2 HFs, you can have both on the same code.
-
Unfortunately no. Might be that it happens because I use unlimited weapons and fire off too many hellfires for the system to 'handle'.
-
Hi, is there any update or info on this? Is it correct as is? Thanks
-
Yeah while playing a campaign, firing hellfires has caused me cause quite a few CTDs. While I can't reproduce it in absolute steps, it has happened often enough.

What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Yes I see ok. I fly the Kiowa without doors on mostly and if I lean out I can actually see the area behind the pods. Maybe the values for the left and right sides i could leave as default. Would that be the x or y values? Update: I adjusted two values. 0.1 and 0.35 gave me a bit more 'zoom in'. Thanks! EyePoint = {0.1,0.0,0.0}, limits_6DOF = {x = {-0.2, 0.35},y ={-2.7, 0.05},z = {-5,5},roll = 90.000000},- 591 replies

No binds available for Copilot Channel Select Switch
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to LorenLuke's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sorry, I was replying to my own post on the CPG Radio Select Switch. But now I am a bit confused. Although the Radio Select Switch works now, it doesn't look like it should be there as there is no "Radio Select Switch" on the "Copilot Radio Panel" that I can find but it's rather the Transmit Selector Switch knob (PVT, ICS, 12345, RMT) which does have CW and CCW bindings. Did I miss something? Yes, the OP was about the CPG Channel Select Switch which still doesn't have bindings (Pilot has it on the collective). I wonder why PC didn't fix these easy to fix issues in their last update which was such a short list. -
OH-58D Kiowa Operation Dixmude Campaign (Released!)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
I experimented to change some night missions to daytime from mission 6 onwards, also added a wingman and used some of the new rain options. Was wondering if the new time setting would compromise mission success criteria but so far so good I think. The rain and overcast clouds in the high mountains made it a more fun challenge both in terms of flying and the use of the MMS. I've always shunned night ops in DCS for obvious visibility reasons. But I have to say the night missions in the first half this this campaign have given me much practice and made me more open to doing night ops. -
Looks just as grainy as the Apache's NVG, and it is grainy in real life too, isn't it?

There's been some feedback on the searchlight here also. You may want to post it in the bugs forum though you probably get more attention on their discord.

New Look and Feel for the South Atlantic map
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Raz_Specter's topic in South Atlantic
Yeah the vid comments did say to add a little more than the target FPS which for TrackIR is best at 30/60/90. I think that idea works if you have like a 4090 and are getting say a consistent 100+ fps so that when you cap it at 60/65, you are assured of it staying consistently at 60. For me with my old 3070, I range from 35-90 depending so maybe my cap should be 30. But I won't want that so I just leave it at 60 or 65 and hope that whatever extra FPS I did saved it from goes into something good. -
I started with that other sim. So I guess the F16 for me felt more natural. Yeah I agree about the DED part being a hassle. The OP was asking which is easier to learn. For me the F18 requires more revision when I've been away from both compared to the F16.
-
F16 is easier and more intuitive. F18 is more complex but if you master it, it is supposed to give you better SA.

I capped my FPS at 60 following this guide and rationale. I think it is helping. -
OH-6A by Tobsen and Eightball
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Update: Taking off from ground hot. The skid of the AI Cayuse will gradually sink into the ground on the roll side (see pic) and eventually cause the helo to crash and explode. But as player, you can even initiate some cyclic roll while on the ground and your skids won't sink into the ground. So it seems this issue affects the AI Cayuse only. I also tested an AI Gazelle taking off from ground hot and it had no issues with sinking skids. So I don't think it's a DCS thing. Tobi & Eightball could have a look at it and see if it can be fixed (and also look at how to get the AI to engage targets). -

GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Did some tests. AI wingmen can't take off from ground because they drift sideways, roll over with skids going into the ground and explode. Some bug there. They have to start in the air. But they seem to follow my radio menu commands (if radio is set right) and reply with "copy". I managed to get my AI wing to jettison weapons, cover me, pincer right, RTB, etc. Just that he seems to do it all at some strangely high altitude separation above me (I was in active pause at 500ft AGL though). But as for engaging enemy ground targets, he won't comply ("unable"). As for the frag/smoke grenades and weapon combo loadouts, they should appear in the cockpit whether correctly or incorrectly as described in my earlier post. Give it a try. -

GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Yes you are right. When choosing the smoke grenade slots in the mission payload screen, the Cayuse doors can be seen to come back on - door gunner and minigun, if you have them, are blended in with the doors. You have to play around with selecting, unselecting and reselecting the grenade slots to remove the doors. As long as the doors are removed in the Cayuse model in the mission payload screen, you will have your grenades and weapons selection show up correctly in the cockpit. Only thing is if you have say 2 slots of OH-6A each with an AI wingman, switching back to the previous slot causes your AI wing in that slot to lose the door gunner and minigun (no doors). Strange. -

GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
There's a bug in the smoke grenades loadout. It doesn't follow what you select in the ME mission payload. If you don't choose all of the smoke grenades in stations G1, G2, G3 and G4 (say you pick only stations G1 and G3 to have them), when you enter the cockpit, you will see none of them. And even the frag grenades, gun and rockets that you selected will not show up. But occasionally, although rarely, it works and follows your selection but I could not replicate it. -
Fly 2D only, so I have disabled it. They could have added something simple and useful like a menu with each module's manual linked, an option for day and night gamma settings, ability to save profiles for ME Mission Options.

Which thread? I read one where they went full circle, from unparking cores and back to parking cores because the former no longer helped.
